Unforgettable experience with Larry
Our experience with Tribal Tours was nothing short of magical, and that is largely thanks to our incredible guide, Larry. If you are booking a tour, do yourself a favor and ask for him!
Here is why this tour was the absolute highlight of our trip:
Expert Storytelling & History: Larry has a deep, profound knowledge of the valley. His explanations weren't just facts read from a script; he shared the rich history and culture in a way that truly brought the landscape to life.
Gentle & Patient Pace: He was incredibly gentle, warm, and patient with everyone in our group. We never felt rushed, and he took the time to answer every single question we had.
A Magical Soundtrack: A standout moment was when Larry played an awesome flute melody for us right in the heart of the valley. The acoustics and the vibe were absolutely breathtaking—it's a memory we will cherish forever.
Picture-Perfect Memories: Larry also went above and beyond by taking fantastic photos of us throughout the tour, knowing exactly where the best lighting and backdrops were.
Thank you, Larry, and Tribal Tours, for a deeply respectful, educational, and beautiful day. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Amazing tour!
Highly recommend this tour. We had Travis as our guide and he was outstanding. He took very good care of our group, told us stories about his culture, had a sense of humor and sang and played music for us (guitar, drum and flute). The scenery and the sights we visited were amazing. The entire experience is one that cannot be experienced if driving on your own. This tour is definitely worth taking.

Great experience!...
Great experience! Appreciated Cody's knowledge, sense of humor, and the great pictures he took for our family. Many opportunities to ask questions to deepen our own understanding of Monument Valley and the local culture. Appreciated the storytelling and dancing, and Navajo tacos were a hit for our family. Note that the ride can get dusty; be sure to bring sunglasses and a bandana or neck gaiter.

Excellent optional tour for Monument valley
Excellent tour. Good way to get away from the crowds. If you want to get up close to the pictographs and ruins this is a great option. You will see great rock formations but not as majestic as Monument valley, but if you have a high clearance vehicle (4 wheel helps but just skip the roughest stuff if you don’t) drive the Monument Valley with an audio tour and pay for the Mystery Valley. Our guide Will did a great job covering the relics, ruins and Navajo history.

11/10 Amazing Wonderful Tour with Don
AMAZING experience with Don Mose! We had a wonderful robust tour of Monument Valley with a true expert - a local who has lived the history and culture. Don was engaging, funny, and taught us everything about his people, the land, symbology, and even how to take perfect photos. He took us to special places within the Valley that you cannot access on your own, and we met some locals who live right in the valley and continue living the Navajo traditions. Our group of friends had the trip of a lifetime, and this was the penultimate experience.
Don't hesitate, book this tour with Don; it will be the best decision you make!

Wonderful tour with Navajo Spirit Tours
On May 6th we had a great tour with Larson as our guide. He was very welcoming and open to answering all of the questions we asked. He is very knowledgeable about Navajo traditions and and the reservation. We would gladly have listened to the stories he told us all day if we could. What a beautiful Valley to explore and such a well done tour!
My husband and I had Larson as a guide before and I was so glad to have him there when I introduced my sister and her husband to Monument Valley.
Thank you to Navajo Spirit Tours and Larson for a wonderful day!

Valley of Beauty and History
It is a unique and very informative tour. The guide was great and her knowledge of the history of the Valley couldn't be better. She had use listening from start to finish and even showing us pictures she took of the different seasons of the Valley. The Valley was beautiful but the history that went with it made it extra special.

"No outsiders here"—Unraveling Mystery Valley's Secrets Through Navajo Eyes
If you are visiting Monument Valley, do not miss the Mystery Valley tour with Three Sister Navajo Guided Tours. It is important to know that you cannot enter Mystery Valley on your own; you must be accompanied by a guide to access this area. This tour is a great way to visit these protected sites and truly experience the soul of the landscape. Taking a tour guided by a Navajo person and owned by Navajo entrepreneurs is also a great way to support people who live in the Park or nearby in very basic conditions in order to stay true to their land and ancestors.
We took the 9 AM Mystery Valley tour (3.5–4 hours) and, it being the off-season, we were the only two people on the tour. Having Mystery Valley pretty much to ourselves—seeing only one other tour heading in as we were leaving—made the experience feel incredibly intimate.
Our guide, Amory, was excellent. As a Navajo man whose family has lived on this land for generations, he provided a connection to the valley that made all the difference. Despite it being a tour of just two people, Amory showed absolutely no hurry or reduced interest. He took the time to sit with us and give detailed explanations after every stop, sharing profound insights into both ancient life and the current state of the Navajo people. He was also very diligent about safety, checking for things like rattlesnakes before we explored the sites.
Beyond the history, Amory made sure we got great pictures, even sharing "photography tricks" at the most breathtaking sights to make the memories even more special. Seeing the pottery shards, storage areas, and especially the petroglyphs through his eyes was remarkable. The petroglyphs themselves are beautiful and mysterious; reaching us from ancient times, they clearly served both practical and deeply symbolic purposes for the people who once lived here. It was remarkable to stand there and imagine how the ancients' life in this magnificent, stark habitat might have been.
A quick logistical note: The tour starts at the Monument Valley Visitor's Center parking lot. Even if your pickup directions on Viator indicate a spot within the Monument Valley Scenic Drive, meet your guide at the Visitor's Center parking lot.
The highlight of the trip was Amory's closing words. He told us he was happy we were interested in his ancestors' way of life and that we were always welcome back because, as he put it, "there are no outsiders here—everyone is welcome". It felt less like a "tour" and more like a privileged look into a living culture. This was easily the most meaningful part of our trip. Take the Three Sister Mystery Valley tour and ask for Amory! Highly recommended!

We had a great time...
We had a great time learning about Diné culture and the beautiful land and vistas of Monument Valley. We highly recommend this tour as you are able to see spots not accessible from the regular driving tour. Our guide Cody was incredibly knowledgeable and very welcoming. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable Experience
Tim made the sunrise tour unforgettable. His easygoing style, combined with personal stories and meaningful cultural history, brought the landscape to life. I walked away with a genuine appreciation for the beauty, history, and Navajo culture of the area.

Must see tour!
Aaron was VERY personable, courteous, and knowledgeable about the formation of the monuments. Excellent tour guide! Being a native, he was able to share generational stories and insight into the Navajo culture. If we had just driven the 17mile loop on our own, we would have missed SO much.

Monument Valley Tour
Aaron was a great guide and very well informed on the area. He was very patient in answering all my questions. I learnt a lot from the tour which is an infinitely better experience than just driving the 17-mile road without any context. He also pointed out a few good photo spots that wouldn't have occurred to me.
He was warm and very down-to-earth. Would definitely recommend!
