Our guide, Stefan, was very knowledgeable, passionate about his subject and made historical events come to life. His observations regarding the "whys" of the Third Reich and the ascension of Hitler were spot on. This tour will make you think and consider how the past relates to the present and the future of our world. An afternoon to remember.

Excellent Tour! Sad, But A Necessary Place To See !

This tour of the Mauthausen Concentration Camp was excellent. The guide was prepared and provided a great deal of historical information that was relevant to every part of the camp that we toured. I never felt rushed through it at all. We were given time to learn about each portion and given time to take in the information. Additionally, our driver that picked us up in Vienna and drove us to Mauthausen was EXCELLENT! He could be a tour guide himself-he may be I don't know, but I felt safe with him as a driver and he was very knowledgeable about so much all along the way to the camp.

The Hills did come Alive

We had a long drive to Salzburg, but the journey was made truly enjoyable by the wonderful stops along the way. As good as advertised

The tour was as good as advertised. It is indeed a small group, only 7 of us. Our tour guide Balazs is very knowledgeable and attentive. We were able to stop by most of the top tourist attractions in Budapest. If you have only one day and know nothing about Budapest, this tour is the way to go.

The drive from Vienna through the countryside is a tour in itself. It gives a great context for Vienna in the wider region of Austria. Great rest facilities along the way and an opportunity to see expansive beautiful scenery. More than enough time in Salzburg to see all the sites we expect to see in this part of the world. Hallstatt a beautiful 16th-century village

It is 300kms from Vienna so an 8am departure arriving at approx 1pm at Hallstatt then depart at 4pm back in Vienna at approx 7.30-8pm. It is beautiful even in the drizzly rain. The amazing history of their salt mining can be seen in the objects and displays in the museum.

Worth the visit!

My adult daughter and I absolutely loved this tour--and that was due in large part to our guide, Bilijana. She did such an excellent job of filling us in on the history of the Hapsburg Dynasty keeping it simple and easy to follow. Her stories and knowledge were interesting and she took us from room to room sharing many fascinating details. This was easily one of our best tours on this trip. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get a handle on the royals of Austria as well as information on Austrian life in general there. It's obvious that Bilijana loves what she does and the tourist is the beneficiary of that! Oh, and plan to stop in the Gloriette Cafe atop the hill behind the gardens if you have time after the tour.

Wonderful Tour

Markus was amazing - he was very punctual, professional and entertaining. He made sure that w le are comfortable and well informed throughout the trip. We had an amazing day in Hallstatt and Brigitte, our local guide in Hallstatt was very good. Even though it was raining we were able to see everything and able to have a proper meal at one of the best restaurants in Hallstatt. Wonderful experience

The music was very enjoyable. The church is beautiful as well. Come early to get a better seat. The regular seats are not comfortable because of the kneeling area. The seats on the side are more comfortable. It was not hot nor cold in the regular area. It was a little cooler when I moved to the chair on the side.
