Pickup Information If you are arriving in Akureyri by cruise ship, please ensure you have provided us with the name of your vessel, as there are multiple ports in Akureyri. Tangabryggja Port: Just outside the cruise ship area, you will see several small wooden houses. Star Travel is located at house number 3, and we will meet you there. Oddeyrarbryggja Port: Right outside the ship, you will find an Icewear shop. Next to it is the designated agent area where all tour agents wait for their customers. We will be there with a Star Travel sign. Look for one of our colleagues wearing a bright yellow jacket. If you are staying in Akureyri, please ensure you have selected the correct accommodation for pickup. Lastly, please make sure the phone number you provided is reachable in case we need to contact you with any updates or changes.

The tour is great. The waterfall and the gardens are beautiful. I would recommend the tour if there was another operator. Our problem was the tour operator. They left us stranded at the gardens and did not answer their phone. Viatour was very helpful and processed a refund and gave us information about returning to our ship.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced, but we would like to clarify that our tours operate on a set schedule to ensure all guests can enjoy their time and return safely and punctually. Unfortunately, when guests are not back at the designated meeting point on time, the tour must continue as scheduled. Our team did attempt to reach out, but as we must also respect the schedules of other guests, we could not delay the entire group.

Bathroom lines at the falls are really long, and you must pay. By the time we went to the falls and walked up to the bathrooms there wasn’t enough time to wait in line, so I couldn’t go. Suggest adding about 15 minutes to the time.

Wonderful tour. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable. The meeting place was easy to find and the tour was the perfect amount of time. The waterfall was amazing and the botanical gardens were beautiful. We were fortunate to have spectacular weather which definitely made a difference for this particular tour.

Driver does not stay with vehicle

Listen carefully to pick up instructions. Driver lost people twice! First time, van moved 1/4 mile away and driver left, making it difficult to find correct pickup spot. Second stop, driver locked vehicle and went to chit-chat with other drivers, leaving passengers waiting in the cold. The falls were amazing. The botanical garden was a free city park.

This was a great little excursion. Our guide was funny, flexible, and very informative. The falls were worth seeing. After the tour our guide gave us the option to walk through town back to the ship, and we happily did!
