Beautiful basilica. We did not have a guide or audio tour, just tickets to see the main hall. There was no line when we got there at 9:00am. The only issue is that the signage is lacking outside of the basilica, which caused some confusion about redeeming our online ticket. There were signs but I think clear instructions about getting paper tickets were lost in translation. The initial instructions that we received online did say to redeem the tickets across the street, but it did not state what storefront to do so and the correct store front stayed closed till exactly 9:00, which is the time we thought we had to be in the basilica because that is the time listed on the ticket(turns out it didn't really matter), so it was a bit confusing. The signs just need to be more clear about redeeming on line tickets instead of having a random arrow pointing to multiple places across the street.
Beautiful church. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we learned quite a bit. The views from the dome were incredible.
We enjoyed our visit to St Stephen’s Basilica, we were fortunate that our guide (Viviane) was very knowledgeable about the history of the church which made our visit even better. The view from the dome is definitely worth doing and you don’t need to worry about using the steps as there are elevators right to the top.

Guide was kind, respectful and informative. More information prior to tour would have been helpful such as where exactly to meet guide. Still, it was an amazing tour with plenty of time given at the end to stay and enjoy.

Veronica was a great guide for the Basilica. The basilica is beautiful and there is much to learn about St. Stephen. Would definitely include the treasury and terrace. Beautiful views from up top.

This is an hour tour plus access to bell tower. Our your tour guide was young and very informative regards to the basilica. She did not have an English spelling to her name :(. This church is very beautiful and has a lot of history regards to Hungary and its formative years which makes this church unusual. If you access the stairs to bell tower be warned there are a lot. There is a lift if needed.

Amazing building with so much cool things inside, services do run in the building and definitely worth trying to time visit during a service time
Definitely helped prevent standing in line for tickets. Guide met us at designated place and time and took us in without waiting. Lot of history crammed into 50m tour. Much of the church furnishings are tied into the history of Hungary so she had to talk fast to explain the significance of various altars and figures in the church

Very informative tour with a very competent guide. She was knowledgeable and easy to connect with outside the basilica.

The guide did a wonderful job explaining the history of the church as well as Hungarian history. The meeting was in front of the ticket office where she handled all of the tickets.
Great experience! Tour was amazing and very informative. I think we could have stayed in there forever, but we had a later tour and they were closing!
It's worth getting the guided tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Basilica and the history surrounding it and the historical figures tied to it. Going up to the top dome and walking around gives spectacular views of the city.

When I showed up to exchange my voucher for a ticket, the tour wasn't available. However, the woman was rude and dismissive and didn't offer to reschedule or explain why. Twenty minutes after the supposed start, received an email asking if I wanted to reschedule? Could have asked when I was there. I booked at that time as it fit in my schedule and traveled half way across the world. I am sure they will give a pathetic excuse. Very poor vendor.
Vivian was an outstanding guide at St. Stephen’s Basilica. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, architecture, and significance of the basilica, but what made the tour special was how she brought everything to life with interesting stories and context rather than just reciting facts.
She was friendly, engaging, and happy to answer questions, making everyone feel welcome. You could tell she genuinely loves sharing the history and culture of Budapest, and her enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re visiting St. Stephen’s Basilica, I highly recommend taking a tour with Vivian. It gave us a much deeper appreciation for this beautiful landmark and was one of the highlights of our time in Budapest.
Would absolutely recommend a visit to the Bassilica. We were lucky enough to hear some beautiful organ music during our visit.
It was ok, I didn’t need’ skip the line’ tickets as it wasn’t busy. The view from the dome was great. Staff weren’t very friendly

The guide’s tour lasted about 40 minutes. There was intermittent loud organ music when we were there. We loved the organic music, but it was difficult to hear our guide. I think you should add earphones for guests & a headset that broadcasts his/her voice for the guide.
A good tour with a patient and knowledgeable guide Vivienne. The cathedral was nice with interesting local legend stories. The meeting up arrangement was not as in the written instruction and was confusing.
Wonderful tour!! Veronica was amazing- friendly and informative. Being in a small group was nice- Veronica was able to answer any questions and keep the tour pace relaxed.
