This tour was one the three of is were looking so forward to on our Annual Sisters’ Trip. Our guide, Brian, made this a great day!
From the meet up right on time, to the getting to quickly know all our group’s names, Brian was informative, witty and fun.
The food was really wonderful, and plentiful, leaving us all stuffed and happy. Brian is a font of information and knows some great stories, the ones of SF’s tough living, Wild West gold mining days of bars, tongs and brothels, to its development into the bustling tourist city of today.
One of the best foodie/history tours we have taken.

A LOT of information! Possibly a little rushed but it did run almost 4 hours. The 3 stops for food/tea were great! The tea shop owner was amazing and the tour highlight.

Scott was an incredible guide! He was so knowledgeable, a fantastic storyteller, and he really brought the history of Chinatown to life.

This is so much more than a food tour. It’s a cultural, experiential tour that is really special and you get to see and do a lot in the short time. The food was yummy but that was almost the sides to the main course which is all the cultural aspects that I got to see and learn: tea tasting, fortune cookie factory, a Buddhist temple, some mural and architecture facts, and even some shopping highlights too and a few other tid bits too. Small group and you keep moving to cover a lot. Very knowledgeable guide and I took so many pictures! Highly recommend this if you have a few hours and trying to decide what to see and do.

Ryan was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and such an overall down-to-earth guy that loves San Francisco. He taught us a lot of things about the nature of the city, the history of the Chinese people that immigrated here, and took us to some of his favorite spots.
I especially enjoyed the tea tasting - Mei was excellent at explaining each type of tea, how to brew it, and what flavor profile and health benefits each tea had.
We got to try so many different and delicious foods! Highly recommend this tour. Thank you Ryan for making my partner’s first time in San Francisco a memorable one.

Excellent tour combining Chinatown history and food. Only eight on the tour so very intimate. We stopped at two restaurants, a fortune cookie factory, and a tea shop. Also the guide brought pastries to start the tour. Scott was very knowledgeable.

The tour was as much about local lore and history as it was the food. The food was good but not stellar. Our guide, Cynthia, obviously loves San Francisco! She was very pleasant and a good storyteller. My favorite stop, and the most informative, was the tea shop. May was fantastic teaching about, preparing and serving tea. We had a great time, touring Chinatown and eating some delicious food as a small group of friends. Without our guide, we would have missed most of what we learned since many of the things she pointed out were not at all obvious to us. This was an incredible tour! Andre was fantastic and was very knowledgeable. We were local and booked this for grandma to take her grandkids around the city. A perfect was to spend a couple of days during spring break and a memorable experience for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone with family traveling into San Francisco who wants to spend a day exploring the city and the culture.

Great tour through San Francisco’s Chinatown. Our guide was on time and gave a great tour sprinkling in history and food experiences. We visited several historical places and ate at several different restaurants and bakeries. The food was yummy and the highlight was the tea parlor at the end.

This is an informative walking and tasting tour covering Chinatown. Our Guide, Scott, was very knowledgeable and told us interesting historical and cultural stories about the area. Along the way, we were given tasty samples of local food. It was a wonderful experience.

We talked, walked, and ate our way around Chinatown. Ryan was a wonderful guide full of fun facts about the history of the area as well as the horticulture. I especially enjoyed the tea sampling. I highly recommend this food tour.
