We enjoyed all three lines and the round trip ferry. Everything was timed beautifully so we had very little waiting. But we stayed on the bus and didn’t hop off. It gave us a great tour of the city and we learned a lot. It was a great way to start our stay in Hong Kong!

It was a great way to see the sights of Hong Kong! We walked to the main stop and used the bus to visit various locations brought the city. We usually sit on the bus for one whole loop and then use it throughout our stay.

I was told largest mall in world and got off bus but never found the mall. Hundreds os stores everywhere. Then got lost and could not find hop on hop off bus stop. More is a nightmare than a good experience. Sad. Only 1 day in Hong Kong.

Can do all 3 routes in 1 day but NO time to get off except for 1 spot. Not even lunch. I stopped at peak tram. Recommended that. Hong Kong has too much to offer. Pace yourself. 2day pass a must.

    James_H, Apr 2026
Fabulous way to see Hong Kong! We had great weather so the upper level of the bus was fantastic. The skyscrapers are so high. You can look up because there’s no roof up there and see them. We especially like the green root out through the reservoir area, Stanley and Aberdeen. When you get up to Victoria Peak, go see the garden up there. It’s just a nice place to get out of the city and go for a walk.

    Response from Host, May 2026

Dear valued customer, Thank you so much for the 5-star review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the fantastic weather and the unique open-top perspective of Hong Kong’s iconic skyscrapers. It is wonderful to hear that the Green Route through Aberdeen and Stanley was a highlight of your trip. We also appreciate you sharing the tip about the garden at Victoria Peak; it is indeed a hidden gem for a peaceful walk. We look forward to welcoming you back on board for another amazing adventure soon! Best Wishes, The Big Bus Tours Team

A lot of great stops, a lot of great information about Hong Kong and the hotels. If you go on a Monday, make sure you don’t hop off at M+ museum because it is closed.

Had questions on logistics - meeting point, start times etc. Sent email to contact but no one responded. No one still responded after several days. Ended up having to find a booth to talk to someone in person.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback and for letting us know about the trouble you experienced contacting us. We take this matter very seriously and have been reviewing our communications to understand what happened. On review, we were unable to locate any email related to your inquiry in our system. Please note our Hong Kong office was closed from 3 April to 7 April for the Easter holiday, and we resumed replying to outstanding messages as soon as we re-opened. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced and for any delay in getting the information you needed. If you are willing, we would greatly appreciate it if you could email us directly with the details of your original message (date/time you sent it, the email address you used, and a brief summary of the questions you asked). Please send that information to infohk@bigbustours.com so we can: search more thoroughly for the missing inquiry, identify and fix any gaps in our processes, and ensure this does not happen again to you or other guests. Again, we’re very sorry for the frustration this caused and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We hope to hear from you so we can resolve this promptly. Kind regards, The Big Bus Tours Team

Great way to see Hong Kong - particularly if have limited time. We bought the essential ticket and managed to fit in two bus tours with the return ferry crossing, alongside another less touristy activity. Did the blue and green routes - green route in particular took us to places would never have got the chance to visit otherwise in the day we were in HK. Commentary doesn’t always seem to match with exactly where are on route or descriptions aren’t particularly helpful so not always clear which buildings etc are being referred to but thats by no means unique to this Big Bus tour and a minor quibble. App is really useful to identify exact locations of stops from photos and also to identify locations of buses so if hopped off anywhere, can track where next bus is, maximising time to explore rather than waiting at stop. Overall rate highly and would recommend.

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Adam, Thank you for sharing your experience — and for choosing Big Bus to see Hong Kong. We’re delighted the Essential ticket let you make the most of a short visit, and that the blue and green routes showed you places you might not otherwise have seen. We appreciate your candid feedback about the commentary and how the app helped you locate stops and buses — that’s exactly the kind of insight that helps other guests plan and helps us improve. We appreciate your recommendation and would love to host you again. Best wishes, The Big Bus Tours Team

This was a perfect way to see Hong Kong island and Kowloon although we only opted for the island tour as we were staying in Kowloon. Check there are no public holidays or early closures of the busses and ferry and note only one route per ticket is included

    Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Lynda, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear the island tour gave you a great view of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon — and appreciate the helpful tips you mentioned about checking for public holidays or early closures and the one-route-per-ticket policy. Your feedback helps other guests plan better and helps us improve. We hope to welcome you back soon for another tour. Warm regards, The Big Bus Tours Team

Best way to see all of Hong Kong. Ces was very helpful, friendly and informative. The 48 hour pass was the best, took you on all 3 routes, entrance on the peak tram and the viewing from sky terrace 428, 2 round trip ferry passes.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Kim, Thank you so much for your 5-star rating and positive feedback! We’re pleased Ces provided excellent service and that the 48‑hour pass helped you enjoy all three routes, the Peak Tram, Sky Terrace 428 and the ferry. We appreciate you choosing us and look forward to welcoming you again. Best wishes, The Big Bus Tours Team

    Sharon_K, Mar 2026
We had a wonderful day but visibility was poor. Things to know it takes 1.5 hours for your first toilet stop. You need to take drinks and nibbles. They say meet at Love sign but our guide never came to collect us at this spot. You must look for blue jacket and flag otherwise you miss your bus. Very disappointed time at Mt Fuji as they allow 20 mins stopover yet spent more time running to each spot - cable car- ship ride than allowing toilet breaks or photo shoots. Our guide was hard to understand. The restaurant under estimated two buses arriving and ran out of food until I requested people disappointed and not feed. Trip is worthy but tour needs improving. Restaurant was below average

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Sharon, looks like you’re reviewing a tour of Mount Fuji - We're the Hong Kong hop-on hop-off Big Bus, so this review is misplaced. Still, we hope to see you on one of our buses soon! Best wishes, The Big Bus Tours Team

a great way to see the city in a limited time frame. The only issue we had was identifying the bus stops, but if you get on at a listed start point there isn't an issue. There are lots of city tour buses though, and probably a few that are less expensive than this one.

    Response from Host, Feb 2026

Great tours. Did all 3. A little difficult for cruisers to find the tour from the cruise port. A great way to see Hong Kong

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Don’t use from the cruise port!!!

    Karen_H, Dec 2025
Big Red Bus We’ve used this company in several other cities. This experience was terrible. Never again. My seat audio didn’t work. The route comes every 1 hour. If you get off, you have to wait a whole hour for the next bus. From the cruise ship, had to pay for another bus to get to the office where we could covert the Viator QR code to a ticket. There was no signage, so we had to ask people several times.(There is another hop on hop off bus company which picks up at the port). Then had to talk quite a ways to the bus stop. We were 5 minutes late, so had to wait another hour. From leaving the ship to the bus leaving was 3 hours and 45 minutes. The Star Ferry ride included in the ticket price was a one way ticket!! What good is that? After the tour, we have to get back to the cruise port on our own. This was a terrible experience.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hi Karen, thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you have encountered on your travel day, specifically due to the audio commentaries not functioning properly and the bus frequency that did not align with your travel plans. We are currently taking your feedback into consideration as we look into adjusting the route, ensuring that our cruisers can easily hop on the bus without any hassle. Additionally, I am truly sorry that your expectations regarding the Ferry ride were not met, as it was intended to be a one-way trip only. Thank you for your understanding. Please also contact us directly on email so we can further discuss your case. Best wishes, Anca from Big Bus

We found our 48 hour bus tour around Hong Kong & Kowloon to be fairly enjoyable. It was a bit difficult at first to locate the bus stops but, once we got the hang of it, we were OK. Staff were pleasant & helpful, good English on the commentary. The Peak Tram ride was awesome.

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

    For the price, I'm not...

    ckkinosh, Nov 2025
For the price, I'm not sure it is worth it. If you want the educational aspect (ie hear about the different sites as it drives around), then maybe it is worth it. The problem, is that the buses only come once an hour for the routes in the city, and once every 30 min for the route that goes around the island (I'm guessing the reason for the difference in interval time is because the city has stuff to keep people entertained while they wait for the next bus) It would be better if all buses came at 30min intervals. One positive thing is from our experience, the buses were pretty empty. If you are using the buses to just get from one place to another and have several people in your party, I suggest just using Uber. You will get to your destination faster and for a much lower price. That is what we did for several of the sites we visited because we didnt want to wait 40+ min for another bus. For our party of 4, an Uber ride from one attraction to another is maybe around $10 USD, while these bus tickets for two days cost us around $400 USD...and the Uber wait time was always only a few minutes. With that said, everything that is stated on their page is accurate, so you do get what is advertised. You do learn about the sites. The app does show the location of all the buses and is clear where the pickup spot is located (although one time the bus didnt stop at the location...but think that was due to traffic/congestion, so ill give them the benefit of the doubt) The buses do run somewhat on-time and are not that crowded. Again, however, if you are just using the buses to get from point A to point B, there are much faster/cheaper options.
