Top Taipei Day Trips

Thank you to Molly for a wonderful tour! It was a pleasant drive out to Thousand Island Lake. We had lots of time to take in the beautiful views from different vantage points. From there we continued on to Pinglin where we had a lovely tasting of 3 local teas at Mr Huang’s tea shop. Then we finished at the Pinglin Tea Museum, which gives lots of interesting facts about the rituals of tea. This is a great way to spend an afternoon outside the city and especially so if you enjoy tea!

We had such a wonderful experience with Herbert as our tour guide in Taiwan. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire day. He did a fantastic job customizing the itinerary based on our interests and made sure we were able to see a great mix of cultural sights, local neighborhoods, shopping areas, and food spots without ever feeling rushed. What we appreciated most was how attentive Herbert was to the little details. He was flexible when we wanted to adjust the schedule, gave us helpful recommendations along the way, and made everything feel very easy and stress-free. He also shared interesting background and local insight about the places we visited, which made the experience much more meaningful than simply sightseeing on our own. The entire day was comfortable, well organized, and genuinely enjoyable. We felt very well taken care of from beginning to end. I would absolutely recommend Herbert to anyone visiting Taiwan, especially if you want a guide who is professional, personable, flexible, and truly cares about making sure you have a great experience. Our guide Garen Chan was truly outstanding! We were impressed with her knowledge and caring attitude. She took great care to ensure our comfort and safety - as I walk with a cane. She put together an itinerary that took us through traditional as well as modern sites. We loved how she passionately shared the history and culture at each location. We had the flexibility to make adjustments throughout our tour. Should we return to Taipei in the future, we would love to experience another food tour with her.
