Great insight into Edinburgh Castle the tour Guide and Co Guide "Seren" was very friendly and very knowledgeable on all things Edinburgh Castle she explained greatly about its history and was very nice to chat too.
Have more clear instructions on the meeting point! There is no Loch Ness Discovery center so using Cafe Nero would be helpful. Also using a marker so we can see the tour guide would help.
Great way to learn more about Scottish history. It’s awesome being up on the top of the volcano and seeing the castle and the sights from waaay up there.
Matthew was an awesome tour guide! We throughly enjoyed every minute of it. His knowledge of Scotland was amazing!
Steph was an excellent guide making the historic facts come alive with references to popular culture and humour which inspired many belly laughs. The tour was at a manageable pace (even for the not so fit). Colourful descriptions tempered some of the serious events. Outstanding experience and a morning well spent learning about the rich history of the Edinburgh castle and surrounds.
It was very exciting to get the tour from Edinburghs very own Ryan Gosling, (Matthew). He was excellent.
Matthew was a fantastic guide and I’d highly recommend for others. The castle and its history are pretty cool!
Loved getting to go inside and walk around the castle grounds! Our guide, Koffe, was great! He loved history and was a great storyteller of it! We went in early/mid September, so the stadium that they put up every year for the month of August was still in the process of being taken down. So, some of the views around at the entrance were obstructed which was a bummer. But overall it was great to see and hear about the history of this beautiful castle!
Very informative! Our guide not only knew the history, but she had the inside scoop! My husband wished we had more time to explore the individual buildings. Perhaps an earlier tour would have been better for us.
My husband and I had such an enjoyable experience with our tour guide, Campbell! He was very funny and informative.
A tour of Edinburgh Castle. We walked from the Royal Mike to the top of the castle with Matt our guide
Georgia and her daughter were stars! I learned so much about the castle and Scotland's rich history.
Use the guide for more information, better than going solo. There will be time at the end to explore on your own.
Euan was a great guid.w He was engaging and entertaining, while providing interesting history
. He kept the tour moving at a great pace.
The group was very large (27 people) with 1 guide and outside the whole time (we thought the tour would take place inside the castle as well). The guide mostly focused on wars and weapons. Perhaps it was our mistake not to do our due dilligence as we expected more royal history to be included. All in all it did not match our expectations but many americans in our group seemed to enjoy it! So perhaps a matter of preference.
Our tour guide was amazing & the castle was very impressive. If you can get a specific tour guide ask for Mathew!
Great experience! Big G was absolutely great ! Funny and interesting
You should know that the guid does not accompany you throughout the castle, he just presents some historical facts and after he tells you what he has/whant to, he leaves and you visit the museums alone
Very nice tour guide. I got to learn so much about the castle and his relation to some of the people who either stormed the castle or fought to protect the castle
We had a wonderful tour. Our tour guide Max was very friendly and made sure we remained engaged and informed about everything in the castle. We got a bit late to get there but they kindly waited for us. The castle itself is also very beautiful with breathtaking views of the city
Entertaining. Interesting. Informative. Nice pace. Stories to make the history come alive. Euan was delightful!
We had a great time listening to our guide, Ben. He was well informed, taught with enthusiasm and obviously loved his subject. After the tour we stayed for hours exploring the various museums and sights. A good cafe provides food to keep going.
Informational and packed with historical facts.
Our guide Koffe was very knowledgeable , he included drama with facts.!
Joffe was informative and entertaining. Highly recommend this tour through this fascinating castle..
I enjoyed the tour very much. Koffe was wonderful tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, and professional. Thank you!
Very busy tour and noisy. The guide was difficult to hear. We left the group after an hour and saw the castle on our own.
The tour was organized extremely well. As Canadians, we had to track down the Adam Smith monument but a very helpful Police Officer pointed us in the right direction. Stephanie was above and beyond clear, concise, entertaining and informative in her explanation of how the tour was going to unfold. Stephanie was very open to questions and filled the group in on historical facts prior to embarking up the Royal Mile and during our walk up the Royal Mile. Even in the congestion of all the people on different tours and individual sight seers, Stephanie excelled at keeping the group together and giving people enough time to stay engaged with the tour. At this point, I have to say that Stephanie’s bio is very accurate with her performance skills showing themselves at every turn. The Castle tour itself is demanding but doable for a 70 yr old that is not in the best of shape. The tour does climb steadily upward and you have to be prepared for wind, (hold on to your Hat), but Stephanie took the time to ensure all could hear her involved revelations of the history of the Edinburg Castle and the Clans who fought to hold on to their heritage. All in all, a spectacular tour. You won’t be disappointed.
Koffee was a great tour guide. Very engaging and good humor, not your boring tour guide. Would highly recommend!
Great overview of the history and castle lore. Moved us along through the highlights. Efficient entry.
Koffe was super knowledgeable of all things castle!! Very interesting and informative. The tour was fun and easy to find.
Very informative and funny. Just the right pace for all ages and walking abilities. Our travel guide was fabulous… would recommend this tour.
