This was like a horrible histories tour - lots of gory stories. It was fun going to see some underground passages that may or may not be haunted, and it was fun to learn about some of the dark history of the city through storytelling. My 7 year old was NOT happy underground and had to dig deep to find the courage to stay. The guide was fab at making him feel better and definitely took his discomfort into account while continuing to make the tour fun and engaging for everyone else.

Our guide was very funny, told a lot of hidden stories of Edinburg and made some jokes with the quests too. We loved it and made us feel very cheerful.

good tour well worth doing and everyday is a school day, our guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable got into character got us all laughing and interacting but in a relaxed way not a pushy way. Definitely worth doing if you want something different to add to your trip to Edinburgh. We don’t get s… faced, and you will learn about that saying !! 🤣🤣 Thank you. X

Queen Mary was an entertaining ghost but needs more polishing on her delivery. She engaged us and our 10 year old child, and toned down some stories for age appropriate language. Still an Edinburgh tour lead by a ghost so it's not without its darker elements.
Spots are narrow and cramped at times.

What a huge disappointment. Mary (FOREIGN) Queen of Scots, was very nice. That's the only reason this tour got any stars. It's was only one hour, we were taken to, two rooms and part of a corridor underground. Then back to the street for a brief explanation. That poor lady, she needs more training, a better quality tour to offer tourists. She could not keep her group. 2 ladies were left behind, 2 more struggled to keep up pace with her. Worst tour I have ever taken.

We took the 1:15 tour. Very suitable for young children. Lots of fun, dark rooms, be sure to be steady on your feet, he walked fast and the stairs to the vaults are spiral. Good stories, my adult kids in their 20's like it as well.

The tour guide, the Red Witch, was very engaging. Be aware though: there is some swearing, stairs, and small/claustrophobic spaces!! Otherwise, it’s a neat way to get a brief history on some of Edinburgh.

Agnes the Witch was an excellent guide. Gory tales in the Old Town followed by spooky times underground (plus ghost feet captured on camera 😱). Highly recommended, enjoyable hour.

Me and my daughter had a fantastic tour with our guide Agnes the witch.
She was entertaining with the dark stories of Edinburgh and its vaults. Would recommend anyone to go on a tour, great fun!💥💥

Unfortunately I cannot give a review because when we arrived for the tour we found out that Viator had not informed Edinburgh Tours that we had bought tickets and that the tour was full so therefore we did not get to go.
