Meet your guide at your hotel or at Grand Hotel (depending on what option you book) and head to Tiananmen Square, one of the largest city squares in the world.
On Chang'an Street, see the Great Hall of the People (Renmin Dahuitang) and the National Museum of China (formerly the National Museum of Chinese History and the Museum of the Chinese Revolution), and take a look at Chairman Mao's Mausoleum (aka Chairman Mao Memorial Hall) in the middle of the square. From the gate, walk to the Forbidden City, the UNESCO World Heritage–listed former Chinese imperial palace. A total of 24 emperors lived and ruled from here, starting with the Ming dynasty and ending with the Qing. If you come on Monday, when the Forbidden City is closed, Jingshan Hill instead.
Then it's time for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your day tour to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, a typically less-crowded section of the Great Wall of China. After the drive, you have around two hours here to hike. Choose the round-trip cable car option or ride the chairlift up and then ride the toboggan down to save time and energy.
Your tour then ends with return transportation to your departure point.

- Please note that Chinese nationals including visitors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must book tickets 7 days in advance for the Forbidden City. We cannot accept any bookings made within 7 days of the visit date.
- Forbidden City tickets require real-name reservation 168 hours (7 days) in advance and often sell out quickly. We highly recommend you book your tour as early as possible. Otherwise, international visitors may need to queue at the entrance to purchase tickets on site.
- Toboggan unavailable for guests over 60, pregnant women and children under 3, as well as in bad weather or long queues. Round-trip chairlift/cable car available instead.
- Please book carefully if you have a train, flight or other arrangements in the evening. The tour may be delayed due to various reasons.
- This experience is weather-dependent. If canceled due to severe weather conditions, you may choose an alternative travel date or tour, or receive a full refund.

Lucy was a great host. Very knowledgeable, kept the tour moving and allowed us to cover so much in one day. Excellent.
We had an amazing adventure with our tour guide: Maggie. She organized the trip very well and everyone had a memorable experience. We participated in a lot of activities and she allowed us time to experience each place without feeling rushed which was very kind and added to the experience. A must do activity if you are in Beijing and want to experience the must see places while here. 10/10 experience!!

We had a fantastic experience and couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Jerry! He was friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful throughout the day. He made everything easy and enjoyable, and was especially great with our 6-year-old.
Jerry was very attentive to what we needed, gave us lots of interesting information about the sights and history, and made sure we were comfortable and never felt rushed. He also helped us navigate everything smoothly, which made the whole experience completely stress-free.

Promptly met with Wendy, our tour guide, in our hotel lobby. Waited for the driver with her for a couple minutes and then picked up the other guests. Tianmen Square and Forbidden City were great to walk around, despite the heat, and Wendy did a great job describing significant history. The lunch buffet before the Great Wall was mid and had several other tour groups present. Also, lunch was preceded by a presentation on jade and subsequent sales pitches. The real highlight was the Great Wall. Our group was quickly funneled through and a meeting point/time set prior to having independent time for about 2 hours. My friend and I opted for the chair swing up and down (vs cable car/gondola up and slide down). The slide had about a 1 hr waiting time. Optional tea ceremony (and sales pitch) on the way down. There are also various vendors lining the way up to the Great Wall so great time to haggle for souvenirs before heading back home.

This is a must do if you visit Beijing. The entire experience was above my expectations. Our tour guide Maggie and our driver were extraordinary. Even though I was traveling solo it felt like a friends trip since Maggie made sure than me and the rest of the people in the tour feel very comfortable. She even paid for a Didi to pick me up and take me to the meeting point since my hotel was a little further. The lunch was fantastic and the time we spent at the Great Wall was magical. I would highly recommend this tour even if you are traveling alone. I will never forget this beautiful experience.

This was the trip of a lifetime! We only had two nights in Beijing and wanted to make the most of our time. This was the perfect tour! Not only did we get to see some of the most significant places in the city but we also got to learn about the rich history of China including stories about customs and food!! Maggie is a great tour guide, she has lots of knowledge about all the destinations we went too. Maggie was very attentive & made sure that we were happy the whole day. For the Great Wall Maggie let us to walk the Great Wall by ourselves while she waited in the tobbogan line for us so we didn’t have to wait in line for 2 hours. Before the Great Wall she took us to the buffet food restaurant and was very yummy, we also went to a tea house as well which was beautiful & had amazing tea. 10/10 experience with Maggie.

This tour was perfect for our family! She knows all the shortcuts in the Forbidden City so going through the crows was so easy. The lunch was so good and at the perfect time! I can’t express enough how great this tour was! Lucy was amazing! The entrance to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City can be quite a long wait, but Lucy made things happen whenever she could to help us get through the queue. Once you’re in, it’s game on!
She provided Bluetooth headphones so we could hear her clearly despite all the background noise, which was a huge help because the place is very busy. She was extremely knowledgeable and shared interesting information throughout each section. She also made sure no one was left behind whenever the group got separated, which happened a few times with the crowds.
The lunch buffet before heading to the Great Wall was also a nice touch and really picked me up before all that walking and climbing! Lucy also made an effort to connect with everyone in the group at some point during the tour, which I thought was really cool and made the experience feel more personal.
And finally, I was surprised to find out she even knew a little about American football! I told her my hometown and she knew the team.
Great experience, great guide, and an amazing day overall. I’d highly recommend this tour and Lucy!
