You gotta try this—it's the best way to hop on and off if you want to see places. It hits all the famous spots, and we had some amazing sightseeing experiences. Bill, Collen (our Garden District guide), Mary, and Elroy were the best tour guides for New Orleans Hop on Hop off. They totally deserve a raise and definitely some extra cash because they did a perfect job showing us around and explaining the history!

Awesome Experience!

Wonderful tour package and we found it to be well worth the money. Our guide, Kimberly, was super knowledgeable about all things New Orleans. She was informative, fun and very engaging. Oak Alley included a guided tour of the home and self tour of the grounds. We enjoyed a wonderful gumbo lunch at the restaurant onsite and enjoyed the shopping and amenities. The swamp tour was a lot of fun and we saw lots of critters, including alligators, raccoon, pigs, Great Blue Heron, and egrets. The boat captain was engaging and we learned and saw a lot. Tour started and ended on time and was a great way to see the outskirts of New Orleans.

Black History is Our History: Never Forget

You will be changed forevermore. The atrocities during the era of slavery are palpable on this tour. We did the self-tour. Do outside first (takes about 1.5 hrs). Breathe it in. Amazing site with so much important History. After that, you'll have an half hour before getting back on your bus. It will be ample. Inside are washrooms, drinks/snacks and various gifts/books etc. Our driver, Dominique was terrific! The druve is approx. 1 hrs, each way from the pickup point. The best, humbling your. Do NOT miss. We cannot and should not ever erase our history. It is raw and painful but extraordinarily instructive. Let's never ever again cause such indignitinty to humans.

Incredibly impactful experience

This was the best historical tour I’ve ever taken. I visit New Orleans frequently over the years, attending Essence Fest and my daughter stayed after graduating from college. To learn the history of this exciting city especially the contributions people of color have made has made me appreciate the culture even more. The tour guilde was knowledgeable and thought provoking. I’ve already recommended this tour to friends and family. From Congo square, to the historic neighborhoods and beyond such a great experience!

Well informed and delightful tour

Because the tour guide is not driving, you have their complete attention to point out interesting spots and bits of history. Our tour guide was well informed, kept our attention and the 2.5 hour tour went by very quickly but never felt rushed. We traveled thru many parts of town. The bus was compact, clean and air-conditioned. The stops at the cemetery and city park were interesting and delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.

Your bus driver Preston on the grey line was excellent - our tour guide Keeja (no idea how to spell properly, hopefully I am close) did a great job and was very kind and patient. Another guide explained to us the plantation museum only in recent years started explaining the lives of the slaves who lived and died on the plantation. I hope they continue to expand on that aspect as I think it is integral to educate people on the entire depth of that history - it’s not just a grand old house with cool trees - it was a place of great suffering and injustice for so many people.

The best way to tour the city.

We had a great time using the hop on hop off busses. It really was the best way to explore the city. The staff were very friendly and patient and kept us well informed throughout the route. Linda was our favorite, she made the ride a lot of fun. She was funny, friendly and informative. Thank you Linda. We will definitely be using these busses again in the future and recommending to others. We also did a walking tour of the garden district with Paige. She was great and very informative as well. My experience was very...

My experience was very special. Kendall was our tour guide & he was AMAZING!!! We felt so bad for him because some people on our tour were being so rude to him. He was so kind & going miles to make the tour experience special & informational for everybody. There was a certain couple on our tour that were impatient waiting for the others to finish at certain stops so they took it out on Kendall. Kendall reacted in a way everyone would have, even better than me. He was trying to be as respectful as possible, but 3 of the guests were being super rude to him and egging him on. One of them kept saying he needed to let the situation go then it turn would keep egging him on. The couple that initially complained left the tour because some of us stepped in to tell them how unnecessarily rude they were being. And still the one person kept trying to get a reaction out of Kendall and saying he couldn't move on. It was clear she was trying to make him snap or something which everybody else on the bus agreed with. Everybody else on the tour was able to move on and enjoy the rest of the tour even though it was hard for Kendall to do. He still came through with an immense about of information for us & answering questions on the way back. The majority of us felt so bad for him and what he had to deal with. You really cannot please everybody, it is so common for some people to be disappointed.
