A well paced tour for all ages which provided two toilet stops along the way. Leo gave a quick history rendition and explained the significance of the old town. The walk was flat and took 21/2 hours. Highly recommended for a tourist who wants to have an introductory understanding of the history and social fabric of Taipei. Thank you Leo!

Leo was fantastic! I really enjoyed the walking tour through Taipei Old Town as it was a perfect way to get introduced to Taiwan. I had just landed and went straight to the walking tour where Leo welcomed me and the other travelers with a warm smile.
It was a beautiful day to walk through 228 Peace Memorial Park to Ximending and learn more about Taiwanese identity, culture, and history. Leo was an engaging, informative, and fun guide and I had an incredible time learning more about Taipei, Taiwan. He had me teary eyed, laughing, asking follow questions. He was a wealth of knowledge and provided great suggestions. We had sufficient time at each stop to soak in the information, take photos, and immerse ourselves in the ambiance never feeling rushed. He answered questions by providing context and perspectives. There were toilet stops along the way, which was convenient. Since it’s Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival, the tour was vibrant and lively with amazing decorations everywhere.
Overall, I’m so glad I booked this tour with Leo. Memorable experience and a great way to kickstart my exploration of Taipei!

This tour was so much more of a historical education on Taiwan than I thought it was going to be. My understanding of the history and culture was limited and this was an eye opener. The guide was passionate about her history and knowledgeable. She made it fun, even with the difficult to hear parts. The city sites were great and it it was an excellent way to spend some time learning and seeing old town Taipei.

Vincent is super cool, wildly informative, and genuinely passionate about Taipei and Taiwan’s history, culture, and everyday life. He has an incredible way of bringing the old town to life—sharing fascinating stories, local insights, and historical context in a way that’s engaging, fun, and never boring. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and that energy is contagious.
The route through Taipei Old Town was perfectly curated, giving us a deep understanding of Taiwan’s past while also connecting it to modern Taipei. Vincent answered every question with depth and clarity, sprinkled in humor, and made everyone feel welcome and involved—no matter where you’re from or how much you already know.
This tour is the perfect introduction to Taipei and an absolute must for first-time visitors or anyone wanting a richer, more meaningful experience of the city. We walked away feeling informed, inspired, and even more in love with Taiwan.

This is a great tour. It’s an easy walk but you cover a lot of Taiwan’s history. Chester, the tour guide, really knows his stuff and was a terrific guide. I’ll happily recommended him to anyone I know coming to this fabulous city.

Bessie was an amazing and knowledgeable guide. She took the time to explain Taiwan's history, including not only the succession of occupiers, but how they impacted the island and how the population felt about them.
Great discussion of Qing influence, Japanese influence, and 228 and Chiang Kai-shek's flee to Taiwan.
Good further discussion on Taiwan to day as well.

Great information about Old Taipei. Taille our guide was very informative and took us on a walk around town. This helped to get a general layout idea of the area if you want to go back to do your own exploring. She was open to questions and was very helpful. Wear comfortable shoes as there will be many steps involved. Great tour when you first get into Taiwan.

This tour was well worth it, if you are interested in history and culture. We had Tâilé and she was a really good guide, really enthusiastic and passionate. The weather wasn’t great and non stop rain but she made sure for many parts we were undercover whilst she told us about the history of the old town. Well recommended, thanks.
