Great Intro to Edinburgh History

Great introduction to Scottish history. Our guide Mark (“Irish Mark”) was extremely knowledgeable and brought the stories along the Royal Mile to life without it feeling like a lecture. He did a great job connecting key figures like Mary, Queen of Scots to the actual locations, which made it much more engaging. The pacing was comfortable, and finishing at Edinburgh Castle really tied everything together. A great 2-hour overview—highly recommend.

Our tour guide Graham was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on our castle tour. Whilst the tour was only 90 minutes we learned a great deal about the various castle areas, then on completion of the tour we were able to spend more time looking around the many different parts of the castle.

Great showcase of St Andrew’s and Fife

An excellent tour with Ally P! A great showcase of the Kingdom of Fife with endless local knowledge and stories. Multiple stops at notable locations with the main stop in St. Andrew. Ally took the time to show us the town prior to drop off so we knew where the main interest points were and even provided the option to get dropped off centrally or closer to the golf course. The golf course was welcoming to spectators and allowed walking on thru ways and photos on the course that don’t disrupt the players. All our stops had pay for use bathrooms (tap and coin) recommendation to pack snacks - you won’t want to spend your time getting food on your stops! Our drive back included some Scottish music references (Ally you’d host a great radio show!) we recommend this tour as a great day trip from the city!

Beautiful Highlands and Fun Day

We had so much fun on this tour. The highlands were absolutely stunning and our driver was very informative. We were a little frustrated since everywhere we stopped it was super busy and hard to find bathrooms and eat with such long lines on a timed schedule. Our diver let us eat on the bus and made sure we were alll okay before we left. Even with the busy stops we still had so much fun and would recommend the tour to anyone! The boat ride on Loch Ness was also really cool!

Convenient must-do to see the Scottish Highlands!

Sincerely enjoyed our full day tour with Stephen on Hairy Coo Tours! He provided great, very informative history throughout the tour and helped fill up the time while we were on the road. The stops were beautiful and such a lovely way to see the Highlands; I think it's also very convenient coming from Edinburgh. While there's a lot of time spent on the bus, the trip and scenery is all beautiful and I think worth it - definitely recommend!

Really informative. Our guide Stewart was very engaging and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about history of this area. The tour itself is Very dark and enclosed. There is a lot of mold. This might trigger people with anxiety or extrinsic asthma. He was very accommodating and asked about medical conditions.

Wonderful and Magical Experience

Our guide Hazel was absolutely stunning. She was a load of information that made us feel like we were there with JK Rowling and the creation of Harry Potter. She showed us so many wonderful things that made me feel like I was a part of Harry Potter and how the movie was inspired by so many things in Edinburgh. She also played games throughout to make you think about parts of the movie and she even talked about history of Edinburgh and how it tied into the Harry Potter story. This was one of the best tours I have been on and I highly recommend it. Great job Hazel!!
