was not able to use the app as the internet was insufficient from our campground. Also the road was not passable in a sedan. a 4x4 was needed at the time.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Patricia, I’m sorry you were not able to use my Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park GPS audio driving tour due to limited internet at your campground. My listing recommends downloading and setting up the app beforehand since service can be poor in the area, and once downloaded, the tour works offline. I also include a vehicle-and-road-condition note because Valley Drive has rough dirt roads and sandy areas, and access can change with the weather, so checking current park conditions before visiting is important. My tour is valid forever, so I’d love for you to try it again, and I’m available daily from 9 AM to 6 PM EST if you need any help.
robert_N, Jul 2026
Audio tour is extra and not necessary for trip. $10 per person entry to park and $15 per car for drive. Pay at the park. It's a very rough terrain for any car.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Robert, you’re correct that park entry and drive fees are separate and paid directly at Monument Valley. My listing provides only the GPS-based self-guided audio tour, including route guidance, stories, and information along the drive. Since you did not need the audio tour, please reach out to me with your booking details between 9 AM and 6 PM EST, and I’ll be happy to offer either a refund or a replacement tour.

It's busy and hot so stay hydrated. Watch out for crazy tour bus drivers and don't try to take photos if you're driving.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Bill, I’m so glad you enjoyed my Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley GPS Driving Tour. It’s wonderful to hear you had a beautiful experience exploring this iconic landscape. Thank you for sharing your helpful tips on staying hydrated in the heat and driving safely in busy areas. William_C, Jun 2026
Got to the starting point, the app connected and it never started despite numerous attempts so we just closed it and used the map. Highly recommend Monument Valley though.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
William, I’m glad you were still able to enjoy Monument Valley, but I understand how frustrating it must have been when the app connected, yet the narration did not begin. Could you let me know what appeared on the app screen when you tried to start the tour? Did you see any error message, or did the audio simply not trigger? Please feel free to reach out so I can look into this and help troubleshoot further — I’m available daily from 9 AM–6 PM EST.
George_M, May 2026
Viator should do a better job of explaining where to go to start the tour. The directions should be: Drive to the Monument Valley entrance booth. There, pay $10 per person to enter the park. Also, pay $15 per vehicle to drive the park trail. This has to be done with a credit card. You will then drive through another checkpoint to show them the receipt of the money you just paid at the entrance booth. Once you go through that checkpoint, pull over to the side and start your downloaded audio tour. Proceed.
These instructions will eliminate future confusion for other guests.
Had I been provided these instructions, I would have given the top score because the audio tour itself was excellent. Also I would note that the Navajo people at the park are not at all interested in seeing the audio tour voucher.
Response from Host, May 2026
George, I’ve passed your comments on to our contact at Viator. I love the clear recommendation and hope they do too.
Eric_R, Dec 2025
I was able to connect it to Apple CarPlay so that not only did we hear it throughout the car and everyone could seethe pictures on the screen. The app was easy to use and I will definitely use it again in other locations if it’s available.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Eric, I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my Monument Valley driving audio tour. It’s great that Apple CarPlay worked well for you, so everyone could listen to the narration and view the images together, which really enhances the experience. I’m glad the app felt easy to use and that the tour fit naturally into your drive through such an incredible landscape. Thanks for sharing, and I’d love for you to use the tours again in other locations on your future trips. Nicola_M, Nov 2025
Fantastic day driving through monuments at monument valley. The self driving tour audio was great, lots of facts about the area and Navajo history. The tour responded to where we were on the 17 mile drive, and gave clear instructions. It was nice to do at own pace and stop and take pictures when we wanted. Highly recommend but make sure you have high clearance vehicle. Road rough and not for all vehicles as stated in the Navajo park rules. Stunning scenery and well worth the visit.
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Nicola, great to hear you enjoyed my Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley Self-Guided Driving Tour. Loved hearing that the GPS-based narration matched your location smoothly and that the Navajo history and local facts added to your experience. It’s such a stunning 17-mile loop, and being able to stop for photos at your own pace really makes it special. Thanks also for mentioning the high-clearance vehicle—definitely helpful for others. Really glad the tour made your visit even better, and I appreciate the recommendation. Melvin_O, Nov 2025
Very easy to use, to pause, and it follows exactly where you are as you are traveling.
What would have been neat would to insert a little authentic Navajo music along with it.
Enjoyed using the audio guide.

Paul_C, May 2025
Outstanding. Highly encourage the guided tour…we went back and watched the movies they suggested. Hey, if you don’t have an SUV or a four wheel drive, you can take a tour with the Navaho peoples on their vehicles. You do have to pay $25 to get in the park, but take the Navaho tour you get it reimbursed. If you drive you will want the audio tour for sure.
Be aware. The road through is loose sand and very off-road, not paved. If you are a moderate to experienced driver you won’t have any problem
Response from Host, May 2025
Paul, I’m so glad you enjoyed my Monument Valley Audio tour! Thanks for pointing out the value of both the audio tour and Navajo-guided options—each offers a unique lens into Monument Valley. You’re right: for those in their own vehicle, especially those without 4WD, the self-guided tour is a great way to explore safely while learning about the rich history and film stories. If you're planning more adventures, my Ultimate Utah Bundle covers Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef National Parks. Safe travels!
David_B, May 2025

The narrative alright. We learned something’s but seemed a little slight. Would recommend with caveat that we’ve heard better guides.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Dave, I'm sorry that my Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley tour didn't fully meet your expectations. Your feedback is precious for improving the tour. Please don't hesitate to let me know which aspects fell short for you, and I'll certainly consider them for future updates. Your insights help enhance everyone's experience. Mark_I, Aug 2024
App would NOT load, didn't work. We downloaded it multiple times and nothing. We called customer service and they were useless. We spent so much time trying to open the app we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy the valley. Very disappointed.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Mark, It's unfortunate to hear about your experience with the Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley Self-Guided Driving Tour. You might have tried downloading the tour once you were already at Monument Valley, where the network can be quite limited. You should have received an email with detailed instructions and a tutorial video to guide you through the setup. When followed correctly, the tour works offline seamlessly. If you encounter issues, please contact our support team directly rather than Viator customer service. Our team can assist you with technical difficulties from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. Your tour remains valid for a year after booking, so I hope you’ll give it another try and have the opportunity to enjoy the valley!
David_B, Jul 2024
The rock formations are hard to describe. It takes your breath away. The road could use some improvement but there were recents storms that had damaged the road.
The audio added to the trip with explainations and stories.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
David, it's great to hear you were captivated by my Monument Valley tour. The stories and audio do make those stunning rock formations come alive. For more breathtaking views and rich narratives, check out my Tour of 25+ National Parks bundle—it's full of incredible sights from the Grand Canyon to Yosemite and beyond!
Glenn_H, Jun 2024
The park was closed so we did not have an opportunity to do the drive. We only had one day in the area so could not go later. Waste of money.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
That's a real drag about the park closure, Glenn. The excellent news is our self-guided tours are valid for a year, so you can always use them whenever the park reopens. Next time you plan a trip, we recommend checking park hours beforehand to avoid surprises. Also, downloading the app and giving the tour a look-through ahead of time can help smooth things out. If you have any questions or want to discuss a refund, our support team is on hand from 5 am to 5 pm EST. You can also email me or request a refund through Viator, and we'll be happy to help.
Robert_G, Jun 2024
Monument Valley sites are so impressive and a must see. I mistakenly went to the Visitor Center, missed the early part of the tour and picked it up there. The tour finished before the end of the road with no clear way to exit. The dirt/grave road is extremely rough and uneven. It is not appropriate for a car. I strongly recommend using only a truck or SUV type of vehicle. Wished I knew this in advance.
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Thanks, Robert! Monument Valley is stunning. I’m glad the tour worked despite the detour. Explore more Parks with my 25+ Park Bundle! Happy travels!
Julie_B, May 2024
I enjoyed hearing history and information about the monuments. I was happy to do it at our own rate. It was very confusing figuring out how to download the information. I had to email for help, despite being told the link would be emailed automatically (it wasn’t). Some of the information played twice. Happy to have done it but interface could be improved.
Response from Host, May 2024
Thanks for the review, Julie! I’m glad you enjoyed learning about Monument Valley's history at your own pace. Sorry about the download confusion - I’m always working to improve my app. Check out my Tour of 25+ National Parks Bundle for more stunning landscapes! Explore iconic spots like Grand Canyon and Yellowstone with self-guided tours you can download beforehand. Happy travels!
Mark_D, Apr 2024
We never received the email that would allow us to use the audio tour. So not good. Had to drive on without the tour.
Response from Host, May 2024
Yikes, that's not the experience we want for you, Mark! The download link should have gone out right after purchase, but it might be chilling in your spam folder. We encourage everyone to reach out for help with any issues, and we missed the mark here. I'll get you a full refund to make it up to you. Please shoot me an email ASAP so we can get that processed.
Patricia_B, Apr 2024
Nice talk through Monument Park. It was difficult to stay on point because of the rough drive. Easy to download and use Ap.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
I’m glad you enjoyed my Monument Valley tour, Patricia! If you want to explore more national parks, consider my Tour of 25+ National Parks Self-Guided Driving Tours Bundle. This bundle from the Grand Canyon to Yosemite and beyond. Safe travels, and I hope to guide you on another adventure soon!
Colleen_B, Apr 2024
When we got to the visitors center, they knew nothing about this guide and told me it was a scam. I was unable to use it at all.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
I'm sorry about your experience with my Monument Valley Audio Tour, Colleen. It seems there was a misunderstanding at the visitor center; the tour is designed to start from that location and should not require their involvement. It's disappointing that we missed the opportunity to assist you directly, as our support team is available 24/7 to help with such issues. I want to make this right by offering you a refund. Please send a refund request, and we'll process it promptly. Your feedback helps us improve and ensure a better experience for all users.
Charles_K, Apr 2024
I would not recommend this to anyone. There is terrible cell service in the area of the tour. Downloading was impossible and even if I could was informed at the welcome center that the road (17 mile loop) was not accessible by our sedan car! I would like a refund as we never used the tour.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
I'm sorry about your experience with my Monument Valley Audio Tour, Charles. It's crucial to download the tour beforehand due to the spotty cell service in the area, and I always encourage this step. Regarding road access, sedan cars are typically permitted on the 17-mile loop according to the park's latest guidelines. However, I understand your frustration and am more than willing to process a refund for you. Please get in touch with me either through the app or via Viator voucher to sort this out. I hope we can make this right for you.
Harold_R, Jan 2024
I highly recommend this place, everything is very natural and beautiful, connecting with nature is very easy here, just disconnect from technology and enjoy the tour, the fact that you can do it in your own car makes it very intimate and pleasant, about the Viator app and the guiding tour I only have to say that it is excellent, congratulations, they have done a great job, my family and I enjoyed it very much 👍👍👍
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Harold, I'm delighted to hear that you and your family had such a wonderful experience at Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley with the help of this self-guided driving tour! Connecting with nature while learning about such an awe-inspiring place is indeed remarkable. If you're eager to discover more, don't forget to check out my Action+ Tour Bundle for over 100 more self-guided tours.
Gail_H, Oct 2023
Disappointed! The monument valley park personnel said the Viator is a scam to get me information. Very disappointing.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Sorry to hear about your experience, Gail. Our tour is purely an audio guide to enhance your visit and doesn't serve as an entrance ticket. It's always best to secure your entrance separately, and once you're all set with admission, fire up the app at the starting point and let the GPS-triggered audio guide you. On the upside, the stories on the tour aren't going anywhere. Kick back at home and let the tales transport you, or if you're up for a swap, reach out – I've got over 100 other tours you might vibe with. Do you need a refund or want to chat about where to wander next? I'm all ears! Safe travels!
Debbie_D, Oct 2023
It was great! We didn't need a tour guide with this app. No wait, just drove right through. I would do it again!
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hey Debbie, you had a smooth ride with my Monument Valley Self Audio Tour! So glad you enjoyed the freedom of exploring at your own pace. Remember, when the wanderlust bug bites again, my Action+ Tour Bundle has over 100 self-guided tours to enhance your adventures. Drive on and keep exploring!
Jeffrey_C, Oct 2023
Not enough mentioning of names of structures. Some roads mentioned to turn on were not open to public. Looks like it needs updating.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Apologies for the mix-up, Jeffrey. We've recently fixed those direction glitches and always aim to keep things current. The tour is centered on Monument Valley's essence and rich history. You might have had a different takeaway if you'd made it through the whole tour. Still, remember the product you bought doesn't have an expiry. You can soak in the stories from the comfort of your home whenever you're up for it. Cheers to more adventures and stories!
