We enjoyed our trip immensely. Takeshi was a very enthusiastic and positive tour guide- full of energy and ideas. We originally were planning the trip to be centered around Osaka, but we were also interested in visiting the Nara deer park nearby. Takeshi was very flexible and we ended up spending the first part of the tour at the Nara deer park. We enjoyed a nice lunch at the park, then Takeshi took us to Dotonburi where we saw the Glico man and enjoyed the busy sights and sounds of this epic food and entertainment center! Even though our tour was scheduled for 4 hours, Takeshi spent a significantly longer period of time with us! I tried to tip him after our tour was over to thank him for his service above and beyond, but he would have none of it. He thanked us for being such a nice group and felt as if he had made new friends. We were deeply touched by his helpfulness. We highly recommend Takeshi to any groups who may be looking for a great guide in Osaka!

Yama-san was great. Funny, well-informed, and a delight to travel with. We explored a Shinto shrine and a Buddhist temple and learned a lot and laughed a lot! We’d take another tour with him any day!

Sachiko was a fantastic guide! She was great with our kids and customized the tour as we went along based on our interests. She even helped set us up at a restaurant for lunch with local friends! She made getting around the city a breeze - we could never have moved so quickly through the many subway stops without her.

My father and I had a great time on this half-day walking tour of Osaka. Yuri was a fantastic guide — friendly, easy to talk to, and really knowledgeable. She did a great job explaining the history of Osaka Castle in a way that was interesting without being too heavy.
We also really enjoyed walking through Kuromon Market and Dotonbori. Yuri pointed out a lot of things we definitely would have missed on our own and gave us helpful context about the food and the different areas. The tour was well organized and moved at a comfortable pace without feeling rushed.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable and efficient way to see a lot of Osaka in a short time. I’d definitely recommend this tour, especially if you can get Yuri as your guide.

We took a private tour of the Osaka Castle and Shiennoji Temple with Yuji-san our guide. He was very knowledgeable and told explained the history and layout in details and kept us interested. Shared some interested facts about Japanese history. GLAD we did the tour privately as we were able to move around at out own pace. We finished ahead of time to he walked us to Tsuyunoten Temple a fund diversion... followed by a meal at an Izakaya in Umeda Osaka where most office worker have lunch.. and tried puffer fish. It was overall a fun experience.

Tanigawa Kaeko-san was a wonderful tour guide! She arrived early to meet us at our hotel, noticed that the view from our hotel lobby likely made going to Umeda Sky redundant, and made quick adjustments to make our walking tour more unique for our experience in Osaka. Having a government-licensed tour guide is absolutely a must if you’re going to the very crowded Osaka Castle, as having a guide allows you to skip the massive line and go directly up to purchase tickets for entry. Tanigawa-san gave us fantastic information about the history of Osaka and was so accommodating and attentive to our interests. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

I’m glad that you enjoyed Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine as well as Osaka Castle. You were able to enjoy the attractions such as lifting a heavy stone to predict your future. Fushimi Inari Shrine has the same attraction but people make a long line, and you can experience it much easier at Sumiyoshi.

Kuni, our guide was friendly, informative, knowledgeable and stayed with us past our allotted tour time, making sure we got to our final destination. Be prepared to do a lot of walking, including a lot of steps into and out of the subway system.

Fantastic tour with Machiao in very hot conditions.Caught a train from Kobe to meet with our guide in Osaka.Machiao is lovely and knows all the sights of Osaka.I would highly recommend her as a guide.

We had a wonderful tour around Osaka. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about the places we visited. He was also very friendly and approachable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Our guide was wonderful. She was happy to modify our agenda at the last minute (due to weather) and so thoughtful in doing so. In addition to her local and historical knowledge, she was adept at navigating public transit, making the most of our itinerary. Her sushi lunch spot recommendation was perfect. The day was just the right amount of touristy and non-touristy sites.

Very disappointed with our guide. He was not engaging at all…he walked very quickly through crowds and we had little time to enjoy our surroundings. He was not prepared and got lost on his way to our first stop..even with his Google maps out…not nice wandering in the heat with a nine year old. He had no conversation between stops and no real personal “information” or insights into where we were. We have had multiple private guided tours around the world…this was the most disappointing one we had. We know it’s hit and miss with who you get but our guide should not be assigned to any future family tours…I could have done the same tour myself but been a bit less rushed. We cut him loose a bit early so we could relax and not worry about losing sight of him as he rushed off

Ritual was a very nice young man who took us to the sites we planned to visit. We also asked him to take us to a "non-tourist" Japanese restaurant which was a wonderful experience and quite reasonable.

Romi was rude and unprofessional. She was fairly knowledgeable but her English wasn’t great. When we asked for clarification, she was very impatient and acted like WE were the ones with language issues. When we asked questions, she kept telling us she had already explained that earlier. She was eager to get done and despite telling her I had a knee injury, she made practically jog along. These private tours with government licensed guides are hit or miss. We had a bad one in Tokyo too but he was at least polite. The one in Kyoto was amazing. So do your research and read the reviews so don’t end up with someone like Rude Romi. Worst time ever!
