We the night cruise was absolutely stunning. We had a great view, windows were large and clean. My only complaint is they played random pop music (quietly) which seemed an odd choice. Really great value though and I’d highly recommend.

Excellent service
It was my dream to see night Dunabe.
I get a great experience
I recommend to use a TripAdvisor.
I get the best price.
Perfect Guide! Very knowledgeable. Amazing views! Best to take the night spot. After sunset is the best
The night cruise is magnificent with a top commentator giving excellent audio guide throughout the whole cruise. In addition, every landmarks that the cruise passed by has both brief history and photos displayed on the tv panels. Excellent experience that not to be missed.
Great experience and saw some beautiful sights and buildings - tour guide was very informative and friendly. Worth the money, great snacks on board.
Bring headphones so you can listen to commentary. It is well done. Most people did not have them and the boat was a bit noisy. You'll see most all the main highlights of the city.
Seats are a bit uncomfortable. Bring a cushion if you plan on sitting.
Overall, a worthwhile endeavor.
Our guide Eric was amazing and very knowledgeable.
Access to the boat (possibly due to low river levels) could be challenging for some.
The boat itself was basic but adequate.
Overall it was well worth it and excellent value for money.
It was a beautiful boat ride with the best tour guide. Eric knew what he was talking about and shared ALL the history. It was fantastic! He really made the experience worth it, I would recommend it to anyone!
Really good expirience! We had a nice and chill trip with this boat. I really recomended. The treatment and the staf was nice.
Didn’t do enough research. Felt like a barge with plastic chairs. 1 bathroom we didn’t use. A cheesy concession stand. Very crowded. Views were nice.
For a very reasonable price, you get a nighttime view of the most beautiful attractions of Budapest along the Danube, complete with a bar for drinks and music to go along with it.
Was especially great because we were in Budapest the night before Aug 20 a major holiday and the entire river is covered in extra laser lighting. Seats are 12 across, 4 on each side and 4 in the middle. People will rush for window seats, but you can easily move around to get good pictures from every angle.
Very nice to get to enjoy the night view of Danube River on a cruise. The trip itself was great, nothing fancy, just right. However too many people smoking on the boat make it hard to breath for us.
It starts with the parliament, so yes the 30 seconds of going past the building is all you get. Price for the value i guess. Sit on the side facing the parliment, there is about 5 seats whereas there is 50 on the other side. The blocked side gets the view.
Not as advertised. No a/c as listed and makes it seem as if the boat is a lot nicer than it is. Also has hanging lights which makes it harder to enjoy the evening sights. And one side of the boat is completely obstructed
It was crowd, and cannot see well with half of the seats. If you squeeze to the front, you may be able to catch some good photos
It worth to try other boats that offer drinks or food, which may have a better quality
A very crowded cruise. We paid for 5 tickets but only managed to get 4 seats. Was expecting to see the parliament building lit up at night but it didn't happen.
Really pretty at night! Get there at least 30 mins early if you want a better view (the line gets long during summer or peak travel).
There was no air conditioning on the boat, even though that is the first thing promised in the tour.
Great value for money, audio points out and expands on the history and places of interest. Beautiful experience.
We were greeted with a smile by Ildy when we get there earlier. She is very accomodating and fun to speak with. Great customer skills.
It is Ok, very basic, The boat has a small bar and bathrooms, We took the 8:30 pm boat and was great. Recommended in summer time pick the right size to have a better view of the parliament light out on the top.
Very smooth, stable ride on the boat. Eric was our excellent guide who spoke as a native English speaker; other languages were available via location-based app. The history was fascinating and the views were incredible.
Delightful and informative way to spend an hour. We took the 8:30pm cruise, leaving as the sun was setting. Photo op of the Parliament building starts with the sunset and ends with the lights of the building.
For one hour, Eric told of us the history of Hungary and the history behind every building that we saw. His input added to the enjoyment of the evening. Try to be on one of his cruises.
My wife and daughter liked this, but I have to say that I was not particularly impressed. Here's what was good and what was lacking.
The good:
1. We went at twilight, right as the sun was going down, which made for good pictures - and everything lights up after dark, which was beautiful.
2. There is a downloadable guide that goes along with the tour and there is a screen up above on the boat that tells you what things are and a fun fact or two about them (remember Pop-Up Video? kinda like that).
The not-so-good:
1. This tour is run by Purpleliner, not Viator - if I did it again, I would just book tickets with Purpleliner (why do I keep booking tickets with Viator?!)
2. The boat is enclosed - big windows all around, but a full ceiling. I had envisioned an open-air cruise, and this was definitely not that - you could only see out the windows near you, and it was hot and stuffy inside. You could go outside and stand on the back deck with all the smokers, but that was pretty crowded and like I said, standing only - plus: no Pop-Up Video up there.
3. The directions were correct (the written directions) but the indicator on the map was in the wrong place. If they just said: "follow the signage for Purpleliner because that's what this is" that would have made it easier for everyone.
So bottom line: I would recommend a cruise on the Danube at that time of day, and maybe even with Purpleliner - but I would look for an open-air boat and book directly... not through Viator.
Everything went smoothly. Departure was on time. The views of the buildings and bridges were absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour.
Fun tour and very cosy. The host Erik, looks like a viking with a cool beard, was very informative and accomodating. Highly recommended.😊
Very smooth and enjoyable experience. Eric knew his stuff and the history was very interesting. Would recommend
Sunset tour at 7pm was ideal as there were not so many passengers. Audio guide was a screen and I felt could have been improved.
Amazing , beautiful lights to see , a night to remember, beautiful view
Safe and smooth

100 percent recommended
Purple line offers a very solid river cruise. It’s run efficiently, and you get to see all the major spots between the main bridges. My only quarrel is that it’s kind of loud. They encourage you to download an audio guide with lots of historical detail, but there is also a live tour guide giving info, too. The live guide has less detail but more personality and humor. It’s not possible to listen to both, and unless you go out on the back deck, you will hear the live guide over the public address system. One audio guide or the other is enough. I suppose that’s a quibble. It’s a lovely tour.
