Great way to view lots of puffins!
This quick tour was just great. The guide on the boat gave us great information about puffins while we made our way to a small island that was just teeming with the adorable little birds. We saw tons of puffins- flying, diving, swimming and nesting- it was just what we wanted- plus we got great photos taken by the guide with a professional camera after the tour.

The best experience with icelandic horses
I love the horses, they each have different wonderful personalities. They picked me up at the nearest bus stop near the hotel. They will text you 2 days to a 1 day before. Be sure to check the pick location since most 3rd party agents like viator or get guide may advertise direct pick up. That from what I know, is rarely true because the bus or van cannot get to a lot of streets where hotels and guesthouses are located. They usually pick up form the list of bus stops nearby and they are all numbered. I would suggest double or triple checking the map earlier especially if you do not have a phone plan that allows you to call easily. Once you reached the farm, you get a helmet for horse riding and get introduced to the horses. You stepped into their fence area where some horses are introduced. Then they take a bit of time to find the right horse based on your comfortability with horses, your riding experience, your height and weight. They dont really tell you the details though. It is something I observed as I was left alone in the fenced area waiting for my horse. I love my horse. He is beautiful creature and very calm. The only time he went a bit excited is when he sees certain grass fields where we make a stop for them to graze. It is a bit hard for me to get onto the horse but I am 50 years old, and not slim built. Nevertheless, the horse guides are experts in giving you a lift. They do speak English but they dont do a lot of small talks. They concentrate in getting you into the horse and doing the trail hike. The scenery is beautiful and it was a wonderful ride for a 2nd time rider like myself. I enjoyed it very much. There are a lot of small midges in the summer, something I didnt know about as a 1st time traveler to iceland. It never came up in my research. So I would get a face netting, it would have made the experience a lot better. They do get into your nose, ears, and even eyes. But my review for the farm and horse riding 100% positive. I am adding details so the logistics are easier for future travelers. The scenery ia just beautiful..I wish there is even a smaller group so I can build bonds with the horse I am riding and get to know the horse riders and guides. I wouldnt mind paying more to have more time to get to know the owners, feed the horses, and have more time riding. It is a recommended experience. I haven't been on a horse since I was 16 years old and I was thrown off and hurt myself badly. I kept to myself and this ride made me love horse riding again. Icelandic horses are very special. When we get back to the farm from the trail the owners guve treats to the horses and give them a lot of love. They have a little refreshment of water, coffee and some light sweet bakery for us before gathering to drop us back at our original pick up stopsm

A Must Do
Absolutely amazing experience not to be missed. You see several iconic spots of Iceland that make it seem unreal. Everyone I spoke to on my trip, locals, all recommended the peninsula because it is known as “mini Iceland.” Definitely agree! My guide. LEROY, was so knowledgeable and fun! I learned so much and bonus, he takes great photos! Also, he is a great driver considering all the insane tourist drivers on the roads there trying to cause accidents.
