Great way to see the city. Sound narrative good along the the occasional in person dialog. Boat ride also very good. All busses clean and well kept along with the boat.

Always a great idea!

Ellen_B, Mar 2026
A wonderful way to catch the hot spots and makes it easy to return to places of interest. The included boat ride down the Thames was such a nice addition. We have used the gray line service in other cities and done a full circle tour first then double back to places of interest.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback. We’re delighted to hear that our tour provided a convenient and enjoyable way to explore the city’s highlights. It’s great to know you appreciated the Thames boat ride as well—it's certainly a memorable addition to the experience. We’re also pleased that our service continues to meet your expectations across different cities. We look forward to welcoming you on board again for more memorable journeys.

Scenic bus tour

Gary_R, Feb 2026
Be aware that road closures and protests will delay the expected time of spots. Due to time we were to board which wax after 4, we only were able to use the bus two hours. We paid with expectation of 4 hours without anyone letting us know in advance it would not be possible to have a round trip back to our first stop. We enjoyed the 1 hr 45 min and hope to get out there again tomorrow

Horrible Horible

Sean_D, Feb 2026
Absolutely horrible do not book with them. Waited for over 1 hr for pickup never came. Wife called and requested refund in which they rejected. Payed 116.00 dor 1 stop. Booked with another hop on company who sent buses every 15 min. This company should be ashamed of themselves. Do not book GOLDEN TOURS!?

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about the experience you had. In order for us to look into this matter thoroughly, we will need a few more details from you so that we can check the service logs and investigate what may have happened on the day. Could you please provide the following information: • The bus stop number(s) where you were waiting • The route you intended to take (Red, Blue, or Orange) • How long you waited at each stop • The approximate time of day If the issue occurred on more than one day, please also confirm the date(s) for each instance. To help you identify the stop and route, you can refer to our route map and timetable here: https://d1wgio6yfhqlw1.cloudfront.net/UserFiles/file/london-hop-on-hop-off-map.pdf. and email us on customerservices@goldentours.com Once we have these details, we will be able to investigate this further and assist you accordingly. We look forward to your response.

Christmas week in London.

David_L, Dec 2025
Two drivers declined to honor my Viator digital ticket. I had to contact the bus company to get a ticket emailed that the driver accepted. I also thought the map of their stops should be more prominent. I didn’t have that at first and struggled to find the pick up spot closest to my hotel. The ride and commentary was fine. It was the challenges to getting started that frustrated.

Worst city tour

Jennifer_B, Dec 2025
Bus was supposed to come every 30 minutes but did not. Once we finally got on the bus it was so slow and awful. Every few stops the staff needed to take a smoke break. Very unprofessional, do not recommend.

Hop Off this Tour

Shari_C, Nov 2025
I would find exactly where the stops are before you buy this tour. I spent all day walking around London, trying to find the pick up points and could not. A waste of money.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced finding the pick-up points for your tour. We understand how frustrating it can be to spend time searching, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused. To help resolve this and ensure a smoother experience in the future, we recommend contacting our Customer Service team at customerservice@goldentours.com , and they will be happy to provide detailed information and guidance regarding tour pick-up locations. Hop On Bus

Mary_K, Oct 2025
We had a 4 hour tour of London on the Hop on Hop Off bus. At the finish, we mentioned we wanted to see the London Eye. The bus driver immediately took us to the agent who board us before. He lined us up with tickets for the Eye. We still had time left on our 4 hour tour ticket, so they took us free of charge to where the London Eye was located. Excellent service

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that our team went above and beyond to ensure you could enjoy the London Eye, and that you found the service during your 4-hour tour exceptional. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with the driver and staff — they’ll be thrilled!

Gray Line was great Viator not so much

wardtp1, Oct 2025
The hop on hop off bus is a great way to see the sights of London. The equipment is in good shape and the personnel are friendly and helpful. The Viator website has a glitch that you have to be very careful of when you book yours. You can set a date you want the tour to happen on but the website will change it and you may not be aware that happened. This can cause you to book and at for a day that will not work for you. The Viator Customer Service will tell you they can not do anything to help and you need to contact the tour operators directly. This can be tricky sometimes. They could also tell you that the tour has been booked for outside the refundable time and tell you again there is nothing they can do. This is wholly a Biator website issue that they do not seem to want to fix so be very careful booking with them

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you for your review and for highlighting both the positive aspects of our hop-on hop-off service and the issues you experienced with the Viator booking process. We’re glad to hear you found our buses in good condition and our staff friendly and helpful. Regarding booking, we recommend always double-checking the tour date confirmation directly with us after completing your Viator booking to ensure everything is correct. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to support our guests in navigating any booking issues.

Bus never came

John_J, Oct 2025
We never got to ride this bus. We waited for an hour at the KB bus stop outside Harrods. A bus never came. We asked for a refund and the request was declined. This was a waste of money.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and that you missed the bus at the KB stop. We understand how frustrating this must have been. Our hop-on hop-off buses run on scheduled routes, and delays can sometimes occur due to traffic or operational issues. Refunds are handled according to our company policy, which is why your request may have been declined. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will share your feedback with our operations team to help improve clarity and reliability at all stops.

The live guide mumbled...

Kimberly_F, Oct 2025
The live guide mumbled and spent the whole time shopping and reading news articles on his telephone.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. This is certainly not the standard we expect from our guides. We appreciate your feedback and will ensure it is reviewed so that future guests receive the engaging, knowledgeable commentary they expect.

Dharmesh_c, Sep 2025
We had great time for sightseeing. The drivers are very helpful and courteous. We switched from blue to red line all went well. Thank you.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a great time sightseeing and that our drivers were helpful and courteous. We’re glad the switch from the Blue to Red line went smoothly. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon!

Difficult to find - no refunds

Lisa_H, Sep 2025
From where we were staying in central London, we could not find a bus stop to get on the first day. A refund was requested because we never got on a bus and the refund was rejected. So much easier to book in London with other companies right on the street.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

hank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were unable to locate our bus stops during your visit. The best way to find a stop is by using our App, which displays an image of what each stop looks like and provides linked directions to the exact location. You can also locate stops using our physical maps or through what3words for precise navigation. We regret that these methods did not help on this occasion and appreciate your comments, which we will take into account as we continue to improve our service.

Hop on hop off worth the time

Maureen_H, Sep 2025
Very crowded and we had to sit down in the bus. Harder to see the attractions BUT it was rainy so less chance of getting wet.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that the tour offered some protection from the rain. We understand that crowded conditions and having to remain seated can make it harder to see the attractions, and we appreciate your patience. Your comments are valuable and will help us consider ways to improve the viewing experience for future guests.

Choose another vendor

Betty_L, Sep 2025
This was not a narrated tour. It was simply a bus ride. And the driver was rude and unpleasant. This was not what was expected or advertised.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We’re very sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. It’s concerning to learn that the tour did not meet your expectations, and that the driver’s behavior was rude and unpleasant. We understand how frustrating it can be when a service is not delivered as advertised. Your feedback will be shared with the team to ensure clearer communication about the tour format and to address staff conduct, so future guests have the experience they expect.

UK London

Chris_C, Sep 2025
Great way to see the city. Sound narrative good along the the occasional in person dialog. Boat ride also very good. All busses clean and well kept along with the boat.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the city tour, both from the bus with the narrative and during the occasional in-person commentary. It’s great to know that the boat ride added to your experience, and that you found both the buses and the boat clean and well-maintained. Your positive feedback about the overall quality of the tour and the comfort of the vehicles is much appreciated!

Taking the bus is very...

Denise_W, Aug 2025
Taking the bus is very slow due to traffic congestion. The tube is much faster and less confusing for those who have a schedule to keep. If you don’t care about timing then sit up top for the view. All the drivers were very helpful and nice.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that our drivers were helpful and friendly. You’re right—traffic congestion can affect bus travel times, so the hop-on hop-off experience is best for those who want to enjoy the sights at a more leisurely pace. Sitting on the top deck is a great way to take in the views, and we appreciate your tips for fellow travellers who may be on a tighter schedule.

Great way to see London, especially on first day!

Pam_R, Aug 2025
The routes, the commentaries and the views were spectacular! It was a great introduction to the city! Would highly recommend seeing London this way!

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the routes, commentaries, and views, and that the tour provided such a great introduction to London. Your recommendation means a lot, and we hope to welcome you on another tour soon!

Hit or miss

Diana_P, Jul 2025
Tim was a fabulous in person tour guide! Moses was a great driver. Our other 2 hop on buses did not have live guides and that was a major disappointment. Very uninteresting drive without live guides.

Response from Host, Aug 2025

Thank you for your feedback! We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed Tim’s live guiding and Moses’ driving. We’re sorry to hear the other buses didn’t meet your expectations—your comments are noted and appreciated as we work to improve consistency across all tours.

London hop on hop off

Mike was amazing in his guidance! He was super funny and really kind. He certainly made our experience better. I suggest riding though once and then making your stops. It really gives you a better idea of where everything is and how much is walkable!

Not good, at least this time. No audio so we drove around the city with no idea of where we were....

Our guide, Mark, was wonderful! Extremely knowledgeable, excitingly entertaining story teller and historian. We were even fortunate enough to see King Charles on his way to Buckingham Palace. Highly recommend!

Poor service

Temukisa_V, May 2025
The bus was extremely late and the next bus did not pick up passengers. Very disappointed. Won't use it again.

Not a good experience...

Layne_S, May 2025
Not a good experience with this company. The only interaction we had that was positive was when one of their employees was at a stop and helped us figure out where to go. We had the app to track the buses and where they stopped, and we sat at one of the stops for almost 45 minutes without any of the buses showing up - the sign next to the stop said that was one of their stops, so we know we weren’t in the wrong place. In that same time, we saw 2 other bus tour companies’ busses a total of 7 times. The other two main companies are Big Bus Tours and City Sightseeing, go with one of them instead. They seem to be more consistent with their routes and are worth the money, but this company is not.

Good / friendly service

Crsig_W, May 2025
We enjoyed it and was worth the money paid… but if you are in a hurry and want to hop on / hop off quickly maybe take other systems with more buses

Plan route ahead of time

Great way to see London. Easy to get on and off throughout the day. We waited 45 minutes and ended up taking a taxi to marble arch to start because we understood a golden tours rep would be there to assist. Without the map and qr code we would have been very frustrated

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad you found the hop-on, hop-off tour a great way to explore London and that the map and QR code helped make your journey smoother. However, we’re sorry to hear about the wait time and the inconvenience it caused. We understand how important it is for the service to be timely and well-coordinated, and we appreciate your feedback. We’ll certainly pass this along to our team to improve communication and ensure a smoother experience for future guests. If there's anything else we can do to make it right, please let us know. We hope to welcome you on board again soon! 🚍😊

Waste of money

Don't waste your money and time. Worst tour experience I've ever had. Audio awful. Staff not helpful. Viator not responsive with poor experience.

We're truly sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the level of service we strive to provide. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team to improve. If you'd like to discuss this further, please reach out to us directly—we'd love the opportunity to make things right.

A long, fun day

Amanda_R, Nov 2024
The bus drivers were mixed with friendly and grouchy drivers, but all the people on the sidewalk bus stops were very friendly and helpful. One day is not enough! Start early, so you can get in a few sites in, while others you can see from the bus.
