We had limited time in Osaka so we went for this 3hr walking tour and we could not be happier. We had an amazing tour guide known as J!! He made sure we seen everything we wanted to see and showed us around the Osaka Castle and the hidden jems in Dotonbori. We also got to try the street food. He was very kind, answered all our questions and taught us so much about the culture!! Definitely recommend this trip…

Beware - inadequate information provided and unhelpful staff.

The instructions for the meeting place were wholly inadequate - just an address but without a specified location e.g. outside Starbucks. We were 40 minutes early and had confirmation from 2 employees at the information office that we were in the right place but no one showed up. We made 4 phone calls to the tour operator support desk (eventually running out of £20 phone credit) who were most unhelpful and kept saying they’d message the location to us but wouldn’t give us the guides phone number. We had no WiFi signal. We subsequently received the messages 3 hours later when back with WiFi and it transpired that the guide was waiting about 20 yards away from where we had been standing. We had walked around that area but no one had any distinguishing sign displayed. The company were rude and unhelpful and we have suggested that in future, rather than just give a random address, they state an obvious location eg ‘outside Starbucks’. We were so stressed, upset and disappointed and they clearly didn’t care. We’ve done many such tours and never had this problem before.

The meeting point for this tour was clearly stated as “Lawson Osaka Castle Park Store” on your booking confirmation. In addition, on the day of the tour, we made multiple attempts to contact you not only via phone calls but also through the booking platform messages. As this is a group tour with multiple guests and pre-arranged restaurant reservations, we are unfortunately unable to delay the start time or wait for extended periods. This policy is clearly stated in advance, including that late arrivals may not be able to join the tour. We understand that not having WiFi may have made communication difficult, and we sincerely regret any stress this may have caused. However, please understand that we made every possible effort to reach you through all available channels and proceeded according to the scheduled operation of the tour. We appreciate your feedback regarding clearer meeting point instructions and will take it into consideration for future improvements. Thank you again for your understanding.

This was a great tour. Boo was awesome and gave us a lot of history and local perspectives. Nice walk through different areas of the city, a great intro to Osaka. I would recommend Boo as a tour guide and recommend this tpur.

Lunchtime Highlight

Booked based upon previous reviews & midday availability. Ben is friendly, energetic & has a solid understanding of English. He knew all the best picture locations during our temple tour, while also ensuring we experienced the few interactive opportunities. By far, the highlight was our visit to the pancake restaurant. This is a small husband & wife restaurant that we would have never found on our own. The experience here was worth the tour price alone. After this comfort food moment, Ben walked us through a park to one of the best takoyaki spots in town. Definitely recommend this tour, just know that you will need to pay additional to enter the temple & for the food/drinks at the restaurant, which includes the tour guides.
