Day Trip to Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam and Marken
Richard was our tour guide and very informative and educational about each area we visited. From visiting the windmills and watching wooden clogs made and sampling cheese, to the recommendations of herring and smoked eel - we enjoyed it all. Theres walking involved. Some hills and others flat locations - but good walking shoes are a must. We attended the cruise after the tour. It was nice but not really as nice as I would have liked. The closed windows (non open air cruise) didn’t provide a great experience for seeing things because we had onshore seats with other strangers and at their mercy to allow window sights.

Highly recommended. Must do activity.
Rafa our guide was really friendly and knowledgeable and incredibly passionate about Amsterdam and his adoptive country in general. The bike tour was super easy and the e-bikes made even the long stretches easy. Amsterdam has a fantastic bike friendly system which meant we were out in the countryside within 10mins. The cheese and clog stop was highly entertaining and a lot of fun due to the presentation skills of the farmer Stephen.

Fabulous food tour!
This was the best activity we did in Amsterdam. Our guide, Barni, was absolutely amazing. Very engaging, lots of good history information, and great knowledge of the foods. We were there in a heatwave, so that was the only negative part. It was a lot of walking in the heat, but Barni had brought cold water for everybody and we had lots of breaks stopping to try the foods. Just a heads up, there were only 2 stops where we could sit and that had restrooms. We did fine, but I could see this tour being difficult for folks with limited mobility or decreased endurance.

Highly recommend this tour!
If the weather is very warm/hot, please take a bottle of water with you for the walk. The walk was very informative and we got to see more of beautiful Amsterdam. The Holocaust Memorial was very moving. Our tour guide, Lucas, was charming, clearly well-prepared and fun.

Netherlands tours focus on art museums, history, waterways, and natural landscapes in a country known for its vibrant cities and natural beauty. Along with dozens of expert-led Amsterdam explorations, you can find Netherlands tours that showcase the small country’s windmills, porcelain, and tulips fields in spring, or more food-focused excursions that let you sample smoked sausage, creamy Gouda, pickled herring, stroopwafels, and plenty of Heineken.
