The activities during the tour were great, but the preparation for guest pickup was poor and unorganized. Some guides didn’t check their guest lists and ended up picking up the wrong passengers, leaving the correct ones waiting for the next available van. We were among the passengers scheduled for the 1:00 p.m. pickup with a guide who didn’t have our names on his list. Luckily, that guide was very enthusiastic and entertaining, which helped improve the experience for the rest of the tour.

The ferry was very good and worth the price!! Especially because of the under 18 discount. There is a luggage room here to store your luggage so don’t book a locker with bounce like I did!! But the bounce lockers are convenient if you neeed something like that.

Lovely day!

The tour was great! We got to see a lot of San Francisco highlights in a short time, and then enjoyed spectacular scenery throughout the day. Our tour guide, Sully, was friendly and insightful. Highly recommend, especially if you don’t have much time in the city.

Absolutely breathtaking an absolute must …

I can honestly say this trip was worth all the money and all the hours. Our guide Per was amazing first of all from start to finish and a fountain of knowledge what a great guy… Yosemite took our breath away and thanks to Per we learned so much more the views the senary just kept on giving … plenty of time for lunch and to walk around we went to Yosemite Falls and Base Camp who has lunch at Yosemite Falls, I did and how beautiful it was.. Our final Journey to see the Sequoias the journey down and back up is not easy but we did it. Up there with one of the pinnacle moments thank you Per for an awesome amazing day

Nice Tour Package

This was a great tour. I didn’t expect the driver to tell us so much about the area and that was a pleasant surprise. We should have booked this earlier in our trip to learn about the area. We had a nice walk in the woods, did a little shopping in Sausalito and had a quick bite to eat there before returning to San Francisco.

A few tips

There are open and enclosed areas on the boat. The open areas have a much better view, but there will be times when you might feel pretty cold because of the wind. Dress in layers if you plan to be outside for more than just a few minutes. If you sit inside on the second floor, you get a pretty good view out the windows, but remember there are chairs right outside the windows so someone might sit in your view. The day we went was pretty busy, so the scenic angles were a little crowded at times, but people were pretty polite about it. The tour line also said to get there 40 minutes in advance, which was when people started lining up, but the boat didn’t board until 4 minutes before departure time The bay is pretty choppy, especially when you get out past the bridge, but you won’t notice it until they cut the engines to just watch the sunset for a bit. If you get seasick, then you may want to prepare yourself before they cut the engines. For most people, that is a good time to go out on the deck and get some fresh air. The views are better than I expected, so if you really enjoy good views, this will be your favorite part of the trip. The boat’s announcement system gave some details about what we were seeing, and it was much appreciated. The locals might know the names of the various islands, but I did not.

Insiders experience on going to Alcatraz Island

Travelers must redeem their tickets prior to the start of the tour so allot plenty of time for get the tickets and show up 30 minutes before the ferry leaves. The ferry has indoor and outdoor options so everyone can find a place that works for them. Restrooms and snacks are available on the pier, boat, and restrooms are also available on Alcatraz Island. Be prepared to walk up somewhat steep inclines once on the island. There are alternatives for those that truly need assistance. The narrated tour was fabulous along with the view of the cells and various rooms. Visitors are transported back in time to really imagine what it was like at Alcatraz. Definitely recommend this tour! Last thing, dress in layers because it gets really windy on the island. Enjoy!!

It was a great mix of...

It was a great mix of local history, nature and fun facts. Our tour guide, Dylan did a great job…very knowledgeable and helpful. The San Francisco tour was a little shorter than expected but took in a few well known spots. Muir Woods was beautiful and enough van be seen in the hour and a half allowed. We added the Alcatraz Tour to our trip and the tickets were waiting for us at “will call” and we had time to grab something to eat before getting on the ferry. It was a good tour!

Great intro to area wineries with a few bonus stops!

This was a very good tour for the price. After being picked up at our hotel, we stopped at a lookout point to take photos, then on to the first winery in Sonoma which took about an hour to get there. It was the Jacuzzi family winery which specializes in varietals from Italy and we tried three wines and toured the property and learned about winemaking and the family. Afterward, there was an opportunity to taste olive oil and balsamic vinegars in their shop and purchase products and wine. Then we stopped for lunch in Sonoma. There were lots of options to choose from and with 1.5 hours, plenty of time to eat without feeling rushed. Our guide, Ron, gave excellent suggestions. We chose Della Santina and were happy we did. Then it was back in the van to head to Napa and the second winery which was Artes, a more modern, larger winery with sweeping views of the Napa Valley. The original family that started that winery came from Spain, so many of the varietals were Spanish and it was interesting to see how a large operation and small operation vary along with how the different wines taste -- we tried four wines here. Rick, our guide at Artes, was also terrific. Afterward, we headed back to the city with a stop in Battery Spencer park to take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. This was a really nice addition as it was incredibly crowded and an uber/taxi to go up there from the hotel would've likely cost as much as the entire tour given how long we sat in traffic. We got great pics! Then we were dropped off at the front door of our hotel in time for dinner.

Great Experience

Great experience! We visited 3 very different wineries: Jacuzzi, Artesa, and Madonna. Jacuzzi is from Italy, Artesa is from Spain, and Madonna is a small local winery. Free time in downtown Sonoma provided lots of options for lunch and ice cream. Our tour guide and driver, Kristin, was excellent and pointed out many highlights along the way, including a stop at a Golden Gate Bridge look out point. Highly recommend when in San Francisco!
