It is a very interesting stop! Be aware that it is rough walking in some areas and an umbrella would be helpful if it is a warm day. Crowded... but where else can you experience this

Our ride/ greeter ( not the guide) did not do a good job of welcoming anyone other than a hello. Nothing was pointed out along the way or telling us without asking if other to join.
The guide himself was a little rough around the corners in speech and information. He had a sense of humor but took a bit to just go with it. Explanatory of process would have been helpful in marketing and in person. Guide information that was shared was very informative. Small group was 15 people with several stops so time at site was 2 hours, which was enough as it was a flipping hot 100 degree F.

Overall very educational experience.
Firstly, our tour began at 9:45 meeting at the provided location - but the bus was late, so we were left standing in the heat. We didn’t actually board the bus until 10:15. Being 15 minutes early to meet our guide that means 45 minutes of standing around. When we finally boarded the bus, it went the wrong way (???) and the driver had to turn around to get to the proper destination.
It was fascinating to see the ruins, and see how the habitants of Pompei lived, cooked, and experienced day to day life. The lanes and roads are quite narrow at times, causing the guide to be far ahead of the group and the ear pieces would lose connection. This happened for about 1/3 of the experience. So there was a number of people that probably also had no idea what was being said.
Also if you want to buy any souvenirs, do so outside of the establishment. It’s a little more pricey, but has much more variety.
Bring water, a hat, and a portable hand held fan. Wear comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen.

The Pompeii tour was very interesting and the information given by our guide was excellent. The city was very large so wear good walking shoes.

Pickup went great. They were right on time to get us. But, once we got to Pompeii the waiting began. We were told our tour guide would arrive in 20 minutes when we first got there (1015). By 1050 they were telling us our entry tickets weren't until 1115. So waited around the entrance for 1 hour prior to entry. Tour guide was adequate but not great. Departure was a bit of a mess too. Had to wait around 25 minutes to catch our transfer back.
I would encourage searching around for a different tour. We went with this one because we wanted a shorter trip so we could spend more time in Naples. We lost around an hour and a half in Naples due to delays in their operation.

Dear Sir I have to inform you that everyday we access to Pompeii at 11:15, guide was not late. The error was of the driver and please accept our apologize; he took inexplicably the group in Pompeii at 10:20 instead of the usual time around 10:45 and all the passengers of that bus had to wait the right time to start. Sorry again for his mistake.

The guide at the Pompeiii site was very good. It was a very hot day so a bit uncomfortable. We have done a number of Viator tours and they have usually been self contained-small group with a guide/driver. This was different because the transport was handled by one person and then handed off to another for the larger group tour.

This is a very interesting experience and the guide was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. Be prepared for a lot of walking and many people especially in the summer months.

Guide makes all the difference! It’s much larger than most people imagine and you need an expert to explain what you are seeing. Flawless coordination. Picked up on time and coordinated with guide and returned to hotel on time., Well worth the money!

you need to clean the bus in between trips and should start the trip timely. we were at the meeting point timely but had to wait about 30 minutes until we got on the bus. Pompeii is worth the trip but being better organized is helpful. after the tour we had to again wait before proceeding back to ship

The tour of Pompeii itself was excellent but basically all Project Napoli do is arrange transport. Dumped at the end (on the road, not at the port terminal), with one word from driver "porto". Pleasant but rather chaotic half day.

Our tour guide Maria was excellent , very informative and kept the group engaged. The tour took approximately 2 hours but the space was busy and the bathrooms cost 0.50euro to use. Only thing that was not appreciated was that the bus pick up was to be at 1:50pm and the girl was trying to organise extra 2 people who missed their other tour on the bus as we were late she rushed the group to walk to the bus leaving behind a lot of elderly people who could not walk fast, she also crossed the street and left everyone behind My friends and family were shocked and we had others stopping and tried to help. Although the tour was excellent that part was unprofessional and she young employee should know that she should be aware of the clientele.

We took the bus from the port. Walking tour Pompeii was about two hours long. I do get to walk through some of the old structures. Pictures are fantastic.

Pick up point address is not accurate. Use the pin as your guide. Ilaria was not polite as we left for pick up point 30 minutes early and our hotel said it was a five minute walk. When we discovered at 10 minutes before pick up time we were lost and that the address was invalid we tried to phone but never got an answer. Had to text multiple times only to get response of do you not understand maps. I use Viator a lot and this was first bad address which also changed once. Guide should have redirected me to follow only the pin drop given the day before but again the address was repeated and we were told to meet in front of a store that also did not come up on Google Maps.
Our actual tour guide of Pompeii was excellent and was an archaeologist.

Be prepared for crowds, wear comfortable shoes and be careful walking as stones are slippery, pay attention to your guide as there is much to learn from him or her. We had Micheline from Naples as our guide and she was wonderful.

The Pompeii tour started with a pickup from our hotel, and then it was a short 30 min drive to Pompeii. We did have to wait 30-45 min for our tour to start, which was annoying. But once it started, wow! Our tour guide, Elisa, was informative, interesting and charming. We could easily have spent more than 2 hours there. Highly recommend for anyone with a short amount of time to explore Pompeii.

I loved the guided tour of Pompei. We always use a guide because they have great knowledge and stories to share. I read before and after the tour but I like to focus on the site during the visit and just listen to the guide with the speaker. Guides are all different and have been all great!

Everything was very smooth and straightforward. The pick up was in time and the journey wasn’t too long. Not too long wait for the tickets for the entrance at Pompei. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and it made the tour 100% enjoyable. The tour around Pompei was couple of hours, just the right amount of time if you are travelling with a child. The trip to Pompeii started when they picked us up on time very close to our hotel, and arrived at pompeii, and we met our guide, I dont remember his name but, he was a man, with a lot of things on his mind and he was very funny!! He took us to the ruins and made the toura good experience.

Overall, this was an excellent tour if you have limited time. Felt a bit, not bad really, just a bit disorganized, but once it got started, was an excellent tour with a wonderful tour guide.

Loved Pompei and our guide. So knowledgeable and approachable. I think the 1/2 day tour was just the right amount of time. Only thing I would recommend, is better communication as to how the travel to Pompei worked. We were picked up by a private driver, then transferred to a small bus of maybe 15 in town. We just didn’t understand what to expect from that aspect.

Tour and guide were excellent. Overall a very good value and informative. Bring some Euro coins in case you need to use a bathroom, no seats on toilets.
