Itinerary

Meet your guide near Madrid’s Royal Palace and hop onto your provided Segway. Don the supplied helmet, and after practicing on your personal transporter, set off behind your guide.

Cruise through the delightful Sabatini Gardens behind the Royal Palace, admiring the one-time home of Spain’s royals from the tree-lined pathways. Then, navigate the St. Vincent Road (Cuesta de San Vicente) to the St. Vincent Gate (Puerta da San Vincente), once part of Madrid’s 18th-century city walls, before crossing the King’s Bridge (Puente del Rey) over the River Manzanares into Casa de Campo.

Madrid’s largest park, this sprawling green space centers on a lake and was formerly a royal hunting estate before becoming a park in 1931.

Soak in the tranquility as you trace the lakeside paths and woodland trails, and see points of interest such as old Spanish Civil War trenches, the Serpent’s Bridge (Puente de la Culebra), an aqueduct, and the park’s zoo and amusement park.

Climb a hillside for sweeping views of Madrid’s skyline, and circle the restored, 16th-century vegetable and medicinal plant gardens (Huerta de la Partida), that once produced food for the Casa de Campo palace.

Finally, return to the city center where your tour ends.

Not many Segway tours are available on a Monday but this group is. Even though only three of us booked the tour, two staff tooks on a great tour. Allejandro was the guide and did a great job explaining things in English.
