- Tour will be inside the castle walls, but outdoors, with free time after the tour to to explore the castle an to go inside every building (Museums, Royal Palace, prisons, and much more). We can not access those buildings during the tour, but the tour will still be carried out within the castle grounds.
- The castle is a complex of buildings, not a single building.
- On this tour you will be guided around Edinburgh castle, with specific stops assigned by the castle authorities.
- Bags over 30L in volume are not allawed inside the castle.

Folks with slight balance problems.... sigh... standing on uneven pavement stones on hillsides while the guide talks and talks was too much for me and several others.

This was an action packed, TONS of walking/stairs, most amazing tour ever!!!
So informative and interesting history of not only the castle but of Edinburgh and Scotland. Would highly recommend it!
One thing though- our 88 year old father who is in great health was worn out by the number of stairs.
The biggest highlight other than the one o'clock cannon and Crown Jewels? GLEN!! Our tour guide was phenomenal, he was witty, patient with our father and super knowledgeable!!! He made the tour extra special!!

Lots of great stories and history about the castle and all its many spaces. Fabulous guide who kept us entertained the whole time. She knew exactly where to take us for all the great views. Really enjoyed it all. One thing to note, you get all the time you want inside the castle!

This was a great experience. The castle gives a great view and our tour guide was really knowledgeable. I believe his name was Ignas. (Sorry. I may have spelled that incorrectly.)

Easy to locate meeting location. Our guide started the tour near St. Giles and then walked us through the outside of the Edinburgh castle. Be prepared for a decent amount of walking, standing, and crowds. Our guide was extremely soft spoken, which made it very difficult to hear him when other tour guides were talking right besides ours as we walked around the castle. Wish we had a bit more time during the tour to stop and take quick photos as the castle was quickly getting busy as our tour ended.

Interesting history. Our tour guide, Ignas, was very knowledgeable and answered our questions. The tour does not take you inside the various buildings, just inside the actual castle. Then you are free to walk around on your own. Recommend it.

Our tour guide Charlie was amazing! He knew so much about the city and was so friendly! We had a few older people in our tour and he made sure to go slow so they could keep up. It was a lot of uphill walking but well worth it!

Great tour! Would recommend. Tour leader Glen did a great job. Sometimes hard to hear depending on where we were as Edinburgh was busy with tourists so it was loud at times. If the tour guide had some form of a mic this would go a long way!

Tour guide was knowledgeable however, didn’t keep the tour moving. I believe he took too much time explaining the answers to questions and at times repeated himself. Brief answers would have been more appropriate and given us more time to see the grounds.

Our tour with our guide was excellent. History mixed with roleplay for times of old storming the Castle. I’d highly recommend this for anyone interested in touring the castle if you’re interested in the history of the site as well.
