Tour guide (sorry forgot the name but the one born in the Philippines too) was genuinely friendly and accommodating. I love it that he started the tour by getting to know us and us getting to know the other participants as well. It was a small effort but truly shows how he wanted to connect with us and how he wanted us to have a really good experience. We didn’t feel rushed. We had maximised our time outside and inside the castle. The walking tour was also very informative. Definitely recommends Mike’s Bike Tours when you visit Munich!

We had a great time with the organized day trip to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Tyler was a great tour guide. He gave us all of the information needed on a timely manner. He explained the history in the right amount of detail.

Tyler was our guide and was very attentive, organized, and knowledgeable. The bus was comfortable overall, and was pretty full (December is a popular time to visit). It's important to be on time when your guide tells you what time to meet up again; we had to wait a bit to depart the site as some folks were quite late (Tyler had to reach out to them by phone).
The experience is well-planned, with a stop at Hohenschwangau first, where we explored that castle. At Neuschwanstein, we opted to take the shuttle (bring cash - I believe it was €3.50 each one-way up) up to the bridge viewpoint, which was quick and easy - we were lucky the bridge was open as we were told it is often closed in the winter. We're glad we took the shuttle too, as there is plenty of walking uphill from there and also within the castle.
After reading some reviews online about the castle being unfinished and not having that much to look at, we contemplated skipping going inside, but decided we might as well since we had come all this way. I'm really glad we did, as the inside guided tour was fantastic and the castle history was fascinating to hear and see (no photos allowed).
We also enjoyed the Christmas Market tour afterwards and Tyler took us to sites we might have otherwise missed on our own. We enjoyed hearing some interesting history about the area as well. The market tour is fairly fast-paced (~15 minutes at each market, remember to be on time) but you can always return on your own if you want to spend more time there after the tour.
Overall, this was a well-organized, informative, and enjoyable experience which we'd recommend to our friends and family.

Absolutely fantastic experience and a highlight of our Munich trip! The Neuschwanstein Castle plus Christmas Market tour was perfectly organized, with a super easy bus ride and prompt timing—10/10.

Very large group with mostly young participants. The group leader moved very quickly with only rare looks behind to see who was following. We broke off at the end since trying to follow a splintered group in a Christmas market was impossible.
The information on the bus was helpful and castle and environs were spectacular.

Whilst the operator of the tour was professional and had good knowledge of the history etc. The bus was clean and had a toilet on it.
There was complimentary wifi as well.
It was a whole day event. - drive took 1.5 to 2 hours to get there. we had very limited time for lunch. We the did a hike up quite a steep hill to get to some good views from a bridge.
The castle tour was like a commercial conveyor belt. enter at your designated time with your group. If your group is large, you can't fit all individuals in the smaller rooms so you wait outside the room. As there is a time pressure from oncoming groups you get moved quickly from one room to another. There is no time to ask questions (one of our group tried and got told to wait but didn't bother at the end). my husband got chased out of a room that we were leaving (as he wanted to look at the mosaic floor without people standing on it).
My kids were more excited by the icy snow on the street sides than the castle (8 & 5).
The Christmas market tour was rushed as well as it was 5-6ish when we were doing this.
The value of this isn't great. We come from Australia and the Aus dollar is not great but it cost us $573 aus without the tickets for the tour! had to buy these in cash on the bus. another 60 euros (I think it was 3.50euro for each kid). so a total of A$679 + tip.

Because the castle is a government-run site, they strictly dictate the "conveyor belt" timing and group flow. While this structure can feel impersonal, we want to mention that castle tickets were entirely sold out to the general public; our tour provided guaranteed access that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.
We appreciate your comments on the pricing and the Christmas market timing as we strive to improve our family experience. We hope that despite the pace, your family enjoyed the snowy views and the convenience of the trip.

Ziggy-guide and Nahim (sp?)-driver were wonderful hosts for a day out in the Bavarian countryside. After overhearing another tour group guides speaking to their group like they were children, I had an extra appreciation for how wonderfully informal, unstuffy and educational this tour was. The transfer bus was running to the bridge so I chose to take that over the mildly intense trek up, but I overheard Ziggy being the hype man for all the hikers who chose to get their sweat on.
The castle itself is a well oiled machine with its own guide and was interesting to see what the finished parts of the palace look like even if it's a fairly quick and dirty overview with no time to browse at your own pace (which has nothing to do with the bus tour). I'm glad I booked this tour instead of taking public transport on my own.

Make sure to check the weather. Wear appropriate shoes and warm coat etc. In the winter. There is alot of walking uphill involved.

This is a great tour. Tyler is an awesome host and very knowledgeable! Seeing the town and castles on the hills is beautiful. Seeing inside Neuschwanstein was incredible mixed with the history of the family. Tyler showed us the best view in Germany from the balcony of the castle. Bus ride was comfortable with drinks to purchase if wanted. Christmas market and city walk was also very interesting and fun- although the markets were crazy crowed on a December Saturday night. Tyler was great in directing us to food and things to see at each market. Great time and a perfect day trip. Thanks so much!

The castle is beautiful, especially in the winter. Quite an uphill walk but totally worth it. The quick tour around Munich was also very nice! Even though it was short, it was nice to know some fun facts about the city.

Our day trip to Neuchenstein Castle was perfect. We rode a very comfortable coach with Martin at the wheel. Our guide Ziggy was very funny and entertaining. The scenic drive to the castle was spectacular. We were fortunate to have a clear day and a light dusting of snow which enhanced the beautiful castle grounds. On our return trip home we made a brief stop in Oberammergua which was very pretty. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing experience with Tyler as our guide. The tour is very well organized and everything communicated very well. Initially we were unable to get tickets to enter the castle as they were sold out when we tried, but thankfully this tour reserves a bunch of tickets in advance that you can pay for on the day of your trip. This is very helpful because tickets sell out months in advance. Tyler our guide was really kind and provided us with lots of good information. He was very helpful and great to have on the day trip. We also really enjoyed the walk through the city/Christmas markets after. Overall, this is definitely worth the money!

Our tour guide Tyler was incredibly informative and gave us a lot of context of the castle and King Ludwig II. Highly recommend this tour. Our only issue was that we would have liked an extra hour at the castle but due to the days being short its understandable since we got back to Munich at around sunset. Overall, we highly recommend this tour especially to those who aren't staying at Munich for very long.

My daughter and I turned up at the meeting point and was met by our guide David. After checking us in David advised us where the nearest cash machine was and the nearest place to get something for breakfast and use of toilets, he told us what time to be back at the meeting point then he could carry out a head count and brief us on what the trip entails. Before going to the coach, we had a little wait as another couple that was booked on the trip had a problem in finding the meeting point, David was on his mobile a few times trying to explain where the meeting point was but unfortunately, they were heading in the wrong direct and ended up too far away to wait for them. We then walked to the coach which was only a minute or two away. The coach driver was friendly, and the coach was nice and clean and had toilet facilities. When enroute David told us a bit about himself and then went round us all to see where we had travelled from. David was knowledgeable and gave information on the different areas whilst on our way to Neuschwanstein Castle. Once we arrived at the castle David was very clear on the meeting points and times, he also put on a pink hat, so he was noticeable in a crowd. Before going up to the castle we had time to take some photos and look around the gift shops we also had a bite to eat. My daughter and I enjoyed the castle, it was a hike getting up there, but it was worth it, you could book to go on a horse and carriage but there is a waiting time, possibly 30 mins or so. In the castle you were given a listening device so you could hear the castles tour operator and lots more steps to go up… again, worth it. On leaving the Castle we both headed down the hill to have one last look around the shops before going back to the nice warm coach then headed back to Munich where we left the coach. David and those who wanted to look around the Christmas Markets headed off to the Markets and whilst on route David pointed out different buildings of interest and added a bit of history regarding them, Joanne and I really liked the Theatine Church, very beautiful inside. We enjoyed looking around the Markets, there was a lovely atmosphere, and they were very busy, thank God for Davids pink hat…hahaha
We really enjoyed the trip, it was excellent, we would really recommend it, David also made it a very enjoyable and an informative experience.

Bring cash for tipping (deserved) and also for vendors at neuschwanstein village.
Bring your own food and drink if you want it cheaper still although they do sell reasonably priced drinks on the bus
