Itinerary

Meet your guide in front of the Milan Duomo, and—if there are more than six people on the tour—don headphones so you won’t miss anything your guide says. Admire the exterior of the cathedral before going inside, contemplating the nearly 600 years it took to finish construction and the seemingly endless array of statues and spires that decorate the Duomo.

Follow your guide right past the lines on this skip-the-line tour, entering the dimly-lit cathedral. Learn about some of the lesser-known architectural and design features—including some symbols that are usually associated with paganism—as well as some of the cathedral’s prominent elements.

See paintings, sculptures, and stained glass windows decorating the vast interior space—the largest cathedral in Italy—and hear how Milan’s Duomo fits into the city’s history. Go beneath the Duomo floor into the crypt below the altar to see the tomb of Saint Charles Borromeo, a 16th-century archbishop of Milan.

The tour finishes back outside the cathedral in Piazza Duomo.

Note that you’ll need to choose either a weekend or weekday departure. This tour does not include a visit to the Duomo rooftop.

Very informative tour which highlighted lots of things we would never have noticed or understood without our friendly guide. Our only difficulty was that we were not given a precise enough location to meet the tour organisers but I had a What's App number which I called and they gave us more details but it was still hard to locate the guy as the sign he was holding up with name of our tour wasn't very big so we were just lucky that we walked past in close enough proximity that we saw it.

Felt ripped off!!!!!!

I paid 80 euros for the tickets on line to the Duomo in Milan for my friend and me. I received verification and a place to meet. We were unable to meet the tour director at the 12 once Coffee shop under the arches? Whatever that means because we could never find it. We asked several people if they knew where this place was or what were commonly know as the arches. There was no number to call. My walking GPS was no help. Extremely disappointed and felt like this was a total run around SCAM.

We met one guide waiting for us and then we waited 30 more minutes and hooked up with another guide with 30 other people. Our tour lasted 30 minutes and we could not understand our guide half the time. We could of, should of, just got our own ticket into the Duomo and saved us a lot of money. And we would of been happier with an audio tour. It was not worth our time or money.

Dear Heather, the person who greeted you was our coordinator who kindly escorted you to the guide and had you join the group who had meanwhile visited the cathedral terraces. Since your reservation included only the cathedral you started the tour at 11:45am instead of 10:30am. I hope this is now cleared up. In any case if you had done the tour alone you would have had to queue to get tickets at the ticket office in addition to the queue for individuals to enter the cathedral, which is longer than the queue for groups. We absolutely loved our tour guide. She was so knowledgeable and funny. We bought the hop on hop off option. I’m giving Viator 4 stars because we didn’t understand that we had to pick that up at the Duomo. We came into the train station and wanted to get On it there, but couldn’t. You should make that clear.

The Cathedral is amazing, but the guided tour I would not recommend, the tour guide was so hard to understand, English was very broken and heavy accent, couldn’t understand 90% of the what she was saying. Biggest waste of money, but seeing the cathedral is a must, just buy a 8 euro ticket to see it.

Just want to remember that the price you paid €35 includes an official guide, supply of radios, skip the line for entrance tickets and assistance at the meeting point. We are concerned that the crypts were closed and have been for three years. But you advertised it as part of your tour. We would have booked the roof top tour had we known. At that point we were unable to add onto our tickets. We were then left standing as the rest of group toured on. The group of 6-8 was a group of 30. Again poor advertising. We would have. Booked with local guide had we known.

Horrible. Paid $30 for a $9 ticket with only access to the museum. There is no line so there is no need to skip. Does not give you rooftop access. Could have purchased the ticket for the rooftop access for $21. Save your money.

Dear, We remember you that you paid 30 dollars to join a guided tour of Duomo Cathedral (not the museum that as you can imagine is a completely different thing) with an English speaking guide that also provided you professional headsets. Furthermore, you had not to pass to the ticket office to buy the entry ticket (there is a specific queue for the tickets purchase that you obviously skip) and you have queued in the group line to enter inside the cathedral, line that is always faster than the normal one. The rooftop access was not included because you purchased only the Duomo Cathedral tour: if you would have purchased the Duomo & Rooftops tour obviously you could have joined the rooftop access too. Next time I kindly suggest you to carefully check what kind of tour you are buying and what is included or not in tour description in order to avoid bad experiences and fake reviews. The guide was in a hurry and really did not offer the information that is readily available about this Duomo. He was a nice person, but he was rushed and did not tell the story of this magnificent cathedral/ Duomo. A bit disappointing.
