Our Secret Food tour of Budapest was amazing! Our guide, Zoltan, had great stories as well as being very funny. The food was delicious with my favorite being the Langos. To top it off Zoltan took us to a secret Speakeasy. We had samples of different types of salami and paprika, as well as experiencing a shot of Palinka! I would definitely recommend this food tour as soon as you arrive in Budapest! Zoltan the Hun was the best!

We absolutely loved this tour, and our guide, Zoltan! Zoltan's inside knowledge and local perspective ensured we experienced Budapest's food scene as locals. We tried dishes we would have been reluctant to try on our own, and visited some off-the-beaten path places that we would have never found on our own. We highly recommend this tour, and Zoltan, to other visitors to Budapest!

This is the best was to start a trip in a foreign country. Get a nice experience of the culinary scene by a local, some history as you walk around and get to meet some friendly people from all over the world along the way. Out guide Kitti was very friendly and followed up the tour with all the things we did, recipes and a picture. Great job!

This was by far one of my favorite food tours I’ve taken! This was LARGELY in part because of our tour guide Zoltan. He was one of a kind, funny, knowledgeable, and took us to delicious spots. Everything was clear & laid out. We had so much good traditional food I wasn’t sure I could eat anymore. And left with lots of laughs & memories. Zoltan is great. Please tip your guides. He definitely deserves it! Highly recommend this tour.

I've been on a few food tours, and this one ranks on the lower end of the scale. There's the food tour where you're really learning a lot about the role the food plays in the culture while seeing sites, and there's the food tour where you're going to food stops that are in a small tourist area and the guide acts as a host to order for you, handle payment, and make sure you get fed. This tour was more of the latter. Lower on the information scale and the spots did not feel special. I have a friend traveling to Budapest in August and will not recommend this tour. I do not think it was worth the money. Our guide was pleasant and nice to talk to but don't think they were passionate about food.

The Budapest Centre Food Tour was a fantastic experience and a great way to discover both Hungarian cuisine and the city's history. Our guide Zoltan was incredibly engaging, mixing fascinating historical insights with humorous stories and local knowledge that kept the tour entertaining from start to finish. Tour guide was excellent.
We had 9 people in our group plus 2 others from another group and she managed everything very well. Making sure the pace of speed was comfortable for everyone for example…
The one thing I suggest explaining with a little more detail is the order of sweet and salty foods… being from another culture, knowing that, would have helped us get there better prepared.

Kitty was a great guide, sharing four food stops with us while commenting on interesting buildings and public monuments. The food is very filling and the portions are generous so come hungry! Overall a helpful introduction the Budapest and Hungarian food and wine.

Kitti was our tour guide and she was great! She took us to four different locations and gave us explanations about the food and culture. She also stops at a few sites in between walking to the next food stop to share some of the history, which I enjoyed. I also appreciated that after the tour she emailed several great recommendations on sites to see in a Budapest and restaurant recommendations. Come to this food tour hungry because you will be full by the end!

Had a wonderful time on this food tour. We stopped at four locations and got to try a handful of different foods. The pacing felt right (not too fast or slow), and the tour also walked past several architectural landmarks as well. Zoltan, our tour guide, was extremely friendly (and also very funny). He was kind enough to provide many recommendations outside the tour itself — above and beyond expectations.

On our first night in Budapest, we went out for a dinner at a restaurant with high Google rating. The food was good, but not great.
On day two, we took this tour and oh what an amazing difference it made. We tasted real Hungarian food and drink from authentic Hungarian restaurants. It was a night and day difference. Our guide also shared much of the history of Hungary, which put everything in perspective.
Great tour. Highly recommend.

This best experience trying local delicacies and hearing about the great history of this country. Zoltan was fantastic, he brought humour, energy, knowledge and stories and was very personable. I have done many of these type of food tours and I would say this is the best I’ve done around the world - thanks to him! I would recommend this trip to anyone. Some fantastic stops and a range of food, places we never would have found on our own. A must book !

Warning, do NOT eat before this food tour. We (wisely) did not eat breakfast; we went to this food tour; and did not eat again until late evening. AND we didn't even successfully finish all the food everywhere. Zoltan was a fantastic guide - charaismatic, educational, and fun. He was very generous, helped explain the history and culture surrounding the food, and was patient with us even as he put up with the many "intereesting" pronounciations of Hungarian food out of all our mouths, haha. Definitely worth making time for this one.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and lots of fun! We really liked the fact that he was a true local and had personally experienced the changes in Hungary’s political climates so he had a unique insight. All the food offerings were great! We’ve done food tours in most of our travels and this was one of the best.

Traditional food eaten at places off the beaten path. Food was very good. Perhaps stayed too long at each place. One additional spot would have been good for the amount of time spent.

We booked this tour for one of our first days in Budapest. Not only did it give us a wonderful introduction to Hungarian food, but our guide was very knowledgeable about Budapest and its history. We had four stops on the tour, each with a different theme. We had strudel, coffee/tea (and other desserts) at one stop, delicious langos (kind of like a personal size pizza) at another and goulash at yet another. The final stop was the best, however. We ended at a private venue where the owner provided a sampling of meats, cheeses, veggies, breads and drinks in a homey atmosphere. She also had a very small selection of items for purchase, including a higher quality paprika than is available at gift shops. The small group made it easy to hear and follow the guide and we shared delicious food with very pleasant travelers. I highly recommend this tour and guide.

This was our first adventure in Budapest, and it couldn't have been a better way to experience its culture. As two couples, we have traveled together over the years, and this was definitely one of the very best tours ever. Our guide, George, was so informative and interesting. It's been said that the best way to know a people is to know their food, and this is exactly what this tour delivered. Through the exploration of food, we strolled through neighborhoods and ate traditional foods in 4 locations as we learned about the history, culture, politics, passions, and lifestyles of the people of Hungary, in particular Budapest. After the tour, George sent us photos, recipes, and interesting information that enhanced the rest of our trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone of any age as it is tailored to your interests and prior knowledge of the area, and George is phenomenal!
