Excellent tour with Highland Experiences! The day was long, but they made every effort to make you comfortable on the tour bus and with stops along the way. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Scottish history and obviously proud of his Scottish identity - wonderful to listen to his stories and experiences. The highlight was Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle - bucket list place for us! We could easily have spent more time there. The scenery throughout the day was magnificent and a perfect way to see the Highlands if you are limited on time in Scotland.

Highly recommend

James was wonderful and entertaining and quite full of information of the history of the royal mile and castle. The group size of 8 was ideal to be nimble enough to maneuver around the larger groups. Would highly recommend. The tour is entirely outdoors so, dress appropriately as the wind can be quite strong once at the castle. Also plan on exploring the castle for a bit after the tour.

Excellent tour with Robert

We had an overall excellent experience on our tour of Edinburgh Castle! Our tour guide, Robert, was fantastic and funny. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and his enthusiasm really made the experience that much more enjoyable. You could tell he truly loves what he does, and he had a great way of bringing the castle’s history to life while keeping everyone entertained. My husband and I both really enjoyed the tour and learned so much along the way. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Edinburgh! We would absolutely recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Robert as your guide. We also booked our tour at noon and found out the cannon at the castle goes off at 1pm every day so that was really cool to see.

Informative and good guide

It was very informative experience and the guide made sure I could manage the steps. I am over 80 with arthritis and the vaults posed no problems. The guide was very informative and friendly which added to the experience and enabled us to imagine how wretched life must have been for so many working people.

An excellent day in the Highlands

Great day out to Skye and Eilean Donan. Our guide, Jason (Midge Jagger), was funny and full of good stories, and he kept a long day on the road easy and enjoyable. Well chosen photo stops and stunning Highland scenery, with lochs and waterfalls everywhere. The Old Man of Storr was mostly in mist for us, but still a lovely spot. Highly recommend!

Awesome Day Trip

Was a great trip from Edinburgh. Our driver Scott was funny and very informative. He had no shortage of knowledge of Scottish history and geographic locations. We got to snap some beautiful photos of Glencoe and took the boat ride on Loch Ness. A lovely day and a great way to see the the highlands on a day trip. It is a very long day, but it was worth it for my friend and I to see what we got to see.

Wonderful Day at St. Andrews

This was a terrific tour. Our guide Eric was so knowledgeable, and we learned so much from the moment we left Edinburgh. The stories he told really brought what we were looking at to life. Wish we could’ve had another 2 hours in St. Andrews. We walked the entire course but had little time to explore the town in the 2 hours 45 minutes you have. Depending on what you’re interested in, you have to commit and just do it. As a golfer, seeing this course in person fulfilled a life long dream. Thank you Eric for a terrific day! Great tour and guide!

It was really worth it. The castle is huge so having someone to explain and explore with you is priceless. Our tour guide, Big G (Graeme), was amazing! So knowledgeable and very friendly with a great sense of humor. Could not have asked for a better guide, just wish the tour was longer!! lol! But our guide hit the highlights and then we had the rest of the day to explore the rest.

Keith was an excellent guide! He was funny, informative, and kept the group engaged throughout the tour. Wonderful trip!

For Harry Potter fans, this is a must. For all.others that want to see the highlands in all its glory, this a must. Our guide Jason made sure to touch upon all the high poiints, and also give us plenty of history. Would recommend this. Great tour through the castle. Ingas was a great guide, and I learned a lot. He shared stories and pictures which brought the history to life. It's easy to walk past the buildings without a full understanding, so it is definitely recommended to have a tour to understand the history from a local.
