We dont want history to repeat itself!

This is an intense experience to see, we have visited another location, but the exhibits in this one have lots of information. Our guide, had very detailed historical details and warned us about the photos in some exhibits as the Nazi propaganda made it look like the people sent there deserved to be imprisoned. Conditions were grave and zero expectation of leaving alive. Take a tour as there is so much information.

Wonderful Tour !

Great Tour! Although the history of Nazi Germany is heavy, this was a very informative excursion. And the view from Eagles Nest is ABSOLUTELY WORTH the drive! The restaurant at the first stop is much better compared to the one at Eagles Nest. Try their Pancake Soup & Goulash Soup! And definitely go to The “Dokumentation Center” and do the free audio guide tour. It’s built on top of Hitlers intricate “WW2 Bunkers” All the underground tunnels are still intact with inscriptions on the walls from soldiers. Francezka was a great tour guide. Bus is super comfy: air conditioned, IPhone Outlets & bathroom. We also went to Berchtesgaden which is a quiet little town. I travelled solo & loved it 😍

Well worth it!

Definitely get to see and cover more on a bike tour. Great intro. to Munich. Mike's friendly, professional staff are amazing. I got totally lost and was very late. So grateful to the office lady who kindly turned my diaster into a very positive experience. She organised a staff member to lead me to the tour that was already underway. Bob, tour leader, was welcoming & very infomative regarding Munich's past/present history. We were quite a large group, Bob taught bike lane protocol, crossing safety & guided us well along bike lanes & streets. Glad to have been able to do this excursion with Mikes Bike tours. Incredible! Dont miss!

This was one for the books! You would not want to miss taking advantage of this tour. From the beginning we were openly welcomed by friendly staff. Our tour guide Connie (im certain I spelled it wrong) was INCREDIBLE! She carefully guided us thru the metro and onto a bus to get to Dachau Concentration Camp. Once we got there, she did an amazing job explaining and describing each area. My favorite part were the personal quotes from survivors personal stories. She kept us on schedule to make sure we made it back on time. Her personal connection to Dachau made it even more special and shows that she truly enjoys sharing the true history behind Dachau. Our group received such expert and personal care from our amazing guide Faizan ,who really took the time to explain the history , logistics and all we needed to know for a successful visit . He made sure that we were well informed throughout and he took time to get to know everyone . We had a great day on our tour visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. The Castle is stunning! Well worth the additional admission fee to go inside! Charlie our tour guide was fantastic, so knowledgeable of the local area and knew all his history not just about the Castle and Munich but also about the Bavarian Royal family. We highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Charlie as your guide you are sure to be in for a history lesson too!

Amazing guide for an amazing city

Our guide, Leon, was a wonderful navigator and was also very knowledgeable regarding his beautiful city. We were only in the city for a few days and we finished our tour with a recommended list of places to eat and places to explore. I couldn’t recommend this activity enough, especially if you’re a history geek or just want to touch the surface of what Munich has to offer!

To the Top

Our tour started at karlsplatz at 10am. We stayed at europäischer Hof a 5 minute walk to the bus. Very easy to find. The bus was a little cramped for a 6’4 man but the 1.5hr trip to Zugspitez was smooth. The weather was beautiful 25C and clear at the bottom. 4C at the top. The gondola ride is an engineering marvel. There is only one tower for the entire ride. Once On the top the view is breathtaking. You can see the mountains in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and of course the German Alps. At the top you can have a classic German lunch and enjoy a beer while taking in the mountains. I would recommend checking out the souvenir shops at both the bottom and the top because they are very different. My son and I really enjoyed the trip and our guide Monika was very knowledgeable about the history of the region. We ran into traffic on the way back to Munich so I would Suggest bringing some water and a small snack. We arrived back to Munich on time. I would recommend this trip to everyone if you want to see the top of Deutschland.
