Perfect timing, new car, excellent driver, highly professional guide. Knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, patient. It was a very hot and humid day and i am not young and do have some mobility problems. But I enjoyed every minute of the tour. It was well paced and we talked about history, architecture, education, food and a variety of topics. For some reason I was expecting a group tour like I've had in the past, your and your best friend plus 30 strangers on a bus, one tour guide with a microphone, that sort of thing. I did not realize that for this great price you could get a private tour with your very own tour guide just for our twosome! I also didn't realize it would be so complete, with cars at each interval for just the 3 of us to connect us to the next stop, and lunch would be whatever we wanted to order at a wonderful restaurant--it was nearly a banquet. All this was wonderful but the particularly great part of it was our guide Lin. She kept to English for us (my bestie is bilingual but I don't have a word of Chinese) and not only gave us facts about our tour but steered us toward great shopping opportunities, made sure we were comfortable at every step (it was broiling hot), made great recommendations at our restaurant, and was so incredibly kind and welcoming and conversational, it was like we'd made an instant friend. She was so splendid a person to get to know that I would absolutely ask for her again on any and every tour for which she was available. If you are looking for something one-on-one and to eat great food, get this tour, and if you want a terrific person to be your guide do ask for Lin, she's just amazing!

Wonderful guide and tour

Emma was a great guide. The tour started with no stress and a nice pick up vehicle. Everything was very well organized. I travel a lot independently and I’m so happy we chose this tour with an English speaking guide. I think it would have been pretty stressful otherwise. Despite the intense heat, we really enjoyed this tour. I’d caution climbing in the summer heat though! The restaurant we went to for lunch was wonderful with an abundance of food. The hospitality there was great. I’d absolutely recommend going on this tour!

Fun Day in Shanghai with Michael

With a 14 hr layover in Shanghai, it was great to be guided around the city by an expert. We were advised to go hungry and that was definitely on point. I’ve never left a food tour so full. Everything was very organized and flowed well. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. When I expressed interest in Durian, she bought some for us to taste. It was very unexpected and fun. She also bought us flower bracelets and explained their history. Each place we stopped was unique and the food and drink were so good. Overall, it was a very delightful and immersive experience that highlighted local food and culture. A Home Run!

This tour of Shanghai with Jenny’s Tours was exceptional. My friend had never visited the city and we only had a day to explore so I wanted to make sure he got the most out of our day. Our driver picked us up at our hotel outside of the city (for a nominal fee) and delivered us to Apple, our guide. She was thoroughly knowledgeable about the city whether exploring the Old Town, Bund, French Concession or the modern financial district in Pudong. She knew the best place for authentic Chinese cuisine and we enjoyed a fantastic lunch of dumplings, soup and noodles. My friend is afraid of heights, so we didn’t go up to the top of any of the skyscrapers but instead parked where we could get great photos of them. Since we had some extra time, Apple suggested we visit a fairly new art district, AKE, developed on the site of a former factory, which was really cool and something new to me as a previous visitor to the city. Lots of eateries, fun shops, cool architecture and photo ops there and the perfect way to end our day. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Apple. And our driver was very courteous and prompt when picking us up throughout the day. He even provided umbrellas for the day when the showers came. Again, I cannot say enough about our tour and for me the key selling point was the option to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel outside of the downtown area. That really helped us save time and be more efficient with our schedule. But once we met Apple, we knew this day was going to be a home run, and it was! I highly recommend this tour by Jenny’s Tours.

Excellent time spent.

Really a nice experience. We got a guide named Michael who spoke excellent English. He can also speak several other languages like Japanese too. The pace of the tour is leisurely, you get some history, some culture, a chance to eat or snack with some of the local delicacies. Really enjoy our trip to this little town that seems to preserve life as it was 100 years ago.

Magical evening

We had an amazing guide named Michael. We were picked up on time and were taken to the boat where we had a seat in the VIP section. Well worth the money. Michael was very informative, polite and knowledgeable. He filled us in on the history of Shanghai while explaining the many buildings we could see. After that we were taken to the tower and once again Michael was an excellent guide explaining the quirky names of buildings. It was rather a misty night so the view wasn’t the best but he made it interesting with his stories. We were then taken to a local restaurant where he explained the food and culture of the Chinese. The food was excellent. He carefully chose dishes for us considering I’m vegetarian. The entire evening was amazing. From hotel pickup to drop off we could not fault anything. Our driver was safe, our guide was wonderful so it made the experience magical. I would definitely recommend this tour specially if you are lucky enough to get Michael as your guide
