Everything was very smooth and straightforward. The pick up was in time and the journey wasn’t too long. Not too long wait for the tickets for the entrance at Pompei. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and it made the tour 100% enjoyable. The tour around Pompei was couple of hours, just the right amount of time if you are travelling with a child. Definitely will recommend

We took the bus from the port. Walking tour Pompeii was about two hours long. I do get to walk through some of the old structures. Pictures are fantastic.

Itinerary

Your morning starts with pickup in an air-conditioned minibus from the meeting point, select Naples hotels, Port of Naples, or the central train station. Then, make the roughly 25-minute drive to the Pompeii Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On arrival at Pompeii, skip the lines and the crowds struggling to get into one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy. Follow your guide into the site and explore the site for about two hours.

See the main square, the brothel, thermal baths, the frescoes in the House of the Vetti (Casa dei Vettii, and other top highlights. Listen to your guide provide historical context, and end your trip with drop-off at the starting point.

Pick up point address is not accurate. Use the pin as your guide. Ilaria was not polite as we left for pick up point 30 minutes early and our hotel said it was a five minute walk. When we discovered at 10 minutes before pick up time we were lost and that the address was invalid we tried to phone but never got an answer. Had to text multiple times only to get response of do you not understand maps. I use Viator a lot and this was first bad address which also changed once. Guide should have redirected me to follow only the pin drop given the day before but again the address was repeated and we were told to meet in front of a store that also did not come up on Google Maps. Our actual tour guide of Pompeii was excellent and was an archaeologist.

Be prepared for crowds, wear comfortable shoes and be careful walking as stones are slippery, pay attention to your guide as there is much to learn from him or her. We had Micheline from Naples as our guide and she was wonderful.

The Pompeii tour started with a pickup from our hotel, and then it was a short 30 min drive to Pompeii. We did have to wait 30-45 min for our tour to start, which was annoying. But once it started, wow! Our tour guide, Elisa, was informative, interesting and charming. We could easily have spent more than 2 hours there. Highly recommend for anyone with a short amount of time to explore Pompeii.

I loved the guided tour of Pompei. We always use a guide because they have great knowledge and stories to share. I read before and after the tour but I like to focus on the site during the visit and just listen to the guide with the speaker. Guides are all different and have been all great!

The trip to Pompeii started when they picked us up on time very close to our hotel, and arrived at pompeii, and we met our guide, I dont remember his name but, he was a man, with a lot of things on his mind and he was very funny!! He took us to the ruins and made the toura good experience.

Loved Pompei and our guide. So knowledgeable and approachable. I think the 1/2 day tour was just the right amount of time. Only thing I would recommend, is better communication as to how the travel to Pompei worked. We were picked up by a private driver, then transferred to a small bus of maybe 15 in town. We just didn’t understand what to expect from that aspect.

Our half-day tour of Pompeii was very well-organized and informative. The guide was knowledgeable, or perhaps had given the tour many times as it was a little robotic. The timing was perfect for a short trip—you get to see the key highlights without feeling rushed. Transportation was comfortable and punctual, and the pickup from Naples was convenient. That said, the area felt very mass-market, and the crowds were excessive, which took away from the experience. I also didn’t enjoy having to wear headphones during the tour—it felt a bit impersonal. Overall, though, if you’re short on time and want to see Pompeii’s main attractions, this is a solid option. Tour bus was clean and well maintained

This is a phenomenal historical experience. You are able to see hands on, how early Roman’s lived their lives. It amazed me how far away Mt. Vesuvius was from the site! I enjoyed the stories told by our guide. We learned what it was like to live your life around 79 AD.

I did see and got a basic understanding of Pompeii, which is what I had hoped for. The transportation was on time and comfortable, and the guide was experienced. The place is enormous so a 1/2 day is only an introduction, but I still felt like I was on a tourist assembly line. Pompeii, the site, is VERY commercialized and packed. I went on the off season, I imagine it’s a mess during the spring and early summer. The guide’s jokes were a bit stale and he gave a bit more innuendo than I cared for but the audio system worked well. There is more nuance to the role of women in Pompeii society that was presented, but that’s a deeper tour conversation than this one provides. As a basic introduction to Pompeii, it’s fine. If you want to say “I went to Pompeii” but don’t like history, this is the tour for you. Wear comfy shoes with good traction and bring a water bottle.

It’s a lot of walking on very uneven ground . Erica the tour guide was very knowledgeable it was a shame though that we could not hear a lot of her commentary. The audio was not good and the group size was too big. Despite this, it was a good tour but my recommendation would be to try to find an operator with smaller group sizes or book your own guide for just you .
