The tour with Jess was brilliant and lovely. we really enjoyed it as you feel your listening to a stroy or watching a movie not just listening to historical facts.

Lots of History, Matthew was great! Lots of standing due to the crowds that day there was no way to walk and talk. Not many places to rest/ sit during the tour for 1.5 hrs.

Great and funny tourguide, who had great knowledge about scottish history. Would definitly recommend.

Very enjoyable and friendly visit to Edinburgh Castle with Luigi. Many fascinating stories that really brought history to life. Highly recommend!

We went over some history and highlights of the castle. Our castle entry tickets were bought for us in advance which was nice, but quite honestly it was very boring and I wanted to stray from the group cause I wasn't being, for a lack of a better work, stimulated by the conversation by Ben.

Great guide. Can’t remember the name, but he’s the chap with blonde hairstreaks and use to be a dancer.
He brought information, related personal stories and life to his guide.

Really good our tour guide Sonia was very knowledgeable and witty too, would recommend wearing trainers or comfortable shoes as there’s some slopey areas and steep steps.
Natalie_H, Jul 2026
Matt used his considerable acting credentials to tell us a lot about history of Scotland and the Castle. Hard to do with so many July crowds all around. Thanks Matt!

Sonia was an excellent guide who is well versed with the history of the castle. The blend of history and humour made the tour riveting

Max was a fantastic guide and storyteller!!

We have done a lot of audio tours, but decided to go with this for Edinburgh Castle. We really enjoyed it! We learned a lot about the castle’s history and our tour guide Steph was very conversational and funny.

The tour was good and the tour Guide really kept us entertained however the check-in process was very chaotic and the staff at that point we're pretty unfriendly and rude
The tour was meant to start at 2 pm and they started seven minutes early and did not care when you said that the tour is meant to start at two. Once the tour got going, the Guide and the Experience was good but I would recommend the staff at initial point of contact could improve their customer service.

Great way to see and learn about the Edinburgh Castle!
The area was crowded and Max made sure that our group stayed close together so that we could hear his information and clever anecdotes.
Elene_W, Jul 2026
Georgia was an interesting and well informed guide, as well as friendly, smiling and passionate about the castle’s history.
I would advise people to wear plenty of sun block, water and perhaps a hat, as much of the tour takes place in direct sunlight.
Richard_L, Jul 2026
A lot of the history of not only the castle, but of Scotland as well. Graeme offered an in-depth historical background. Well worth the time spent on tour, and the information provided made understanding the workings of the castle much clearer.

It was very cold . Keep your self well layered. The tour is for over 90 mins. Dont miss the crown jewels and also the eagle of the 45.
Plenty to eat and drink up in the castle. Rest rooms are also there.

Absolutely amazing, she was a very lovely person and it was clear she had been doing tours for years. She made everyone feel welcome and spent time asking where we all are from. Would definitely recommend booking one of these tours and I would happily book again.

Fun and fascinating tour of Edinburgh castle with a highly entertaining guide who led us through history with a healthy slice of good cheer. Highly recommend!
Susan_J, Jul 2026
Kristel was fun, engaging and very knowledgeable. A very enjoyable tour. The castle was very crowded but she kept us well informed on all parts of the castle and grounds and gave her recommendations as to where to explore more (and where the best kept secret toilets were!!)
Jerry_K, Jul 2026
Greg was knowledgeable, friendly and a lot of fun. Great tour! Saw and learned a lot and had fun. Highly recommend.
Maria_V, Jul 2026
We met at a certain poin along the Royal Mile. They where organized and prepared. Max our guide explained everything and the tour was great, full of details, historic information and since they can not guide you in any of the exhubition areas he gave us great tips for when we went in. I have done the audio guide provided at the castle and this guided tour and I truly have to say this guided tour was much more informative, more enyertaining. Totally worth it. He even recomended a delicios soup called Cullen Skink we tried it out and it was delightful. Great experience would recomend it for anyone, great for families.
Richard_I, Jul 2026
Tour was good, but the guide was not super knowledgeable and he took a lot of time at the beginning of the tour introducing himself and having each person on the tour introduce themselves.
Katie_L, Jul 2026
Greg was the absolute best!!! We truly believe our experience wouldn’t have been the same without him and his incredible storytelling. He was very good with the kids on our tour and made each story entertaining while also speaking at a volume easy to hear but not overpowering. Overall I enjoyed the tour but I have to say that Greg made it memorable for us. Highly recommend!
Eric_S, Jul 2026
A few stairs that are a bit of a climb but other than that great fun. Information given in the head phones is just the right amount for depth and moving things along. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Susan_C, Jul 2026
We had a wonderful tour experience with Jessica! She is very knowledgeable of the history of the castle and she is a great story teller. The tour was interesting and informative. I feel that trying to do the tour on our own would have left us walking around looking at buildings without a true understanding of what the castle truly is.
Raelene_W, Jul 2026
Your views of the castle from outside are spoilt over the summer months while the seating platforms are built for the Royal Tattoo
Sheree_S, Jul 2026
Our guide was stellar! She was hilarious, informative and very engaging. Her take on Scottish and English history from a Polish perspective was funny and on point. This was a great tour!
Vincent_P, Jul 2026
Max was very passionate and knowledgeable about the castle and Scotland in general. It is a bit of a hike, but worth it...
