This was our favorite tour on our trip to Munich! Rich was incredibly knowledgeable about Munich and surrounding areas and most of all Beer! We learned so much and the hike to Andechs was beautiful. Andech’s with Beerwanderers - Best Day Trip from Munich!

Highly recommend this experience with Beerwanderers, this was one of the highlights of our trip to the Munich area! The owner and our guide Rich is personable and extremely knowledge about the region, beer and the Andech’s monestary/ brewery. Rich accompanies you on the train from Munich, making the trip easy. The hike up from Herrsching is beautiful, our group were all seasoned hikers, so we would rate the hike easy with a moderate grade for most of the climb. And the route is shaded by trees for the majority of the hike. Andech,’s is a very special place: the beer, food (butcher on site, so all the meat we had was extraordinary), setting, and ambiance make for a perfect lunch and rest. Ending the hike down with a beer on lake Ammersee was the perfect ending. In my opinion this is a must do experience for a visit to Munich. Prost!

It was a fun day with Rich. Andechs is a beautiful place. The hike to get there was very doable, even for a couple of of old folks. Rich was very knowledgeable of both the history of beer in Bavaria and of beer itself. And also not a bad thing that the beer in Andechs was excellent.

This was such a fun and unique way to learn about local food and beer culture and history, as well as to get a closer look at the beautiful Bavarian landscape. You go as fast or as slow as you need to - whatever is best for the group. The beer and food at Andechs were some of the best we had our whole week in Germany, and the pretzels for certain were THE BEST we had all week! Rich is so knowledgeable about all things beer, he's like beer-google! Because it was a small private tour, it didn't even *feel* like an official tour, it just felt like we were spending the day with our buddy who knows a lot about beer. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and can't wait to book his other beer hikes when we're back! 5++++++ stars!
