Enjoy an unforgettable angling trip on Iceland’s icy waters on a sea-fishing trip from Reykjavik. What To Expect
Meet the friendly captain and crew on your fishing boat, and don some warm coveralls to keep you cozy. Then, enjoy the views as your boat heads out into the icy waters of Reykjavik’s Faxaflói Bay.
Feel the thrill as you cut through the waves, and set about using the supplied angling equipment. As well as experienced anglers, this trip is ideal for first-timers, so if you’ve never been sea fishing, don’t worry — the crew will guide you through the essentials. All the necessary items, including fishing rods and bait, are provided on board.
Once you’re ready, drop your line and enjoy an exciting angling session. Species you may catch include cod, haddock, pollock, halibut and rockfish.
If you’re fishing in summer (May to August), your boat will pass the islands of Akurey and Lundey during your trip. Both islands are famous for their seabirds and summertime puffin colonies, so keep your eyes peeled for these colorful birds nesting on the shores.
After your fishing session, we can either prepare your catch for you to take back to your hotel/apartment to be cooked, or grill the catch on board.

Awesome first fishing experience in Iceland. Both my wife and I caught a lot of nice cod and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The mates, Otsgir (may have misspelled his name) and Samuel were both great and super friendly and helpful. They worked hard to make sure everyone caught fish, especially the kids, and filleted and cooked up the fish and some potatoes for everyone to eat on the trip back in. If I go back to Iceland, I will definitely fish with them again!

My husband and I went and together caught 4 large cod. It was fantastic being able to catch and then eat them on the boat.

We caught so many fish! The captain and crew were helpful and friendly, and prepared and cooked the fish we caught, which was delicious. We were able to see whales swimming right next to the boat on the way home. One of the best fishing experiences our family has ever had! (Kids aged 10 and 13)

Fishing has it's ups and downs, let's just say it was 100% up today. My family and I caught over 70 cod within 2 hours, which they oooked afew on the boat. Just overall great time with a great team.

The staff was very friendly and we caught lots of fish. My only complaint would be that it was shoulder to shoulder fishing. That said, it still was a fun experience.

Large boat with seating inside, toilets and drinks available. Hosts on boat were terrific. We caught fish like crazy!

What a great experience! We went as a family including teens and preteens and had such a great time exploring different fishing locations and having a great meal prepared! The team was just awesome and so friendly!! One of our top highlights for our first visit to Iceland!

I caught a dead fish and it was the funniest thing. My husband caught a cute fish and the food was great. Definitely didn’t catch much on the day but well worth the experience.

Wow!!! Unreal experience!!! One of the best excursions I have done in Iceland! I caught 9 good size Cods and my fishing neighbor caught 12 Cods and a few monsters! Every single person caught at least one Cod! On the way back we had a buffet of potatoes and Cod! Everyone was full and there were still left overs!!
Captain Stefan could be one of the best captains in the city! Found the sweet spots! Vera was super nice, fun and knowledgeable!! Kiljan was a great teacher and deck hand!! They all help you bring in the fish and help us with crossed and tangled lines.

Great trip out into the ocean. A few of the other folks who booked the trip got their lines caught on the bottom of the ocean. The crew works hard ensuring with whatever they had on board that folks could still fish. Lots was caught and the fish cooked on board was delicious. Great experience and something different! Highly recommend.

We were drifting over a rocky bottom, as that is where the cod were. Caught one then next drift, got snagged up and lost my weight. We were using 5oz to get down to the bottom. Asked for another weight and they didn’t have any. This was literally after 15 minutes of fishing They took a reel handle and tied it to my line but it wasn’t nearly enough to get me down with the current. Also a lot of the rods had broken tips or missing the last eyelet. Once I complained and a few other folks got hung up and lost weights, the captain let the drift take us off the rocky bottom where the fish were holding so no one even had a hit after that.

We were à smal gruop of people abord a nice ship. The captain and his deck boy were really friendly and informative. The rain was poring down, but there were rainjackets to use. We all caught fish, mainly cod which were fileid and put on the barbecue. It was delcious tasting togheter with fried potatos.

We were set up to go fishing on a Wednesday but the weather was not great so the tour operator called and emailed to let us know early enough in the day so no time was wasted. Didn't get to fish but the tour operators were great about getting you the info.

Helpful crew brilliant experience felt like a kid in a candy store! We were lucky with the weather and we caught good amounts of fish, we saw dolphins and wales and got to feast on our own catches. Everything was amazing from start to finish.
