The biggest issue with this tour was the complete confusion around the meeting point. The location listed in the booking (right front of the cathedral near the orphanage) was incorrect. When we contacted the tour operator, they repeatedly insisted that this was the correct spot.
However, another group on the same tour (booked through GetYourGuide) experienced the exact same issue. It was only after they called the operator via WhatsApp that the correct meeting point (left rear of the cathedral) was finally confirmed.
Out of just three groups on the tour, two were affected by this, which clearly shows this was not an isolated mistake but a coordination issue on the operator’s end. It caused unnecessary stress and delays at the start of what should have been a smooth experience.
As for the tour itself, it was quite underwhelming. Much of the information was delivered through pre-recorded audio, with very little added context or engagement from the guide. It felt impersonal and lacked the depth you would expect from a guided experience of such an important site.
Overall, between the disorganization and the lackluster delivery, this tour did not meet expectations. I would not recommend booking this experience in its current form.

Dear Kevin,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly due to the confusion around the meeting point.
Regarding this issue, it seems very likely that you were assisted by our automated chatbot at the time. Unfortunately, on that specific day we encountered a temporary technical bug, which led to incorrect information being provided both via chat and, in some cases, phone responses. This has since been fully resolved, but we understand how frustrating and stressful this must have been at the start of your tour, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience it caused.
For this reason, we always recommend that customers request to speak with a live agent or contact us directly via email or WhatsApp, as this ensures the most accurate and up-to-date information at all times.
As for the tour itself, we would like to clarify that the experience is designed as a multilingual audio-guided tour enhanced with live expert support. This format is specifically created to allow visitors to enjoy the attraction in their preferred language (with over 20 languages available), thanks to content curated by our art historians, while still benefiting from additional insights and assistance from our live guides in English and Italian. We understand that this style may not suit everyone’s preferences; for guests seeking a more fully personalized and interactive experience, we also offer private tours, which provide a different level of engagement.
We’re sorry again that this experience did not align with your expectations, and we truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our services.
Kind regards,
ACCORD Team

Our guide spent nearly an hour talking at us. Then headed to the museum which was closed for the day. I knew that but why didn’t the guide. The timed entry on the tickets were different on each ticket which was very confusing. We finally got into the cathedral but the dome is not included. The fine print doesn’t say there are tickets but the whole group thought they were so that says something about how this was written. An extremely disappointing trip.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Dear Mary,
we thank you for the time you dedicate to us.
We're sorry that the experience wasn't entirely satisfying, even though I believe that some of it is due to minor issues. For example, the fact that the tickets had different times, with only minutes of difference, is entirely negligible, given that, participating in a guided tour, it is obvious that all participants enter at the same time, as indeed happened.
I believe it is a good thing that the guide talked to you for so long; in doing so, she certainly managed to contextualize what is later seen during the visit.
Our tours are designed and planned to provide an optimal experience, which can vary depending on the museum due to their very nature.
The fact that Brunelleschi's Dome was not included was clearly specified on the product description page and on the voucher you received.
I apologize again that the visit did not fully satisfy you, but I hope that the essential aspects, such as the information and narratives provided by our guide within the scope of your reservation, enriched you culturally and left you with fond memories of the wonders you visited!
Best regards,
ACCORD Team

Very good guide who really knew her information. Tour ran efficiently and was easy to find. However it was rather too long because it was delivered in two languages which doubled the time to 3 hrs.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Dear Sheila,
we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour, and we are especially pleased that our guide, a key element of the experience, met your expectations and was appreciated!
Occasionally, due to last-minute customer needs, the tour may be conducted in dual languages. When this happens, we always send an email notification in advance, and if it is not preferred, we always find a solution!
Nevertheless, we hope that the memories you take home with you are about the valuable information and wonders you experienced during the visit.
Best regards,
ACCORD Team

We’ve used Viator in years past in multiple countries and have been very satisfied. This tour however was horrible! We first booked a private Duomo tour which Viator then said the couldn’t schedule. We signed up for a group tour instead. The guide never introduced herself and didn’t seem to know any information about the Duomo. 4/5ths of the sanctuary was roped off for some reason, so we stood in the back of the Duomo while the guide showed the group of about 20 people pictures of what we would normally have seen if she would have been able to take us further into the space! 15 minutes into the tour people began rolling their eyes, walking away and leaving the tour. They should have canceled the tour when they realized you couldn’t see most of the building!

A bit disappointing that it was not skip the line to the cathedral - it turns out it is impossible to skip this line. Cathedral visit alone was a complete waste of money - you can just line up for free. But the remaining part of the tour was useful - you got an explanation of parts of the baptistry, and a whistlestop tour of the museum. The only bizarre bit was we didnt get into the crypt as part of this tour, we had to line up again just to see it later.
So not a complete waste of money, but next time I would just buy a 20euro combo ticket and line up, with an audio guide from the internet or a good guidebook.

Tour guide is really not needed nor useful. Ticket was not comprehensive and did not include climbing duomo. Guide was just okay.

Whenever you get a chance to take a tour that includes "Skip the Line", take it. It saves an hour or two waiting in the hot sun. While you can't technically skip the line for the cathedral, the tour company arranges someone to stand in line for you so your wait is only about 10 minutes. After the talk outside and the tour through the cathedral (great talk, amazing cathedral), the tour took us through the baptismal (no waiting) and then the museum of the Duomo next door (skipping the line). The museum is quite spectacular in itself. Summary: great tour, glad we took it.

Wonderful Duomo complex tour, guide was very informative.
David S, Oct 2017
This tour was disappointing for several reasons. We were told to be 15 minutes early to meet our guide, but she was a half hour late so we wandered through the crowds and worried until she finally showed up. Then the tour felt rushed because she was running late and had another tour to get to. Too, I was most interested in the dome itself and we weren't allowed close enough to see it. Had I known we would not be allowed to gaze into the dome I would not have purchased 4 tickets for the family. One positive was our guide. She was knowledgeable and apologetic about our experience.
Alan S, Aug 2017
Very good tour! The lines were long in August, but we did not have to wait. We got excellent information in the Duomo, Baptistry, and the Duomo museum. Although the guide's accent was a little difficult to understand, I recommend this tour.
Theresa Landers, Aug 2017
Excellent tour - a little too crowded but worked through the crowds - fascinating details about all aspects of the Complex.
David-Seth K, Jul 2017
This was a good tour - BUT - we paid for skip the line - and the Duomo no longer has skip the lines - so we waited 35 minutes for the tour to start only to wait 35 more minutes for the lines. It moved but that part was a waste of and time. the guiding was good.
David M, Jun 2017
It was a great guided tour overall and worth it to skip the really long line to enter the Duomo.
The museum was closed at the time that we were supposed to enter so, our tour guide discussed the exterior.
Some time later, 30 minutes? the museum did open and we were able to finish the tour inside, however, our time inside was cut short.
We did have to wait in a long line to see the bell tower, and that was expected.
The entire complex is fabulous and worth spending much time there.
nick, Jun 2017
Misleading...The whole group was under the impression that we get to clime the dome..WRONG. The tickets to clime the dome is included BUT we had to make our own reservation to clime the dome, which we were never told and they were booked the day of our tour.
David R, Jun 2017
Not sure I would recommend this tour for the money. We couldn't get tickets to climb the duomo sold out- even though we paid for them on the only day we were there to see the complex. The tour company did get us tickets for the next day, but we were already going to be gone. Very dissapointing. Also, this is not a skip the line for either the group tour entrance or for climbing the bell tower. We waited in line for both.
Carole O, May 2017
This place is amazing! Our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. She also made sure that all the people in her group were able to stay together. The only problem we had was that on the day we went it was raining and the organization of gathering the tour groups together was very chaotic because everyone was huddling under umbrellas and under overhangs instead of the open square. I would recommend this tour.
Amit_M, Mar 2017
Great tour of Duomo including the Baptistery and the museum. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The tour could be longer to allow for more in-depth exploration.
Sujit N, Jan 2017
Very nice tour. The guide was well informed and knew the history and the tour organizer was available for any help!!
Susan_B, Dec 2016
Great to have a guide to point out the noteworthy site and give an overview of the history.
Chandan S, Oct 2016
Excellent tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain and answer questions.
Mark B, Oct 2016
Outstanding! Highly informed guide. We would have missed so much about the Complex without the guide.
Damian L, Sep 2016
Well run tour. Florence is an extremely busy city so a large allowance must be made for this and the difficulties. Our guide was very knowledgable and passionate about the Duomo anf Florence in general. Good value for money
nanette_t, Sep 2016
the description said climb to the top of dome was included. It's not a skip the line deal - It's free but it's a separate and 1.5 hr long line to do. This was a bit deceptive. Tour otherwise was awesome.
Alice_M, Sep 2016
Well-done, well organized, informative guide. Beautiful beautiful introduction to Florence. And skipping the monstrous line was a great bonus.
Whitney M, Aug 2016
Excellent tour! Guide was very informative and enjoyed her job. Would recommend the tour for anyone who doesn't want to look up all the information themselves.
ElizabethA_Y, Aug 2016
This was a very good tour and allowed us to focus on the important aspects of the Duomo without wasting time. Terrific guide!!!!
Kelly C, Jul 2016
Our guide was nice and I don't know if it was bad equipment or her very thick accent, but we could not understand most of what she said. By the end of the tour our group of over 20 was down to four because everyone left. It was a waste of money!
Anne T, Jun 2016
Guide was very informative and welcoming. And recommended best time to climb the Duomowhich we did later in daythe tour and climb were the highlights of our visit to Florence! I would highly recommend this tour
Christine S, Jun 2016
Guide was very sweet but she was difficult to understand at times - partly due to the quality of the radios and headsets this company uses. Other tour companies we've used in Florence had higher quality units.
Valerie S, Jun 2016
Locating our guide, or more accurately the assistant assigned to meet us before the guide arrives and tour begins, did not go very smoothly. Once the tour started we were very pleased with our guide and were awestruck by the art/architecture/history.
