Upon arrival at Edinburgh Castle, use your prebooked ticket to enter. Your guide leads you around the sprawling grounds and provides more details about such notable features as the castle dungeons and Crown Jewels, as well as what to look out for inside.

- Although much of the tour is done inside the castle complex, this will not be under cover.
- Bags over 30L in volume are not permitted inside the castle and the castle does not provide a locker system for the storage of luggage.

- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- Please Note - Children, aged 15 and under, will not be able to join the tour unless accompanied by a responsible adult
- Edinburgh Castle is built on top of the core of an old volcano, the ground is often uneven and at times steep. Be prepared to be on your feet for the full duration of the tour. People with mobility issues may not get the most from this tour.

Edinburgh Castle was closed that day - disappointed. Discription does tell you the day of week when they close and they should tell you. My main reason for tour was the Castle which we were able to look at through distant gates.
Great tour! Steph was so engaging, witty, and funny, telling stories about Scottish history, Edinburgh castle, and everything relevant in between. She kept the group close and spoke loudly, ensuring everyone could hear and stay engaged.
Having visited 61 countries this tour was one of my top 5. Our guide Steph was FABULOUS..th absolute "best of the best".... bright, knowledgeable, engaging, funny and passionate. I highly recommend this tour ... it was the best one I`ve had in years!

There were about twenty of us in the group - I think I was the only British one ! Our guide Steph guided us through the throngs of people on the Royal Mile with her umbrella held high - you certainly saw why something like that was needed, I'd have been totally lost otherwise and as it was I found it difficult to keep up. But the pace calmed down, and it wasn't quite so crowded, once we got inside the Castle grounds. Steph was a mine of information on the history and buildings of the Castle, and there was plenty of humour in her stories as well as the grimmer side of things. She also had hints to give on the most interesting , and the not so good, places to visit, both within the Castle and around the city more generally.
Good informative tour. Max was engaging and good at projecting his voice and storytelling. The walks were not long at all either so it’s a fairly easy tour

This is a great tour when the historical narrative is included. Koffe was exceptional at framing the history with the experience. He was the best narrator for a tour I have taken. I felt like I received 1,000 years of history in 90 minutes in a well-spoken, clear and exciting story. I would highly recommend this tour and an excellent tour guide like Koffe.

Royal mile was quite crowded when we first arrived but the guide did an excellent job keeping us together from the time we life the statue to arriving at the castle. Informative and entertaining personality of our guide

Our guided tour provided tons of history and information that enriched our visit of Edinburgh Castle. We would have missed out on so much if we simply decided to do a self-guided tour instead. Our tour guide Matthew was knowledgable, animated and presented the castle's history in a meaningful way - great job!! The wind at the top of the hill can be relentless, dress warmly and wear waterproof gear. We did the 10 am tour and warmed up in a pub afterward with a nice bowl of soup and a glass of wine.
We had Jessica as our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable on the history of the castle and was very interesting to listen to!
Great insight into Edinburgh Castle the tour Guide and Co Guide "Seren" was very friendly and very knowledgeable on all things Edinburgh Castle she explained greatly about its history and was very nice to chat too.
Have more clear instructions on the meeting point! There is no Loch Ness Discovery center so using Cafe Nero would be helpful. Also using a marker so we can see the tour guide would help.
Great way to learn more about Scottish history. It’s awesome being up on the top of the volcano and seeing the castle and the sights from waaay up there.

Steph was an excellent guide making the historic facts come alive with references to popular culture and humour which inspired many belly laughs. The tour was at a manageable pace (even for the not so fit). Colourful descriptions tempered some of the serious events. Outstanding experience and a morning well spent learning about the rich history of the Edinburgh castle and surrounds.
It was very exciting to get the tour from Edinburghs very own Ryan Gosling, (Matthew). He was excellent.
