While the tour of the Duomo was cancelled we were able to enjoy La Scala.
With the changing of the tour my app, email & text gave us the wrong time. So when we arrived at our scheduled time the host seemed upset.
La Scala is beautiful and there was a lot of interesting information about the history. We were able to see the interior, a model of the theater and many interesting artifacts.
We did feel our tour guide was quite abrupt in that we passed a hall of posters of the original operas and were told if we want pictures to come back after the tour. He was rude to a group of gentlemen who were quietly talking next to him as he was explaining the model to us. He said they were interrupting his tour (even though they were seated before we got there) and he asked them to be quiet. Honestly, our family never heard the other people. He could have easily walked to the other side of the table away from the men, but instead made them uncomfortable and they left.
The tour felt a little rushed as he was told us several times that he wanted to stay ahead of all the other tours.
I would recommend this tour, but not with the guide we had.

Samantha is an excellent and knowledgeable guide and made the visit so much more enjoyable. The Duomo is a masterpiece of gothic architecture and having the specific details pointed out to us made the difference.

Samantha was an amazing tour guide! She was so knowledgeable about both the theatre and the Duomo. She was so personable and friendly. The only challenge we had was finding the meeting place for the tour because it was not clearly indicated where in the plaza we were to meet.

The tour was cancelled, and we only found out by approaching a guide as we waited for our tour. Whilst we did receive a full refund, we did not get to enjoy the full Milano experience we had hoped for, and were left to discover the Duomo museum via an app, not quite what we wanted.

Tour was cancelled after we arrived and less than 50% of the total cost was refunded. Very unprofessional, the guide was a no show and the contact person just said that the tour is cancelled. Nothing further.

Samantha was a very knowledgeable guide. We really appreciated her insights and the background she provided on La Scala. We had a small group of eight for this part of the tour and missed the intimacy and personal connection once we joined the larger group of 30 for the Duomo tour.

La Scala was great although there were so many other tour groups, even though we had headphones so we could hear our guide, at times it was difficult to hear.
For the Duomo tour People were very late arriving and we waited and then there were various delays with tickets, etc. Tour was meant to start at 2:10 and go for an hour but didn’t start until after 2:30. We had booked the tour based on the times advertised however As a result of the delays we had to leave at 3:10 as we had a flight to catch. Tour guide was great but organisation wasn’t. very disappointing when you pay so much and only get half the experience.

My confirmation said that we were scheduled for the Duomo at 1pm. After asking several people we learned that the meeting place was by the bookstore at the plaza. When it was close to 1pm I called the number on my confirmation because I didn’t see a tour guide. They said we were supposed to see the Scala opera house first and it was a 5 minute walk away. I put it in my Apple Maps and unfortunately it didn’t work well. Eventually we found it and the tour company called me and said the guide left our tickets at the ticket office and we were able to join the tour.

The guide was very informative and knowledgeable and give us a lot of interesting historic facts on what would have been happening in the Opera House when it opened many years ago and how it would have been utilised by the rich and wealthy.

Our guides were terrific, we couldn’t have had better ones. They did a wonderful job of explaining the details of the theater, as well as the used users of the opera house. The Duomo was overwhelming in its rococo decoration. The interior was so full of religious history that it was hard to absorb all of it.
Go if you get a chance this tour it was terrific!

We got there and they had closed the theater so we got tickets to come back to view the theater later that day. However, when we came back the theater was dark so we never really saw the theater! Also, the tour for the duomo started late and also did not allow us to go to the. top even though we had paid to do it. DO NOT book this tour!

Furthermore this tour includes Scala Museum and Duomo tour, the rooftops is NOT INCLUDED.
Next time please check better the tour description and don't write false information in your review.

This was a “mix and match”-type tour set-up. We visited both the opera house (La Scala) and the cathedral (Duomo), while others chose just one or the other. We had separate guides at each location but both were exceptional in walking participants through the respective sites and explaining clearly key aspects of what we were seeing as well as the history of the places. A third guide walked us between the two sites. We started at La Scala and met in front of the ticket office. Everything went smoothly and made for a great overall experience of visiting these two key attractions in Milan.

We had a guide through La Scala and then a different guide through the Duomo. Both guides were excellent. We were so lucky to see a rehearsal while in La Scala! The sites from on top of the Duomo were beautiful. Worth seeing these sites with guides so you can hear stories and have them point out things not noted or described on signs. The only thing to note is that because we transferred directly to the Duomo tour, we were not able to stay a little longer in La Scala to explore on our own. That being said, the tour guide really did a thorough job as we went through.

The website made it seem like there were 2 options for where to start this tour. In fact, this package is 2 tours, with 2 different tour guides, that leave from 2 different places, one after the other. I missed the tour of La Scala, thinking I could start at the Duomo & go to La Scala second, based on the way it was described. In reality, you were supposed to meet up for the La Scala tour first, then have a break, then meet up with a new tour guide for the Duomo tour later. I called to find out what was going on & wasn't even offered a refund for the part of the tour I missed, just told to pick up the second half with the Duomo. Terrible customer service. The tour of the Duomo was great & the tour guide did a great job - & even tried to help me figure out how to get a partial refund but wasn't able to. Would not book through them again.

thanks for sharing your point of view, but you could easily check your voucher in which was clearly indicated the correct meeting point for your booking (that changes for the starting time that you choose), obviously you didn't.
Furthermore, if you were not sure where to meet, you could contact us before the tour by phone, by email, by WhatsApp o by Viator messagges, but you didn't.
You should not blame the agency because you were not partially refunded, as you can understand there is guideline to follow, even for the customer service personell.

The combination of the Duomo and La Scala was perfect for us, and the ability to spend extra time in both places (after the end of the Duomo tour) was much appreciated. The guides were both excellent (Chiara especially), but for us it was very important to be able afterwards to look at things at our own pace.

The time dedicated to Duomo Cathedral was way too short. Approximately 1/2 hour. This tour would have been helped by a lot more history and a rooftop visit.

the Duomo part of the tour duration is 1 hour (30 minutes outside and 30 minutes inside usually), you do not have to consider only the inside part as the Cathedral outside is beautiful and plenty of architecture masterpieces.
Anyway you could easly add our daily Duomo Rooftops tour at 10:30am or at 3:30pm in order to have a complete Duomo visit.

La scala was great. No one in our group could understand a word the Duomo guide said. Also she was not well informed but that may be due to our inability to understand her. La Scala guide and your logistics guide were great!

The theatre was beautiful, but only ten mins are you in the theatre then get 50 mins on a museum talk, and had to wait 20mins in the middle for another tour group to join for the cathedral.

this is a tour of the Scala Museum, during the museum visit all groups are allowed to visit the theatre ffrom one of the boxes only for few minutes, this is like this for everybody.
The small break from la Scala to Duomo it is normal and desn't affect the tour duration.
Furthemore you skip the line to get tickets for both attractions and you joined the group tour queue to enter inside the cathedral instead of the normal queue the is really slower.

The tour guide was quite fast to go through the Opera House of Milan. I felt he could have shown us more there.
The Duomo part of the tour was worthwhile. Plenty of time to admire the interior and exterior parts of the cathedral.

Unfortunately the boxes were not accessible on your tour date, but you could join 1 hour Scala Museum Tour and 1 hour Duomo Tour, so your 1 star review is absolutely not justified.

We have used Viator tours worldwide for several years and this was our first poor experience. We turned up at the meeting point of La scala Milan. When I eventually found the tour operator he told me I wasn’t on the tour. Obviously I had paid and had proof of payment. This did not change his mind. He said I had not confirmed a time change and ‘for this reason I could not go on the tour’. This was despite the fact that they had taken my money AFTER I had confirmed the time change. I then had to go through my emails on my phone to show I had confirmed. He then relented and bought us two tickets. A stressful start to a mixed tour. The guide herself was good and explained the history and various exhibits. However as the stage and foyer were closed we had to dash to the Duomo got the second part of the tour. This building was closing early which had led to the time change I mentioned earlier for this two location tour. Unfortunately we were not led straight to the Duomo as expected but to another meeting point for a large group tour ( This was sold as a small group). Some people were late which meant inside the Duomo we could only do part of the tour as we were asked to leave due to a special service. The rest of the group we discovered had tickets to explore the rooftop of the Duomo but not us ! We had to dash back to La Scala and complete the tour on our own with no guide. We also had the expense of returning to the Duomo the next day to go on the roof of the cathedral ( well worth doing). So all in all this was a very disjointed tour and did not provide values for money or a pleasant experience.

unfortunately the time change was due to Duomo Cathedral extraordinary closeure and you were informed accordingly, but you never confirmed us the safe receipt of our email.
For this reason the coordinator did not wait for you and, as per procedure, he asked you a voucher in order to check if your booking was valid or not (oral confirmation, as you may understand, is not enough).
Moreover we remind you that your tour included la Scala Museum and Duomo Cathedral not the rooftops as correctly reported in the tour descriprion: you shall not be surprised not to join something that was not included.
We suggest you for next time to double check all the info received.
