There were a lot more...

There were a lot more people on the trip than we expected but we arrived in good time so were able to get near the front of the queue which meant we had a good seat. Everyone did get seated but some seats were in the sun and some sideways rather than forward facing. The staff gave good commentary and information about the dolphins we saw. There was a chance to swim with proper stairs to enter the sea rather than a ladder. Toilets and snacks on board were an added bonus!

what I loved about this tour was the energy of the guides! And the animals ofc haha We did not see whales, but we saw different species of dophins very close to us. The captain Andre took us also to check the Garaju bay and did his best to make us see the dophins. The guide Francisca had a lovely energy! She gave us very interesting information about the animals and looked so passionated about the her work that was impossible to not transmit her happiness I would definitely come back!

This was a brilliant introduction to the landscapes, culture, and history of Madeira. Our guide João was fantastic and made sure everyone in the group felt included. If you only have time to do one tour I would recommend the east side of the island as the views from some of the stops are absolutely breathtaking but do both days if you can!

We had an amazing day exploring the west of Madeira with Miguel! He was right on time, incredibly kind, funny, and an absolute gem. His knowledge of the island is truly impressive; he taught us so much about Madeira’s history, local traditions and beliefs, nature, and even how to tell the different types of eucalyptus apart! He took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure everyone was engaged. What we appreciated even more was that he slightly adapted the itinerary because we had already visited a couple of the planned stops. Instead of sticking rigidly to the schedule, he wanted to make sure we got the very best out of our day, which we really appreciated.
