Waterfall and rapids
There is a one hour drive to the starting point and a two hour drive back after finished but, it is well worth the time. Clint, our guide took us over a series of rapids, telling us the name and the category of each. We had two stops that included a hike up and over some serious rocks, into a runoff cave with a beautiful waterfall. If you are unsteady on your feet or lack the ability to scramble up rope ladders, you might want to skip this portion. However, if you can make it, the waterfall is one of the major highlights of the trip. We also stopped for a short lunch of sandwiches and snacks. The guides kept us well hydrated with plenty of water. The entire trip down the river took us about 3.5 hours. We were then helicopter lifted out of the canyon to meet up with our van. Everyone was fun and professional. I felt safe the entire time and would recommend this trip highly.

What a great time!
We did 1st Class with tour and lunch. If traveling with children, make sure you see the show before the train ride. They tie together and make a fun ride both there and back. Both the morning and afternoon snacks on the train ride were good - there was something for everyone. Out tour bus met us at the train station and took us to lunch first. Lunch was buffet style - OK - again there was something for everyone. We went to 2 spots - both beautiful - before heading back to the train station. We had plenty of time to look in the shops and hotel before our train ride back. It was a wonderful experience. The kids on our car (ages 5-11) made friends and joined together in all the fun. They had a great time!

You Should Absolutely Do This!
Tremendous experience and one we will always remember. Truly the best way to experience the Canyon in a way few people get to. Hike was challenging but doable and our guide Christy was amazing and interesting individual that we enjoyed spending time with. You are really set up to succeed here - from necessary equipment (poles, backpack, etc), to plenty of supplies/snacks and a pace that matches your ability.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Grand Canyon Experience That Exceeded Every Expectation
If I could give this experience more than five stars, I would. This hike was far better than anything we could have imagined, and Jon was a huge part of what made it so special. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area, but you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He hikes these trails every day (even on his days off) and his passion and expertise showed throughout the entire experience. What impressed me most was how prepared he was. He had thought of absolutely everything before we even knew we needed it: plenty of water, food, snacks, toiletries, and countless little essentials that ended up being exactly what we needed at the perfect moment. We never had to worry about a thing. Jon also genuinely cares about everyone on the trail. He was constantly checking in, not just with us but with other hikers as well, making sure people were doing okay and had enough water. His awareness, kindness, and commitment to safety were remarkable. The sunset experience was truly unforgettable. Having the Grand Canyon completely to ourselves as the sun went down was one of the most special moments of my life and something I will never forget. As an added bonus, Jon took incredible photos throughout the hike. I've paid significantly more for professional photos that weren't nearly this good. He knew all the best angles, locations, and moments to capture, and the pictures perfectly preserved the experience. Checking a Grand Canyon hike off my bucket list would have been amazing no matter what, but Jon turned it into something extraordinary. This wasn't just a hike, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I cannot recommend it enough.
