Whales galore!!!

We had an amazing adventure! I thought we’d be lucky to see a few whales. We were absolutely surrounded by them on all sides of the boat! At least 40 whales. Several cows with calves. Definitely the best part of our whole trip!!! The crew was so knowledgeable and friendly they really made the whole experience great.

Unusual circumstances

Due to a mistake on our part, we were unable to make it in time for the cruise. We were terribly disappointed, but I can not say enough about how kind the people were, and how accommodating they were! So many dolphins!

We have never seen as many dolphins as we did on this dolphin cruise! They teamed up with another boat to provide an environment that made the dolphins jump and play between the two boats. Loved the air conditioned interior that we could retreat to when we got too hot. Everyone was very charming and helpful.

Awesome dolphin cruise

We had a great dolphin cruise this afternoon. Our Captain Sarah and First Mate Wendy were awesome. They provided us with a lot of information about the area and also the dolphins that we viewed. We had a wonderful time. We saw quite a few dolphins that were swimming right by our boat. I would definitely book with Low Country Watersports.

If you are looking for a whale-watching experience that will exceed your expectations, this is the one for you! Capt. Josh and Andrew were so amazing. From the pickup to the drop-off, it felt like such a personalized experience. The drone footage, on top of the trip itself, put this trip head and shoulders above any other whale-watching excursions. Our bucket list of animals to see was exceeded when we came across a superpod of orcas, including babies. If I ever find myself in Icy Strait Point/Hoonah again (hopefully will), they will be the first thing I book! Book early so you don't have to chance just being on a waitlist.

You NEED to do this trip.

I was thoroughly impressed with Captain Dennis and Rey Rey(not sure on the spelling. Captain Dennis was fun, informative, safe, and very personable. He took time to explain answers to our questions and was very patient with us when we asked about boundaries. Rey Rey was so helpful and kind. She handled other guests with grace and kindness when they needed extra help getting into and off of the boat. I would HIGHLY recommend this crew to anyone. My brother and I are already planning another trip for this excursion alone. So good.

I had an incredible...

I had an incredible experience. The team was very kind and welcoming. Our guide Isaiah shared his knowledge about Marine life, sang a few songs, and answered all of our questions. Most importantly, he knew where to go, we got there fast, and we were the only boat on the water to see nearly a dozen humpback whales feeding in the bay. While you can never predict what wildlife are going to do, you can book a tour with people who are knowledgeable about the area and the ocean. Highly recommend.

So many dolphins!

It was so cool! There were so many dolphins just playing, families, babies, it was like a movie. The scenery is beautiful, the staff were very nice and helpful! The captain was informative and seemed very chill. The lighthouses were beautiful to see and the islands were as well! Well worth it, and it's not expensive! My two daughters loved it as well! Great picture opportunities!

Fun family excursion

Amazing experience. The guys on board are friendly and knowledgeable about the sea creatures. We were able to see a lot of dolphins. The staff made sure we had plenty of pictures. When I come back for another vacation, I’ll be sure to book again. The guys work off of tips, so leave a little tip for them.

The tour with San Juan Safaris was fantastic, Brian and the staff was amazing—friendly, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable. My only disappointment was with the information provided by Viator. There should be much clearer communication about the Washington State ferry system, especially for travelers coming from far away. Many customers may not realize that vehicle reservations are strongly recommended and should be booked well in advance. I believe the following information should be clearly displayed on the Viator booking page: Ferries often run late and are occasionally canceled, so please plan to arrive on a ferry that reaches the island at least two hours before your tour departure. Vehicle reservations are strongly recommended for this route and should be made in advance. Walk-on passengers do not need reservations. Including this information on the Viator page would help customers better prepare for their trip, reduce unnecessary stress, and make the overall experience even better.

We had a perfect experience with the crew of the quicksilver. Although very late in the season we were able to see mothers and their calfs thanks to the captain. Awesome experience. MAXIMUM possible vibes on this one.

Top-tier tour. Honestly I don’t know how it could have been better. We were seeing whales basically non-stop, and it was cool to see how the crew could reliably tell where the most active whales were going to be. And they were NOT KIDDING about that open bar. Not a bluff y'all, they kept us stocked. Not too big of a group for the boat size, and the whole thing felt relaxed in a decidedly non-commercial way. Pretty perfect all around.
