Departure point: Free picking up service from your city hotel or residence in Chengdu (all hotels within 3rd Ring Road), if you stay outside the 3rd Ring Road, then need to be picked up at the main gate of Wuhouci, or please contact us in advance to arrange to be picked up from your hotel or airport and pay extra cost to driver. Return point: Returns to original departure point or can be drop-off at the city center.
Itinerary
Depart from your Chengdu hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and enjoy the scenic surroundings on the way to either Dujiangyan Giant Panda Center or Chengdu Panda breeding Center. Greet your expert guide at one of the non-profit research and breeding facilities and embark on a guided tour of your selected center.
Gain fascinating insight into the progression of baby pandas to adult pandas and admire the delicate newborns in a special infant panda area. Perry was an awesome guide! We got picked up right on time. Driver was courteous and professional. Having Perry with us, we were able to navigate quickly through the Panda Villas and see the giant pandas, red pandas, and the babies!!! We went quickly but saw them all close up and while active in the morning which was a huge treat! Perry also guided us to a quiet cafe for a snack and latte with panda art. Very fun. Highly recommend!

The pandas did not disappoint! And our guide Perry was wonderful throughout. He met us at the hotel and spent the day with us during the tour where he was very knowledgeable about each of the pandas. He even accompanied us back into the city center after the tour to help us find a specialty store for a lens that we needed for my girlfriend’s camera. Thank you again Perry!!!

No real plus for this activity besides the comfortable transfer. My young guide was nice and helpful but was lacking experience and couldn’t offer much added value to the tour.

The 7:30 start was essential and William out guide was prompt and shocked us to straight to the panda centre. He astutely recommended we catch the visitors tram (30 yuan per person for all day use) so we got to the newer section of the park well before any of the crowds. We began at the Red Panda habitat and saw several running and climbing around. Over the course of the next 3 hours we worked out way back and saw multiple pandas, pairs and groups eating and playing. There were very few visitors around so it was tranquil - on a Monday morning. It was great how William answered all our questions and obviously knew the quirks and habits of the pandas - especially those at the nursery. After we had seen all points of interest William not only recommended a local restaurant, he took us to it (upstairs in a local shopping centre), asked the waitress to ensure we could be seated but also wrote down the names of dishes in Chinese. Truly he went above and beyond and as a result we had a lovely time.

Definitely a worthwhile tour, my guide Perry was very knowledgeable, lovely, polite and extremely patient with me as I have COPD so it’s very slow going for me. He would also make sure I got good spots for seeing the pandas 😊 highly recommend it

The Panda centre is definitely worth going to see but not with Viator. Save your money. For those 60 or over you get free entry but Viator charge everyone the same price £45-£90 .Taxis or public transport is cheap. Viator charged me £90 for this trip and would cost less than £10 return fare in a taxi and £4.50 entry for those inder 60 , over 60 free entry. Beware!!! In addition the tour guide left me stranded /lost and one of my group had to come find me as he did not check that he had all his guests before leaving the Panda house. A rather frightening experience.

1. Private Tour vs. Public Transport:
A private tour is a premium service that cannot be compared to the cost of a taxi. Our fee covers not just transportation, and the convenience of door-to-door service including English speaking guide, air-conditioning bus, Like any professional service, the price reflects the expertise and "worry-free" experience we provide, which is fundamentally different from a basic taxi ride or navigating public transport independently.
2. Responsibility and Group Coordination:
Although you are a group, but book the tour separately by your own and seems not familiar with each other, don’t know who is organizer ( tour leader), it appeared the group members were moving independently, however, we take your comment seriously and have reminded our guide to be even more proactive in headcount management, regardless of the group's internal dynamics.
Our pricing and service terms are transparently listed. We are sorry that you felt the value did not meet your personal expectations, even one of your group member cancel the booking at last minute and request a refund, of course not possible, but we stand by the quality and professionalism our team provides.

In the afternoon on hot days you will see very few pandas. We saw 3 lots and some red pandas but no babies as too hot. This should be made clear
If you are over 60 you can get in the panda centre for free.

We are surprised to see this review, as we provided morning and afternoon tour, we always recommend people better go in the morning, but due to different reasons, there are people like you choose to go for afternoon tour. I understand you want to go together with other members of your group.
As a travel agency, we can arrange the best logistics, but we cannot control the natural biological habits of animals. It is unfair to blame the agency for a situation caused by your own scheduling choice.
We can manage your itinerary, but we cannot control the weather, Blaming us for the temperature is as illogical as blaming us for the rotation of the earth."

An excellent experience and a must do in Chengdu. My guide Perry was super courteous and knew not only about pandas in general, but also had commentary about individual pandas in the center. He also gave me a great recommendation for what to eat in Chengdu and have some super detailed info on Wuhouci. Count me happy.

Cindy was my guide and she was great! There are a TON of people even in off season so be prepared to get pushed around. Cindy was great at getting me good spots to see the pandas. She was knowledgeable about them as well. It mostly takes half a day because the venue is far. Be ready to walk a lot to all the different panda areas. You could stay all day there if you wanted, but half a day was plenty. You wouldn’t see anything new by spending more time there

Jason was an awesome tour guide to see the pandas! I was unsure if seeing pandas over and over and over in a zoo would be fun, but…I was wrong. This was a blast. And Jason provided transportation from the hotel, brought us through a not-as-popular entrance that was less crowded, and made sure we saw the main event: The baby (~2mo old) pandas! He answered all my random questions about pandas (with awesome English), and let me go at my own pace through the base. Oh, and the pandas were amazing. Going early in the morning (7:30am pickup) was the best decision to see the pandas most active
One star knock because:
- Communication before taking the tour: I’ve taken tours in China before where the company will message you (1) that they’ve received your booking, and (2) the day before your tour to introduce you to your guide. Neither of these happened. I messaged via Viator and WhatsApp to the organizer to confirm I was getting pickup the next day (Sunday), but didn’t get a response until after I’d finished tour. I walked down to my hotel lobby simply hoping someone would be there to pick me up (and there was!). I wish I had messaged just a couple days before the tour to confirm, and had that peace of mind.
- Since I wasn’t in contact with the operator before the tour, the “volunteer option” in the activity title ended up not being available to me. I was on the fence about doing it, but because it was not arranged in advance, I was not able to decide day-of. I had also wanted to see the red pandas, but they weren’t on the standard tour and I forgot to ask until the very end, so missed out there. Could have solved this with a little earlier communication!
Don’t let the communication commentary scare you away - this day was so much fun, and my friend is taking the tour next month because I talked about it so much! 🐼

Expensive, but worth the cost to help avoid the crowds. We started by walking to the very top of the park with very few tourists and then taking a route back down the mountain which made for a very enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend going in the morning if possible to see the pandas when they are most active!

Jason was a great guide and was very outgoing. He showed us all the best spots to see the pandas. We even got to saw the baby pandas out and about.
We also had difficulty getting to our hotel to our agreed pick up point but he was very understanding and picked us up at the area we got lost in when we dropped him a pin! I would recommend this tour and ask for Jason!!

This tour was a wonderful experience. We got to the Panda Centre early in the morning when the Pandas were quite active, mainly eating.
The Panda Centre is very popular and busy but it is still easy to move around. Our guide, Cindy Liu was extremely good at navigating the centre and finding us the best viewing areas in the most time efficient way. Her communication skills were excellent and she was a truly joyful person to be with. A great morning in Chengdu.

We recently took the half-day private tour to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center. The pandas were absolutely exceptional—seeing so many of these amazing animals up close was unforgettable.
Our driver was excellent—punctual and comfortable—and our guide handled logistics smoothly, helping us navigate the site with ease and get great views and photos without feeling rushed.
That said, for the price of a private tour, I expected more depth. Our guide didn’t share much additional information about the pandas—no real insights into their behavior, conservation, or history. It felt like most of what we learned came from the signs, rather than from an enthusiastic expert. The language barrier may have contributed here.
Overall, this is a convenient way to see the pandas, but if you’re hoping for a guide who brings the experience to life with knowledge and passion, you may find it a bit underwhelming.

I got picked up at my Hotel from Cindy, she was super polite, friendly and she even joked around with me, which i did not excpect from an 60 year old chinese Lady.
The Park was very clean and everything looked like it was just build. I was very lucky that day and saw alot of Pandas even Cindy got super excited about it and you could see she really like her job. She even gave me little presents with my name on it in the end.
I 100% would recomend doing the Tour with Cindy she did a perfect job all day long.
