Please keep in mind the Duomo, Baptistry doesn’t allow any backpacks inside either facility. I wish the tour operator would’ve told us beforehand. But you do get to store it at a place right next door to the Duomo but if you’re not comfortable then leave any backpack even a small one, anything with two straps, don’t bring it. Besides that Laura was a knowledgeable tour guide giving us all the info and making sure we had enough breaks climbing up, because it’s very step and high. Only thing I wish though was the actual time in the dome above to be more than 5 minutes. This isn’t the tour company’s fault, but the dome operators themselves limit the time spent up top. By the time you climb up and catch your breath, we were already getting asked to come down. The ticket they sell with this guided tour is actually the Brunelleschi Pass, which gives you access later to the cathedral, crypt, Giotto Bell Tower and the Baptistry. Which was nice because the Brunelleschi pass sells out weeks in advance. The tour also included some apertivos (appetizers) and a glass of wine after the climb down and that was a very positive surprise.

Well worth the challenging climb!

Totally rubbish organisation. See from the photo the guidance when and where to meet. This was totally wrong and after a stressful 40 mins and expensive telephone calls back to the U.K. eventually found your guide. Then explained that yes the website needs updating because info is wrong…. I have a suggestion…. Update the website so clients don’t pitch up late and stressed out. The tour itself is ok but with too many in the group unless you make effort to be close to the guide you miss the information.
