There is a lot of walking...

Gregory_B, Sep 2025
There is a lot of walking and some areas are noisy. Due to the noise I missed some of the explanations. Our guide was entertaining and well versed.

Fantastic

Lovely little museum with lots of interesting information. The walking tour was excellent with the guide having so much knowledge. A great experience!

Great experience.

Andre was extremely knowledgeable and the projector was the cherry on top. He kept the momentum going and we had a great time. Other reviews commented on the museum - here is my take. The time gap is annoying… but fits as the tour wouldn’t be as good in the light hours of the day. While it’s short there are plenty of food spots and pubs to keep you entertained. The museum itself was okay. Self guided tour - small. Not much to see but I would say worth it as a prep ESPECIALLY if you’re a JTR novice.

Overall worth it!

The museum was an okay way to get you ready for the tour. The wait between the museum and tour was too long (an hour and a half). The museum nor the tour guide recognized my ticket. The tour was great led by Alan.

Why was I sent to a museum that was closed!!!!!

Patricia_M, Apr 2024
The actual tour was fine. The instructions said to go to the Ripper museum first but that was closed. Very unhappy with Viator!!!! No more Viator bookings for me!!!!

Great tour great tour guide

Tour guide Alan was very good and entertaining. Got to see the locations and learnt new information and the projector was a nice touch.

Mick was the best!!!

shannon_b, Jul 2023
We had Mick as our guide and couldn’t have been more thrilled. It was a large group of around 30 but he made sure we could all hear him do it was no problem. His passion for the history was energizing and the tour never felt dull. The projection at the end was great.

So much fun!

Guide was lively and very knowledgeable about the case! Loved walking the old streets and seeing the photos of what everything used to be like there.

The walking tour saved the experience.

I feel awful rating this experience so low because the walking tour part of it was excellent. The museum however, was awful! Honestly my advice, skip the museum part and just pay for the walking tour. We booked them both because we had some time to waste before the walking tour. When we booked the tickets, our time given to enter the museum was 5.30. Not being local to London we got there at 5pm as we didn't realise how close we were to it. It was pouring with rain so I initially went in to ask the lady working there if we could wait inside the little shop until our time to enter the museum came, to which she replied, you can but if I was you I'd go into the museum now as we close at 6! So we quickly went round the museum which to be honest, only took 5 minutes. There was hardly anything actually connected to Jack the ripper, well not anything you couldn't Google. Throughly disappointed considering the whole thing was £113 with the walking tour. We thought when we booked it that they gave us the time 5.30pm so we had enough time in the museum (e.g an hour or so to look round and have time to get to our walking tour by 7.20) Well after 5 minutes in the museum because that's all it took us to walk round it, we then had about 2 hours to wait for our walking tour, which we didn't realise wasn't connected to the museum at all. Eventually we found a restaurant and waited it out. The only reason I'm not asking for a refund is because the walking tour was absolutely incredible. Andre was fantastic. Absolutely entertaining and luckily the rain stopped. My advice to all. By pass this deal and just book the walking tour by itself.

If youre a Ripper fan : the museum is excellent. This is a niche part of London's history, so if youre a real fan like i mention : then the museum caters for you :)

Museum good, tour great

August_R, Oct 2022
The museum was cool, but you can get through it in 30-40 mins, which leaves a decent amount of time to grab food (Indian). Jamie was a great guide for the tour. Learned a lot!

Great experience

JOEY_D, Sep 2022
The walking tour was simply amazing!! Having dealt with Geoff and top sights before, i can say that the tour is well organized. Now the for the negative part; since there are quite a few group meeting up at the same spot around the same time, you can easily get confused, be careful! Also, the museum isnt that great and you will learn far more on the walking tour. Dont book the museum unless you are an hardcore "fan" of Jack the Ripper.
