Your day trip starts with hotel pickup by your driver in Florence for the journey to your first destination, Pisa.

Visit Piazza dei Miracoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site made up of the Cathedral, the Baptistry, the Monumental Cemetery, and the Campanile, aka the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Have some time on your own to admire the architecture and check out the shops.

Then return to your private tour vehicle to continue to Lucca, a 16th-century town known for its still-standing city walls. Head to Piazza Anfiteatro, where you can see the remnants of the amphitheater that once stood here, and explore Via Fillungo, a street lined with eateries and shops. Take a walk along the city ramparts, and visit Guinigi Tower, where you can climb up to the rooftop garden for a panoramic view, if you wish.

Your tour ends with return to Florence for hotel drop-off. Please note, entrance fees, food, and drinks are at your own expense.

Climb the tower

You should go. Even with the summer crowds, the tour seemed relaxed and unrated. The climb up the tower is a must do for the views and history. The driver was awesome and well informed.

Diego was a delight from start to finish. The car was beautiful, and we always knew we were in professional hands. When we decided to leave early, he arrived in eight minutes and drove us home. He also recommended a wonderful place for lunch in Lucca.

Misleading title. NOT a private tour.

The title of this is misleading. It reads like this is a private tour of Pisa and Lucca, as in we will be given a TOUR of Pisa and Lucca. In reality this is a private driver and you are then on your own in Pisa and Lucca. Our driver was wonderful, but I would NEVER have paid this price for just a driver. It was incredibly disappointing to get to Pisa only to find out we were on our own. We ended up having a great time, but I won't be booking a tour like this with Viator again. If you want to be on your own, save your money and book a group tour and then just do your own thing.

Our guide, Christian, was helpful, knowledgeable and flexible. He asked what was important for us to see and then set a great agenda with just enough time in Pisa and more time in Lucca which was fantastic! See the tower, but spend more time and eat in Lucca!

This was the best part of our entire trip to Italy. The time in Pisa was just right to see what we wanted to see and then depart. Lucca was the star. I would definitely go back there and stay longer. We had a wonderful time there. Our driver, Alejandro, was excellent. Our kids loved the experience.

We got a driver, not a tour

Our driver was on time and picked us up from our rental which was great. However, to call this a tour is misleading. There was no conversation on the drive to Pisa, no descriptions about what we could expect, and no discussion on how long we might want to stay. He opened the car door, told us when he'd be back, and then left. Same for Lucca. It would have been nice to have learned a bit about our destinations during the drives and been able to customize the amount of time spent at each location. We had too long in Pisa, and would have loved that extra time in Lucca. Again, we paid for a private driver and car, not a tour.

Booked the private tour for our family of 5, Valentina from the agency helped us customize our tour by adding tickets to climb the tower in Pisa and stop at a winery for lunch. We decide to tour both Pisa and Lucca on our own, without a guide, but our driver Christian was so knowledgeable about the area and history, it felt as though we had a private guide with us the whole trip. He was great!! The winery was also a great reccomendation. All of the wines were wonderful and lunch in the wine cellar was a great experience. They also showed us how they make Vinsanto, which was a first for us. Thank you Christian and Ciaflorence for an unforgettable day!!
