We enjoyed our tour last week with Siggy. She was quite informative and interactive with the group as she encouraged the group to ask questions the whole way. Such interesting historical stories. The 2.5 hour length passed quite quickly with such interesting material shared

Apart from the excellent content delivered in equally excellent English by Dieter, don’t be put off by 2.5 hours walking in the cold, like I nearly was. Our guide included a couple of indoor stops to warm up and recharge. Well worth going.

What an awesome experience. The guide Wolfgang was great throughout the whole thing. His english is very good and I loved that he had the voice headsets to use during the tour so everyone in the group could hear him without any issue. There is a good mix of information including local buildings and areas around the tour area and he was always happy to answer any additional questions. You can tell he is not only very knowledgeable but also very passionate about what is he talking about the whole time. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Our tour guide, Deter, was made for this job. He was so nice, very knowledgeable and included some personal side stories and pictures to tie things together. Plenty of walking but it was a good pace. We were a part of a bigger group (28ish?) but had no problems hearing the guide because we had headphones while he had a speaker.

Am informative walk around the city.

Mid-named

Tim_K, Jan 2026
It’s NOT focused on Hitler. It has interesting information, but the tour is very mis-named. Good guide.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Dear Tim, Thank you for your feedback! The tour is inspired by the book “Hitler’s Vienna” by Austrian historian Brigitte Hamann and focuses on the historical and social context of Vienna at the turn of the 20th century, including the environment in which Hitler lived. All tour stops and themes are clearly listed in the description before booking. We’re nevertheless glad to hear you found the guide good and the information interesting! Best regards, Good Vienna Tours

Walking in Hitlers steps.

If history is your thing then don’t Miss this tour!Wolfgang was exceptional in his knowledge and delivery of information. Thouroughly enjoyed this tour, even though the weather was freezing. Also enjoyed his philosophical approach.

Great if you’re a history buff

Miguel_V, Jan 2026
Extremely informative and in depth. This is not a WWII walking tour; it is as described, a walking tour related to Hitler . The guide was very knowledgeable and while long, 2.5 hrs kept it interesting and moving

I would highly recommend this tour

Excellent Tour - Horrible time in history

John_F, Dec 2025
Our guide was wonderful, very knowledgable and really gave a great overview of such a horrific time in history. We all learned so much about Hitler and how antisemitism grew in Germany and Austria.

A must do tour

Stephanie_M, Dec 2025
I will admit that I am a history buff, so when I saw the subject of this tour, I knew I had to do it. Our guide was Dieter, who is a very well read historian as well as being a guide. He took us through Hitler's early life and to several sites, around Vienna, that were linked with Hitler's life and career. Dieter's description and insights were brilliant and very informative. He was also an excellent guide. He made sure the group stayed together, had rests when they needed it and he made sure everyone was looked after. In conclusion, this is a must do tour if you are a history buff. Even if you are not, do this as you will learn a lot about a very turbulent period in time. With Dieter as your guide, you cannot go wrong.

Most educational!

Cathey_T, Dec 2025
This is one of the best tours I’ve been on! Charles was an excellent tour guide and provided very interesting facts about Vienna and Hitler’s connection to the city. I recommend this highly!

Brilliant presentation!

Jonathan_Z, Dec 2025
Our guide Stephan did a great job, especially with showing extra info and adding context via pictures on his tablet. Be aware that the tour is lengthy and will be cold in winter evenings.

Excellent tour

Rachel_E, Dec 2025
Stephan did an excellent job with our tour. He gave a detailed, informative tour and was quite engaging. I liked that he had brought along an iPad with maps/pictures to enhance the talks. It was a great way to learn about a piece of Austria’s city.

Excellent well informed session. We learned so much.

Erin_Z, Dec 2025
Fantastic walking tour. So much history and Wolfgang did an excellent job of threading together the past with the present. Well worth it!

Great storytelling by a very knowledgeable guide

mya_d, Dec 2025
We loved this walking tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable - we wondered if he was a history professor at a local university? His presentation was very balanced, and we learned a lot of facts that we were unaware of before (ex. The coverup by King Franz over the suicide of his son because suicide was considered a sin by the Catholic Church. Also, the huge numbers of Jews who took their lives instead of being deported to the camps - tragic!).

Brilliant

Kate_O, Dec 2025
It was brilliant we learnt so much the guide was amazing she had fantastic knowledge for the subject matter
