Itinerary
Your half-day wine-tasting excursion begins with pickup from central Budapest. Then, head with your group (or just your guide, if private option selected) on a roughly half-hour drive to the Etyek-Buda wine region.
Learn about the region’s notable white and sparkling wines, its local terroir, as well as its rich history along the way.
The morning tour option includes two winery visits, while the longer afternoon tour incorporates three. Try up to four wines from each family-run winery you visit, along with Hungarian snacks.
Your final stop includes a traditional, 2-course meal at a wine estate. You are welcome to enjoy additional wines at your own expense while you sample authentic Hungarian dishes.
After half a day of exploring, return to your original Budapest departure point.

From an incredible guide to an amazing tour—this was such a memorable experience! I learned so much about Hungarian wine and its history, all while laughing with the funniest guide. I especially loved visiting two very different vineyards: one started as a hobby and grew into a small local business, while the other was a more established family winery. Tasting their unique creations alongside truly high-quality wines made it extra special. Plus, snacks and a full meal were included! I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore a bit outside Budapest and, of course, to anyone with a love for wine.

Wonderful tour! Juliana was a spectacular guide. We visited 3 different family-owned wineries, enjoyed sampling the different wines of the region and had a delicious dinner at our last stop. Would highly recommend if you like wine and want a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of Budapest.
A very enjoyable time with an informative guide. Loved the 2 wineries and the tasting along with lunch!
Miki drove us out into the countryside in a comfortable van to tour these very unusual and interesting underground, family-owned small wine cellars and do multiple tastings. The scenery was beautiful and we learned a lot about the various Hungarian wine-making regions, tasted some great wine and local snacks, and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.
Brilliant tour. Great guide imparting interesting information. Lovely food and of course good wine.

Had a wonderful wine tasting afternoon, visited some beautiful countryside, tasted great wines had some delicious homecooked food and met a lovely group of people. Our guide was so lovely very knowledgeable spoke excellent English 5☆
A very intimate and personal wine tasting experience with true Hungarian authenticity. Our guide, Peter, was gracious, intelligent, and accommodating. He made the experience come alive.
Overall great trip and Peter was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would say the wines were ok but the experience was amazing knowing the real old school way!
Susan was our guide and she was excellent. She gave us a detailed wine history of the area. She took us to 3 wineries where we sampled multiple local wines at each. The first winery was the best because it was in an actual cellar dating back to the late 1700’s. The other two wineries were neat also because they had stunning views of the countryside.
Disappointed not picked up from hotel & drop back to hotel. Was not contacted about minor delay in pickup time due to van probelm. Peter the tour leader was good to explain the wines.
It's a good tour and the tour guide and driver were very nice. The only issue encountered was that we were the last hotel pickup and as a result, sat all the way in the last row of the van, which was both uncomfortable and bumpy. We spoke with the guide and she managed to get someone to swap seats and found us more comfortable seats at the front of the van. The overall experience of the tour was good. If we book this kind of tour again, we'd consider a private tour or a tour that offers seat selection in advance.
Great Guide, Very knowledgeable and helpfull
I rated this a 4 because the Wine Tour was all White wines. The distription should have mentioned this for all of us red wine drinkers

Tour guide is a star of the show. She is pleasant, attentive, experienced- constantly checking on each of us with stories to tell and stories to listen to. All three venues gave us the best experience: atmosphere, authenticity, warmth and hospitality were everything we were looking for. Group was small - 12 people. We made friends along the way. Highly recommend for anyone who looks for unique and heartwarming experience!

Small group experience with Peter our guide. Brought us to the country side in Buda to visit three wineries. The first was extremely charming and we sat underground in the wine cellar and samples 4 very good wines with generous tasting, Next we went to an actual winery outide to sample some of the best wines I tasted of the day. Finished at a private home with more wine and prepared dinner . Returned back to our hotel. Total trip was about 5 1/2 hours and thoroghly enjoyable and Peter was an excellent and knowlegable guide

Lovely day spent tasting Hungarian wines! All of the wines we tasted were white varieties, which was perfect for me, but definitely something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a mix of reds and whites. The wines were all delicious, the homemade lunch was fantastic, and the views were absolutely spectacular. Susan was so kind and knowledgeable, and she gave us a great overview of the sights along the drive as well as some history and insight into Hungary. Such a wonderful experience and definitely something I would recommend!

Just be well aware that you are going to visit very small family owned wineries. Don’t expect larger estate wineries or you will be disappointed. The people were knowledgeable and very nice. It was a very enjoyable trip.

Ride a comfy mini bus to wineries in a picturesque area outside of Budapest. We had beautiful views, good wine, and Peter was an excellent guide.

We went on the afternoon tour that started at 3pm. The journey was about 30 mins from Budapest city and we visited 3 wineries (12 drinks in total). We went in the heatwave and the minibus was extremely hot, we'd recommend taking water and a fan for the journey if its a hot day. It was a very friendly group and the tour guide was very knowledgeable.
The food was fine, they provided venison, pasta and vegetables. It wasn't fully to my taste but it was an enjoyable meal with everyone.
Overall, it was a really good experience and would recommend.

This is the best wine tasting tour I've been on yet! Going out into the countryside was beautiful; tons of sunflower fields and vineyards! Our driver picked us up at our hotel and, while driving around the city to pick up other guests, told us about the various buildings/sites of interest. While driving through the countryside, she gave us background history of the area and was just awesome! The wineries we visited were great and hostesses very professional but warm and friendly as well. We had some really great wines in all three locations, but the meal we had at the last winery was fantastic! And loved visiting with their house cats as well. It was an awesome trip and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We enjoyed this experience immensely! Our tour guide Peter did a great job explaining much about Budapest’s history during our drive to the two wineries as well as providing insight about Hungary’s winemaking history. We visited two very different wineries, enjoying the wines at both. And the second winery included a very tasty homemade lunch. Plus we met some very fun people. Highly recommend this excursion.
