Great tour and guide
It’s a long tour but you get to see so much! Our guide was Ken, who was super knowledgeable and did a great job of helping us understand what the ruins might have looked like back then, along with what society was like, and the general history of this area and the Roman Empire. The radios were such a good addition as well, so you could hear everything without having to be close to the guide and in the midst of other noise.

Henry was the best tour...
Henry was the best tour guide ever! His knowledge and passion brought our tour. I would highly recommend.

Great tour guide made a great experience even better.
Sadly I forgot the gentleman’s name , but our tour guide was super cool and super knowledgeable. He said he’d been doing tours for 12 years or so. Out of all the guided tours we took in Italy , this was my favorite , and it was probably because the guide was so good. He had curly blonde hair annd a pony tail and was maybe in his mid 40s. I just want him to get the credit he deserves. 5/5 would recommend.

Palatine Hill (Palatino)
  • Palatine Hill is a must for Roman history buffs. Older kids also enjoy ancient Rome tours, typically when accompanied by a guide experienced in engaging kids.

  • Most of the hill ruins are open to the elements, so bring a hat and sunscreen in the summer, and dress warmly in winter.

  • The archaeological site is spread out over the hillside along rough paths and uneven surfaces, so wear comfortable shoes. The site is not recommended for wheelchairs or strollers.
