Itinerary

Depart from a central London location and feel your heart rate quicken as you set out into the night. Pop in your technologically advanced Vox headphones and visualize Victorian London as your guide sets the sinister scene; imagine the darkened alleys of the East End and feel the paralyzing fear of locals who have just discovered a vicious serial killer is at large.

Venture past the dim and dreadful Drury Lane to discover terrifying tales about London’s most haunted theater; see the imposing structure of the Old Bailey, an old courthouse at which countless public executions occurred; and, visit the former residence of the demonic barber Sweeney Todd on Fleet Street, whose accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, baked pies containing the flesh of his victims.

Arrive at Whitechapel and disembark your coach to explore some the unnerving murder sites of Jack the Ripper. Hear gruesome tales of grisly murders and discuss some of the prime suspects with your guide, discovering that even Queen Victoria’s grandson was suspected. Stroll past the Ten Bell’s Pub, a favorite social spot of Jack the Ripper’s innocent victims, then conclude your tour with a calming drink (own expense) in an ambient Trafalgar Square pub.

Horrible experience. More like Jack the Trip Skipper

Kevin_K, Aug 2023
Booked online via Viator. Showed up very early at the meeting point. Waited until 30 minutes past the meeting time. No guide ever showed up. Reached out to Viator and awaiting refund. Would not recommend.

Awesome and Creepy all at the same time!

Mary_Z, Jan 2023
We wanted a spooky adventure while in London and got it with the Jack the Ripper tour. Our guide walked us through the streets and brought the story to life. Standing where the victims once stood, while it was dark and drizzling, was cool and creepy. The fish and chips sampler was awesome also. Would highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a bit of the darker side of London!

Jack the Ripper

Natalie_M, Dec 2022
We did the Jack the Ripper tour. Our tour guide John was extremely knowledgeable about Jack the Ripper and the history of London. The tour starts with a coach bus tour of London and then you walk for the Jack the Ripper tour. We also got free fish and chips. You get a lot in this tour for the low price. You won’t regret it. Book now!

Response from Host, Jan 2023

An enjoyable tour!

Denver_J, Nov 2022
John was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. J.C. our driver did an exceptional job navigating during what seemed to be very heavy traffic. All members of our family were pleased with our experience. Well worth doing a highlight of our trip to London.

The Real Jack the Ripper Story

Arnold_R, Sep 2022
The manner in which our tour guide, John Steel, told us about the murders made the tour suspenseful and informative. The short stop for fish & chips was enjoyable. If you go make sure to book a nighttime tour and don’t stray down any dark deserted streets.

Response from Host, Sep 2022

Very eerie, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Meshari_A, Dec 2020
John was easily one of the best tour guides I ever had (and I went to a million tours) so that must tell you something about him. Don't know how he did it, but I really felt like being in 1888. One of the best tours in London honestly. You shouldn't miss it really.

Ok not great

Sarah_T, Mar 2020
Reception was frosty - the. Our guide John was a little condescending and robotic . Loved the information and locations and the fish and chips was delicious .

A GREAT DARK NIGHT!

adam_K, Dec 2019
Did this in Oct. A great cool crisp night. Perfect for this tour! John was great with lots of detailed knowledge of all the crimes Very passionate about the story. Stopping for fish and chips was a nice treat. Was a surprise for my husband who loved it as well. Would def recommend to others

Great Tour!

DandDH, Oct 2019
Our guide on this tour was John. He is extremely knowledgable and a very passionate story teller. The tour itself was very good, but John made it even better. As an added bonus, we stopped for a small serving of authentic fish and chips. We highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely fantastic

Jason_B, Sep 2019
Our driver Nicholas and our tour guide Rhys were friendly and perfectly punctual for the beginning of our tour. Rhys is very knowledgeable on all aspects of the tour, from the short bus trip past some major historical points of interest and points of interest which are key to the story of the white chapel murders. The vox box system was perfect to be able to hear our tour guide as we walked the narrow darkened streets and the fish and chips was a really brilliant extra! Nicholas’ driving through the streets must be commended also, safety was high on both of the driver and tour guides agenda. Highly recommend this tour even if your not a “ripper” fan, you will be afterwards 😜

Wonderful tour. Guide really knew his material and the entire evening was delightful. Thanks to our guide, John.

Super knowledgeable tour guide.

Great time with detailed knowledge of all the crimes. Nice stop for a fish and chip snack. The area has changed a lot but our guide did a great job of painting a picture with words

Jack the Ripper and Haunted London Tour

One Heck of a Storyteller

Jessica_S, Jul 2019
This is an ideal tour for anyone interested in learning about not only Jack the Ripper, but life in 1880s London. As fans of the show Ripper Street, this was a must for us and the tour guide delivered! John was an incredible storyteller who made the past come alive through his detailed reconstruction of Jack's crimes. Highly recommend the tour company Evan Evans, the bus and John the guide!

Excellent tour

jennifer_l, Jul 2019
Excellent guide and bus driver Gave an informative an entertaining tour. Would highly recommend this tour

Amazing Tour

Valentina_H, Jul 2019
It was an amazing tour to all the spots of Jack the Rippers murders. John, our guide, was very enthusiastic and he showed a lot of knowledge of this topic. He even gave us general information on London's history. I would recommend this tour to everyone who is interested in the dark side of London's history.

My favorite Tour in London

samdV3239GT, Jun 2019
Our guide (I believe his name was John) was a Scottish man with great knowledge, quick wit, and impressive story telling ability. He had our attention the entire time, treated us to fish and chips, and overall made it easy to imagine what was going on in London, in the White Chapel neighborhood, in the late 1800s. I highly recommend this tour.

Daniel E, Jul 2018
John, the guide, did a great job and was really knowledgeable on the subject. Plus he fed us fish and chips! My only issue was that he was late and seemed rushed through the tour and with 25 people trying to hop across London roads was difficult.

Great event for teens

Sarah R, Jul 2018
Very interesting tour! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience very entertaining.

First Class Tour!

David_G, Jul 2018
Clearly a step above other operators. John was a fantastic guide and the service from start to finish made the tour relaxing and enjoyable. We saw other tour groups in the area and none used headphones to help hear the guide - this would have been a difficult tour without the headphones given the noise of the busy streets. It allowed us to take in the information and the humor while also keeping an eye on the surroundings.

I can't say enough good things about...

Daniel M, Jun 2018
I can't say enough good things about John, the tour guide. We were on the Underground train when it broke down. Lucky for us, the train broke down at an underground station. We got off and ran outside looking for a taxi. Finally, after 10 minutes looking, we found a taxi. However, it was already after the 15 minute early check-in and we had 5 minutes before the tour started. We arrived at Trafalgar Square and ran up to the first tour bus we could find and asked for directions to the check-in area. As we were asking for directions, a gentleman, John, approached us with his tour, as they were trying to board the bus. He asked if there was anything he could do and I explained the situation. He asked if we minded waiting for a moment while he boarded his tour onto the bus and we obliged. While his tour was boarding, he approached us again and asked how he could help. He asked us what tour we were looking for and we told him, we were late for our Jack the Ripper Tour. He asked us our names and it just so happened, HE was our tour guide. He told us not to worry and that he would take care of everything and we could just board the bus for our tour. We were so elated!!! The tour started online. John was full of so much knowledge regarding all things, Jack the Ripper and White Chapel. He was funny and gave in depth accounts of the horrors that occurred during this period. An added bonus was that he took us to a local Fish and Chips place Poppie's for the best fish and chips we, or anyone in our tour, have had. Also, this was INCLUDED in the price of the tour no other tours offer this on their tours. It was a nice reprieve halfway through our tour. I have already told many friends and colleagues about this amazing tour and John's profound knowledge regarding Jack the Ripper. This was a gift to my niece, as she is a huge fan of gothic things, Jack the Ripper, ghosts, etc. and she is still talking about how amazing this tour was for her. Thank you John and Mo for such a great experience!!!

We were very disappointed in this...

Melanie B, Nov 2017
We were very disappointed in this trip after reading the reviews. We found our guide John to be brusque and the tour felt rushed. There were many times we couldnt hear him when he was talking and then he rushed off to the next spot leaving a trail of bemused tourists. One tourist actually left the tour halfway through, he was clearly that unimpressed! We were collected from our hotel, the Strand Palace to begin the tour. The tour began immediately with John pointing out the supposedly haunted Drury Lane theatre from a side view on the coach. We could barely see it. Everywhere we went we were given a blurted out explanation of where we were, but as mentioned previously without a microphone it was nigh on impossible to hear John if we werent stood right next to him. It was very frustrating. The fish and chip stop was unnecessary and didnt justify the time taken out of the tour in my opinion, although it was very tasty. If this is the reason for the tour being much more expensive than others on offer, I would suggest to lose the snack and get on with the tour. At one point John grunted Wheres my driver? when the coach wasnt parked up where he expected it to be. At the end of our tour we were expecting to be dropped off at The Strand Palace but instead we were dropped off a short walk away. We felt very much that we were being disposed of as quickly as possible. Based on our experience from which I have very little memory of the actual talks, I can not recommend this trip.

We couldn't wait to go on this tour...

Andrea T, Oct 2017
We couldn't wait to go on this tour but that got spoiled quickly as our tour guide was extremely rude. His name was John. My son was a little motion sick from the bus ride and the tour guide basically kicked us off the tour in the middle of England and told us he couldn't let my son back on the bus if he was motion sick because the passenger wouldn't like it. I luckily found an Uber to get us back to our hotel. DONT BOOK THIS TOUR.

PuiSze_T, Oct 2017
Our tour guide John was great. He is a very good storyteller and made the whole tour alive. However, I selected this tour rather of other Jack the Ripper tour at lower price is because the haunted theater at Drury Lane is included. On that night, we only got to hear the story from the tour guide instead of seeing the theater ourselves. Only the theater location was pointed out from our coach which was located at the back of the building we passed by. I expected more about this theater from the tour.

We would not recommend this tour...

Ronda_M, Oct 2017
We would not recommend this tour. Our guide talked a lot but said little of substance and really didn't provide perspective on the murders till the end of the tour on the way back to our drop off point. If we could we have left in the middle we would have done so. We spent more time talking about Fish and Chips and waiting for them than we did learning about Jack the Ripper.

The tour was informative and walking the streets of The Ripper was thrilling. Our guide gave us a little extra with a free fish and chips stop! TheNight time tour let your imagination wander to the past. Highly recommend!
