Nice experience with our travel guide, Simon. Meeting place was a tiny bit confusing but a quick text cleared it up - great communication. Small group so it was lovely chatting with others. Went to 3 markets and enjoyed food at all. Wish there was more time to spend at the first one as it was just a quick snack and drink. Overall a wonderful experience that I would recommend.

My mother and I had a truly magical time on the Berlin Christmas Markets and Culinary Tour with Benjamin. He was warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about both Berlin and its holiday traditions. He guided us through beautifully lit markets, shared the history behind the festivities, and created such a welcoming atmosphere that it felt like the perfect winter evening.
One of the best parts of the tour was the incredible variety of foods and drinks we were able to try. With Benjamin leading the way, we enjoyed raclette, Kaiserschmarrn, glühwein, Danish gløgg, bratwurst, and flammkuchen. Each stop offered something unique and delicious, and Benjamin explained the origins and traditions behind them, which made every tasting even more memorable.
The pacing was relaxed, the markets were magical, and Benjamin’s thoughtful commentary added depth to every stop. This tour became one of our favorite experiences in Berlin and we highly recommend it, especially with Benjamin as your guide.

My tour was more of an overall history tour that did not focus on the specific markets or types of food found in those specific markets. This is fine as long as that’s known upfront as I expected to learn more about the foods available a the markets themselves.

First food stop not bad, downhill from there on - v small “taster” portion of cake, lots of standing around, nearly two hour period walking to library (?) & on tram (fare not included) with no food. Then dumplings & sausage roll & that was it! V little explanation of local market history

Regarding the transport ticket, it is clearly stated in the tour description that it is not included and must either be pre-purchased or bought during the tour.
Concerning the additional time at the library, this stop is typically brief—about 20–30 minutes—and is primarily meant to accommodate guests needing a restroom break. While this service can occasionally extend the schedule slightly, the claim of a 2-hour delay appears to be an exaggeration.
As for the background information provided during the tour, this is a central element of our experience. Our guide on the day is an expert in history and local culture and aims to share engaging stories about the dishes and their significance to Berlin’s Christmas markets. We’re sorry if you felt this was not communicated effectively or if these moments were missed.

Do not do this tour
Save your money
Started at a Xmas market near Berlin Opera building
1 x tasting and 1 x drink
Some free time to look around
Then we had to go to tram buy our own tickets and travel 30 minutes to what seemed an out of the way Xmas market
2 x more tastings and some drinks.
Tour guide informed us this is where the tour finished and we had our own way home.
We then had to find the tram buy more tickets and return to where we started by ourselves.
First time in Berlin in the dark and not sure where we are going.
Not impressed at all and we weren’t the only people that felt this way and left in the dark so to speak.
I fail to understand how we were not guided back to our starting point.
Unfortunately I have booked other tours with Viator.
Will see how the other tours go
However not sure if I will book any more tours with Viator.

After reviewing the details with our guide, it seems there may have been some misunderstanding. Our itinerary includes three tastings and one drink at the first Christmas market and two tastings and a drink at the second market, as outlined in the tour description. Additionally, it is noted that transport tickets are not included in the tour price.
As you mentioned, the tour does finish at a different location from the starting point, and this is clearly stated in both the tour description and the confirmation email. We encourage a bit of preparation to help with navigation after the tour, but we also understand this isn't always possible. For this reason, our guides dedicate time at the start of each tour to provide helpful directions, as was done on this occasion.
Regarding the early darkness, this is indeed a seasonal challenge as winter sunsets in Berlin occur around 3:30 PM. We do our best to create an enjoyable experience despite the shorter daylight hours.

Excellent walking tour, very friendly and knowledgeable guide, visited 3 Christmas markets including one Scandavian market, crowded but it was Saturday, nice selection of foods and mulled wine, not much chance to sit down, required one subway ride, did not end at the start point but would have needed Uber to our hotel regardless, highly recommend.

We came to Berlin for the Christmas holiday and had no idea where to start with visiting Christmas market. Our Your was wonderful. We rated many delicious things that we never would have tried on our own. Our tour guide was brilliant. Made the whole experience very fun and festive!
