Roger gave an amazing experience! He was engaging and told facts and stories not just about Harry Potter but about the city history as well. He also did a Harry Potter quiz and split everyone up into houses and we competed against each other! Highly recommend!

Really interesting with a lot of interesting facts about the whole story about different characters and the history of the development of Harry Potter

Harrison was our English guide. He was fun and entertaining with great stories. Bring a raincoat and water bottle. We didn’t stop anywhere to use the toilet during the walk.

Frank was great! And even though we did part of it in a rain storm, he made it so much fun! I loved how we were put into houses and had to "compete".

This was a fun tour for serious Harry Potter fans who can’t get enough of HP and Rowling lore. It doesn’t quite feel like you’ve been transported to Hogwarts, but you’ll learn interesting facts about how the series was written.

Jenny was wonderful and so knowledgeable. She made the experience fun, whimsical and educational. As a big fan of Harry Potter, she taught me a deeper level while showing the locations around Edinburgh. As a solo traveller, she made me feel comfortable during the experience. Thanks Jenny!!

Great for Potterphiles and a nice introduction to Edinburgh city center. We went as a family and had a great time. Our guide Harrison was engaging. Really helpful with giving the
Tips on more of Edinburgh. We enjoyed getting sorted via the sorting hats and having trivia questions throughout the tour. You could really tell the hard core Potter fans from the rest!

Great fun. Knowledgeable guide. Harrison was well versed in potter trivia and made the day fun with a house competition.

We booked as a Harry Potter tour but also got lots of valuable information about Edinburgh! Tour guide was great - would highly recommend.

Our tour guide Kieran was an extraordinary leader of this magical tour! He navigated our group through the busy streets of Edinburgh with ease, charm, and clarity. His joy, humor and knowledge made for an enchanting tour. I wish we’d taken this tour earlier in our trip as it was full of history and information.
While the tour is long, there are many punctuated stops, so it does not feel laborious; and Kieran was so entertaining and genuine that it flew by. Highly recommend! Great for all ages!

A pleasant easy walking tour. It’s not just about Harry Potter, but Kieran included the background of JK Rawlings and the history of Edinburgh. Be ready for some trivia and fun competition.

We absolutely enjoyed this tour with our children as well as answering a few of the quiz questions. Our tour guide Robbie was very entertaining, even theatrical, and provided lots of interesting background knowledge.
David_K, Jul 2026
It was okay. Seemed a bit disorganized and the tour guide wasn't a native English speaker for an English language tour. While he did okay. There were times it was challenging to understand. It was challenging to hear at times.
Robyn_B, Jul 2026
Kieran was lovely, knowledgable, and wonderful with kids! Highly recommend! The quizzes were very fun too!
Renell_F, Jul 2026
This was a wonderful tour. Josh was our tour guide and he was amazing. Although there was a lot of walking we barely noticed how far we had gone by the end of the two hours. We stopped to hear rich history which brought JK Rowling’s background and the Harry Potter books to life. Even if you didn’t know much about the books or movies by the end you saw amazing landmarks and history of Edinburgh. I highly recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic tour and a must for any Harry Potter fan visiting Edinburgh.
Our guide was excellent—engaging, knowledgeable, and full of interesting stories that brought both the city and the books to life. Although the Harry Potter films were not actually filmed in Edinburgh, it was fascinating to learn how much of the wizarding world was inspired by J.K. Rowling’s time living and writing here.
We visited several places connected to the books, including Greyfriars Kirkyard, where many believe Rowling found inspiration for some character names, and Victoria Street, the colorful street widely thought to have inspired Diagon Alley. We also saw other locations where Rowling spent time writing and learned how different parts of Edinburgh may have influenced the world of Harry Potter.
The tour was fun, informative, and a great mix of literary history and local history. Even if you’re already a Harry Potter fan, you’ll come away with plenty of new stories and insights. Highly recommended!

Kieran was an excellent guide. He somehow reached everyone with so much fun info about Harry Potter and his creation. He appealed to kids, adults, and Harry Potter enthusiasts! Great tour!!!
Tracey_B, Jul 2026
Goes through the locations around Edinburgh that JK Rowling took inspiration from, plus some other wonderful facts regarding the city. We initially thought it was film locations but weren’t disappointed by the guide and their knowledge. Kieran was our guide and he was great. Also had so much fun with the Harry Potter trivia and getting sorted into teams.
KATARINA_M, Jul 2026
Jenny was a great host, knew a lot about the books, JK Rowling's life and Edinburgh. However, we noticed that we zigzaged a bit and think the route could be more "round". Otjerwise, a good experience.
Phillip_R, Jul 2026
This was our favorite tour we went on in Edinburgh. Everyone on our tour enjoyed it regardless of age or background. It ties real historical facts to how some characters and/or situation from the Harry Potter movies. Our guide also make a game involving all 4 HP Houses, it added to the fun and made everything more interesting.

Robbie was a great tour guide and gave a great tour!!
It was awesome seeing Edinburgh in the lense of the Wizarding World
Patricia_B, Jul 2026
Kieran was fantastic! He made the tour super fun, put each of us into one of the houses at Hogwarts and created a little competition. So fun (even though it was raining/cold)! Highly recommend a tour with Kieran.

My family of 5 had so much fun on this tour. My 3 sons aged 17, 19 and 22, were not very excited to be going on a “Harry Potter tour”. Although they loved the books and movies when they were younger, they thought they were “too old” to do this tour and they were grumbling about it all the way to the meeting point. However, once it got started, they loved it! Robbie was fantastic! He made the tour so fun and interactive. There is a lot of great information about Edinburgh and the “Triwizard tournament” was a blast!
