Hop aboard your air-conditioned coach at London's Victoria Coach Station and settle in for the journey west to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stonehenge. Nobody truly knows the origins of this ancient stone circle, but with a history shrouded in mystery, it remains one of England’s top visitor attractions.

On arrival at the site, pick up your free audio guide and begin exploring independently. Listen to the various theories behind the stones’ curious formation and imagine the uses to which the site could have been put 5,000 years ago.

During your visit, stroll around the 40-ton (36-tonne) stones and wonder how they could possibly have been carried here thousands of years ago. Capture the rock formation through the lens of your camera and admire the bluestone rocks in the interior of the circle. With the evidence laid out before you, come to your own conclusions regarding their significance to the site.

When it’s time to leave Stonehenge behind, hop back aboard your coach for the return journey to London, where your tour will come to an end at the same place it began.

Was recommended this experience by a friend and it did not disappoint! the bus picked us up from Victoria coach station right on time, our guide was great and handed out the audio guides when we got on. The drive there was pleasant and once in the country it was stunning. The extended time is worth it! we had time to take pictures, have a picnic, and get to visit the gift shop. Overall, i highly recommend this tour!

Bus ride trauma

We understood that the temperatures would be a bit high, so we went prepared with sunscreen, hats, an umbrella because our excursion was in June. I don’t need to talk about the actual stones because for us it was amazing to experience and see them. My biggest complaint would be with the crew of Evan Evans who managed the trip; as other Tours, for being ushered to luxury buses, we received the worst bus because it was a double-decker bus like hop-on hop-off. Truly uncomfortable, and for a five hour journey the least they could’ve done was gotten us a better more comfortable bus.

On the bus ride to Stonehenge, there were no vents circulating air so it was hot & stuffy. I used CHAT to notify Viator of this matter. Someone on board did immediately address the issue & got the vents working but the air was so cool that we were all freezing & grabbing for jackets we did not bring along - unfortunately. “Climate control” should have been someone’s responsibility - the comfort of your patrons should be a top priority. At Stonehenge we were given ear phones & an audio gadget so we could do a self-guided tour of the monument. Of the 5 in our group, only 2 were able to hear the presentation. One gadget simply died, 2 others kept changing from English to Italian. It would have been far more beneficial to have had 2 guides from Viator join our bus & give a personal presentation. We returned home & Googled “Stonehenge” to get the information needed to better understand what we’d just seen. Ps - Our bus driver did a great job maneuvering safely through morning rush hour traffic. Much appreciated.

Tour itself was good, your company was disorganized. Bus broke down, no communication with guests. After 30 minutes it broke down again. Waited again finally after people complained, they announced another bus was coming but not sure when it would arrive. First bus has no bathroom facility. After 2 hour delay we again got started. We drove about an hour to a comfort stop. They gave 5 minutes for restroom break but didn't know where it was. A double decker bus full of people and find bathroom on your own and 5 minutes. Once we got to Stonehenge, everything was good. Finally arrived back in London 3 hours later than we were supposed to. Almost missed our next activity. No apologies for 6 hours tour to take 9 and the inconvenience it caused.

Long Day to Stonehenge

We enjoyed this trip, but you need to be aware that Stonehenge is a long way fro London and mkst of the day is spent in the bus. We had 2 hours at Stonehenge which was enough. Make sure to catch the shuttle as it is a 2km walk from the visitor centre to Stonehenge. Fortjnately it was not too crowded on the day we went but there was a constant stream of coaches arriving. Our coach was very comfortable, double decker and not crowded. Pleaes be aware that arrival back into London will be much later than the 3.30pm on the information. We did not get back untip 5pm. A bucket list trip for me so happy to do the traveĺ time.

Stonehenge Rocks Even in the Rain

It’s convenient and definitely worth seeing. Make sure you have a cellphone and earbuds as the audio guide is downloaded to your phone. There was no commentary along the way. The guide was clear in his few directions for timing. A good way to see an impressive site.

Perfect half day trip

The timing was great. Not too early in the morning. I wish the app would’ve told me which gate the bus left from. The “meeting place” only said the bus station. I had to ask in the app which gate. Two hours at Stonehenge is the right amount. Enough to see it and the visitor center, gift shop, and a bite. This didn’t disappoint.

Disappointed!

Was not notified that we were scheduled on the opening day of parliament and that some bus routes changed and many streets were closed. So we left our hotel one hour early for a 15 minute trip. 45 minutes later we were 10 blocks from our hotel and the cab driver said we were still 40 minutes from the meeting point. We called customer service and they said if we get there after the starting time the bus will have left and we would not get a refund. I think the tour company should notify guests about things happening in the city that they operate so customers could plan accordingly. And… will all of the money you take in from this tour. You could certainly afford to provide us a refund! Our once in a lifetime trip to London was negatively impacted by this experience. You could have made a difference in our experience. IO will not recommend your company to other travelers. Many other organizations offer trips to the beautiful spot of Stonehenge.

Fantastic site but crappy transport

The transport was the problem. We were supposed to have a coach but we ended up with a city bus modify to carry more people. So we were very unconfortable for 2 hours. I did not have enough space for my legs.

This tour was about 4 hours round trip travel with 2 hours to walk around the site, etc. You could circle the stones, take videos and photos and experience the site in your own way. I recommend taking the gold shuttle to the site rather than walk as it saves time. Basically Evans Evans took care of getting you there and your entrance was handled so easily. I highly recommend this tour.

I was worried about the negative reviews but my experience was a positive one. the day before, I called to confirm that the meeting point was indeed Victoria Coach Station, gate 1. The moment I entered I saw staff from Evan Evans Tours who greeted us. the bus left punctually at 930am. we ended up returning at around 415pm instead of 330pm purely due to traffic conditions. overall excellent value for the transport and ticket.

Disappointing 1/2 day trip to Stonehenge today.

A “Half day” trip is not really a half day trip. we boarded the bus at.9:15am and did not return to St. Pancras bus terminal until 4:40 PM. We Completely missed out on our afternoon plans plans with friends and frankly, this should have been advertised as more of a day trip. The facilities were not functioning. Also, getting to the bus and finding the bus terminal was not easy. There was no proper signage / directions from the San Andreas train station to San Andreas bus station. It’s very confusing due to the fact. that there are many buses at the St Pancreas main station itself.

Evan Evans Tours - Don’t Use

Very poor communication from the tour company. The directions to the pick location gave a generic location and we were there 25 minutes early. Had to contact the tour company through chat and that is when they told to go inside to a gate. Arrived at the gate at the pick up time and the bus had already left. They knew we were there and left us there. We were traveling with a person in a wheelchair and it makes me wonder if they didn’t want to deal with us. They are refusing to give a refund or an opportunity for a future tour. Note that Viator provided no support. I will not use either companies in the future and I do travel a lot. We have traveled all around the world and have done many tours this was the first time we have ever had this happen.

Stonehenge - Amazing. Travel - not so much

You meet at a bus station, where a lot of other tour groups meet and it's a bit confusing to find where you're supposed to be. Give yourself plenty of time to wander around asking. The bus we were on was not completely full, if it had been, it would have been fairly uncomfortable. It also took 2 hours to get there with traffic. The bus takes you right to the welcome station for Stonehenge with a gift shop, restrooms and cafe. There, you can get on a shuttle that takes you right up to Stonehenge. You get an audio tour of the monument which is educational but you don't have much time to explore if you want time to get lunch, go to the restroom and shop. The cafe is absolutely packed and getting anything fresh was out of the question. On the way home, for almost an hour and a half, the AC was barely working on the bus which was very uncomfortable. Also, the bus dropped us at off at a totally different place than was listed in the description. Which made us late to our next reservation.

Amazing!

We had an incredible trip to Stonehenge, and visiting this historic site was an unforgettable experience, even though it was pouring rain when we arrived! Luckily, the rain stopped long enough for us to fully enjoy the site and take some photos. A few things to note about the tour: it departs from Victoria Coach Station, not the Evan Evans location. Although it’s advertised as a half-day tour, it ended up taking much longer due to traffic. Once you arrive at Stonehenge, you need to take a shuttle bus to get closer to the stones. After getting off the shuttle, there are no clear signs pointing to the stones, and since they aren’t immediately visible, it can be a bit confusing, especially in torrential rain! Still, we managed to find our way. Our on the bus guide, Sara, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She guided us to the shuttle buses but remember, this is a self-guided tour of the site. We were provided with headsets that gave us a detailed history of Stonehenge. Overall, I highly recommend this tour! The English countryside is beautiful, and the journey itself adds to the charm of the experience.

Confusing Instructions for Tour/No Refund

There were 2 meeting locations for this tour sent to me which was extremely confusing. We went to the first address but it was wrong. Staff in the Evan Evans office informed us to go to the other location. We were told we would make the tour. We ran and arrived for 10:30 tour at 10:34 but the bus left without us. Viator refused to reschedule us for later that day or a different day. They also have refused to refund us. We have lost out on seeing Stonehenge & $200. Unfortunately we will not use Viator again due to this negative experience.

Stonehenge tour

The experience of Stonehenge was spectacular.. This tour was pretty much just picking you up and getting you there.. with recorded listening devices once you were there. I’ve come to expect more from Viator, as most of our experiences have been spectacular.. Nothing went wrong or poorly, I’m just use to a more guided experience with Viator.. One major negative point.. You are showing two pick up location.. That was not the case for us. The first address is their office.. we had to hustle to the second location to make our bus.. Victoria Coach Station.
