Avoid. We waited almost two hours for the bus and was told that we still had to transfer to another bus further along the route. While waiting for this bus, we saw busses of other companies picking up people every half hour. We were given headphones but very little commentary. I strongly suggest that people book with another company of they don't want to waste their tume.

We loved this tour bus. It was a great way to see all the sights. It allowed us to hop on and off wherever we wanted and look around. It was easier to use than the tube.

Two out of the three times we tried to catch a bus today it never showed up. The bus we did catch was great so I am not sure if they had bus issues today or its always this bad. Every time we were waiting we saw all of the other companies come and go several times. I suggest a different one. The Hop on Hop off is a great activity though.

Great way to see the city! We booked the 48 hour hop on/off bus with the city cruise. It’s easy to find the stops and staff at most stops to answer questions. The cruise was a nice treat and we got great pics of both Tower Bridge and the London Eye.

Difficult to find pickup locations. Protest disrupted service which is understandable but many conflicting stories were given. No announcements made at stops. Then I waited over 1/2 hour and no bus ever returned and I had to walk to a tube station.

We booked these tickets with high hopes. However, no directions were ever given as to where the stops were. We found their website and it noted the landmarks you would see, but never where you had to be at the landmarks in order to catch the bus. Even their app was unusable and therefore unhelpful. We were unable to enjoy our tickets and also denied a refund without reason. I would NOT recommend this company. There are plenty of other hop on hop off companies to choose from and I will be making a different choice next time I visit London.

Without question the most horrible travel experience I have ever experienced. I booked the London Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus tour. I was given the wrong point to meet the bus (I was told to go to the Royal College of Music Museum). After two hours (and numerous calls to Viator (almost off of which ended up with a "dropped" calls), two hours waiting in the rain and cold, I was told that I was given the wrong information by Viator. The bus does not stop there. I was then told to go to Royal Albert Hall. My companions and I walked there, waited for over an hour, called Viator numerous times, and--still no tour bus. Another call and I was told the bus doesn't stop there either. I was then told to go to Harrods to meet the bus. We walked to Harrods--quite a distance for women in their 60s and 80s, in the cold and rain, with soaking wet feet at that point--but we did it. Two more hours waiting, and no tour bus. We finally gave up and went back to our hotel. We lost a full day of our trip, I sent 6 messages to the tour guide that were never answered, we were sent to 3 different locations in London, none of which were correct, and we spent almost 8 hours in the rain and cold looking for a tour bus that never came. In addition, we spent 100 pounds (about $135) on taxis to and from our hotel plus $130 for a tour we were never able to take. Viator operators hung up on me--oh, sorry, I mean we were "mistakenly disconnected" a dozen times. When I asked for a refund, I was told it would be "requested". We all know what that means, don't we? Absolutely unacceptable.

What you describe is absolutely not the experience we want any of our guests to have, especially after traveling such long distances and in challenging weather conditions. We are particularly sorry to hear about the incorrect meeting point information you received and the repeated directions to locations where our buses do not operate. We understand how exhausting and upsetting it must have been; especially for travelers in their 60s and 80s; to walk long distances in cold and rainy conditions while trying to locate a service that never arrived.
Please allow us to clarify that City Sightseeing London buses operate from clearly designated stops, and we do not use meeting points such as museums or venues. Unfortunately, it seems there was a serious breakdown in the information provided to you by the third-party platform through which the tickets were purchased. That said, we fully acknowledge the impact this had on your day and do not take your experience lightly.
We are also very concerned to hear about the lack of responses, the excessive waiting times, and the additional costs you incurred. This feedback has been shared internally, as well as with our distribution partners, so these issues can be addressed and prevented in the future.
While refund handling for bookings made via Viator must be managed through their platform, we strongly encourage you to continue following up with them, referencing this situation in detail. We will, of course, support any investigation they carry out from their side if required.

You are not given the information you need. When I signed up I thought it was hop on hop off 2 1/2 hr tour. On the SAME bus.You must take three different color tours to see everything. The headsets are poor quality and the volume level is to LOW. None of this was explained on pre trip.

I had trouble finding the pick up location. I asked a couple people and the second person sent me to the City Sightseeing office. A manager just happened to be there and he hailed down a bus for me. Once I was on the bus it was great. The sun goes down early in November and part of my ride was in the dark. Two days later I bought another ticket and went for another ride. Great!

Very disappointing experience! We ended up spending more time waiting for the bus and sitting at stops than riding the bus. The app was unreliable and we found poor communication at the stops as we sat at one stop for 20+ minutes with only a message we would be stopping for a few minutes. It was disappointing and we only ended up using one day of our pass because we feared getting stuck on it or waiting.

The idea of this activity is super cool, but unfortunately I have to recommend another company, and possibly even booking through another platform (TripAdvisor or GetYourGuide for example).
I received no information from Viator or this company regarding where to meet, where to find the bus routes, the schedule of the buses, etc. We took the train from Paris to London, and once we arrived, there was no signage in the train station or outside at any of the metro bus stops. We had to google various hop on-hop off bus tour companies in the city to figure out where ours was supposed to meet. This led to a very rough and irritating start.
This company does have an app which is great in theory, but only moderate in practice. We weren’t informed about this app until we finally found the right bus and the driver suggested we download it. It is supposed to provide live bus locations, but once those load on the map, they don’t refresh. To get updated bus locations, I had to force close and reopen the app.
All in all, a very cool idea, and we did get to see some amazing sights. But there needed to be some kind of information sent out ahead of time.

Excellent way to safely develop an understanding of London geography during the first 48 hours in London. Stops were intelligently placed everywhere you'd want to be. After 48 hrs we found we could navigate by tube and on foot efficiently. Note that there are multiple double decker bus lines using the same stops and they are often just a different shade of red.

Traffic in London can make it difficult to get from one stop to another. Attendants at the stops are generally helpful.

For travelers who have limited time in which to see London, the Red route covered all the most iconic sights, and we especially liked going over thr London Bridge. A minus was that the recorded narration doesn't always match up with what was in our view at the moment, and a couple stops require a longer wait if you are not leaving the bus.

Hop on Hop Off portion no problem. I had been up for the last 30 hours. I cut the cruise short to return to starting point. Before getting off they said it would be a short turnaround, another boat would be there shortly. This was about 4pm. After getting off and getting back in line for arrival of the next boat, they said be back in line by 5pm. As it turns out, it was the same boat I was on before. If I would have known that, I would stayed on board and for the complete cruise.

For most part 2 out of 3 activities were amazing and outstanding. the hop on hop off and the London Eye portions. We were assured that this also included a one way cruise. on the Thames river. It was also stated in the included activities summary. When we got to London and tried to get on the cruise. we were it was not included. Even though i showed where it was stated it was included. So we were tight on time that day and went ahead and paid for 4 tickets thinking i could take care of it with VIATOR upon return home. when i contacted VIATOR they twice denied my claim for reimbursement of the additional tickets i had to buy. even though they supposedly had a recording of my initial prepurchase of the tour and the written description of included activities. Needless to say this is not taking care of your customers.

Very convenient and excellent narration of London history. We rode the blue and red lines with timely connections. Only mix up came at the end when we couldn't tell if we'd missed our last bus (app didn't update). We then used public transportation to get back to our hotel easily. We'd definitely do it again.
