We were lucky to have Gerald who was a local Maltese with great English. His car was nice and clean and he was exactly on time for pick up (very conveniently in front of the apartment we rented). He offered a suggested route with stops and said he does this almost every day. The stops were perfect and he never made us feel rushed. The weather was rainy so we were thankful that he parked close and was always nearby for pickup when we were ready. We got a great taste of Malta. High winds prohibited us from being able to go to Gozo but he offered suggestions on how we could go ourselves another day and what to see while there.

It’s a tour that s concise without being too hectic . We covered , marsaxlokk. Haqar Qim , blue grotto Dengli cliff and Mdina .
Andre was our driver and he was very polite helpful and a safe driver .
For a short overview of Malta , this is perfect .

We did the half day and were pleased with all we saw. Our driver was informative while driving, then dropped us off to experience each of four places. We enjoyed walking through a market at a fishing village, views from highest point on Malta, the beautiful Blue Grotto and the midevil capital of M’dina.

We saw so much and Gerald was amazing! He scheduled our route to ensure we didn't end up at sites when there would be big busses. He was very explicit on meeting points and thoughtful about time. We highly recommend him!

Do NOT book with this company. The driver was over an hour late with no notice. We had to call. The excuses kept changing. Driver was on his phone 95% of time. Didn’t tell us anything about surroundings. In middle of tour driver dropped us off and didn’t come back for 1.5 hours. After 1 hour we started texting. He didn’t respond. Horrible customer service. When we complained the company offered 25% discount. Was not enough to compensate for missing several attractions on only day in Malta. Do not book with this company

Driver was an hour late and we had to chase to find out what was happening. This resulted in a shorter trip as everything was closing down.
Driver was very nice and knowledgeable and tried to give us a good experience but at times we were uncertain where we were going.

This excursion was 335 Euros and was supposed to be a guided tour. Our guide literally had No knowledge of the area. We would have been much better off on a Hop On Hop Off bus with pre recorded audio. She was pleasant and on time but NOT helpful and dropped us off a half hour early ! We left Medina and asked if we could ride through Rabat and she told us she had already turned and there was just a church there. Usually Viator has fantastic guides and excursions, this one definitely was NOT!

Hi Timothy, the chauffer tour is not a guided tour. So it wasn't supposed to be guided at all. We clearly mark this on the viator page.

Our driver Gabriel was really fantastic. So knowledgeable and obliging. Best way to see a place in a short time and less expensive than cruise ship tours. We saw what we wanted without the crowds. Will definitely do this again

We booked the private 4 hour driver and had expected that there would be a proposed itinerary to see key sites, given the description on Viator. While we knew there would not be a tour guide, based on all the reviews we expected the driver would give us an overview, tell some stories and help us get to know Malta. None of this happened. When we were picked up he asked where we wanted to go. We said Malta was new to us and expected that he would have a plan. He just handed me a book and asked what we wanted to see. The tour description was Malta, Gozo and Comino. When I said we would like to see Gozo he said no, we wouldn’t have enough time on the 4 hour trip. It says get insider recommendations for optimal routes but he gave none. We just started driving around. When asking questions about Malta he said he didn’t know, added no local insight or stories and stopped at only a couple places. We did end up going to Mdina for 75 minutes and walked around and then we were just driven back to Valletta and dropped off. It really was only a driver for 4 hours. If I knew that I would have booked a different tour that would have helped us see the key sites and get to know Malta. I wasn’t looking for just a driver or I would have called an Uber! The reviews told a much different story so I am not sure why our experience was so different.

One of our favorite places we stopped during our Cruise. Malta is BEAUTIFUL. And we had the best driver (Gerald, I believe) who would say that he wasn't a tour guide but told us so many wonderful stories about the island and the places we got to see.
He took us to the best places, we would stop to take photos, walk through a special community, or to see a scenic overlook and at the end of our trip made sure we had reservations at his favorite restaurant in the city. The whole thing was magical. I can't wait to go back!
For us, this was an excellent experience.

Our driver was a good guy and took us to all the places but there was no guide service involved. He would drop us off at a place and tell us to walk that way and that he would pick us up in a hour. It would have much cheaper to just hire a driver to take us to locations. So it was a good driving service but no guide service involved.

I had limited time and I myself am disabled and limited in what I can do. I let the owner know of my wishes ahead of time via communications on here. David drove me where I wanted to go plus some. He suggested and took me to a couple of places I wouldn't have known about that were gorgeous. He also stopped by the market for me at my request to grab water for my hotel room. Because of my limited walking, he dropped me off as close to possible to the sites. I have taken several similar tours in other countries and David is as good as it gets. He said I was the first person to want to go at sunrise but I got some lovely sunrise photos behind a fishing village and it was all worth it.
